Count-Down: Jersey #55

Carl Ekern will always be #55 to me, I was a big fan of his.

Carl Ekern, was killed in a one-vehicle accident in the Mojave Desert while driving on Highway 395 when his jeep went off the road about seven miles south of Ridgecrest on August 1, 1990. It was assumed he fell asleep at the wheel.
Holy Crap. Some how I never heard this happened to Ekern. I don't know why I missed this. RIP Ekern. Thanks for mentioning this @Vapor!

How much sleep do you get?

During the summer I get about seven hours most nights. I can't sleep in much past sunrise, but I work from home and usually take an hour-ish nap during the day as well.

In the winter I could sleep in for another hour or so when the days are shorter, but I usually just set an alarm to keep me from doing so.

Have you ever named something or someone after our Rams?

I have...

I named an old dog of mine (a fat pug) after Jim Everett. Named him "Blade"... Jim's nickname. I know that there's somebody else here who named their dog after a Ram QB too... but I'll let him tell us since that particular QB is no where near as good as Everett.

What about you guys? Maybe it isn't a pet... maybe it's your 1st born or something else that's almost as important as your pet.

Please tell us!

Goff Displaying Growth, Leadership

Hi guys. Been lurking a bit. Life has been busy. I just want to say, Goff is showing what he had in the past .. H.S. and at Cal. He is getting better every yr. I would have been fine with either Goff or Wentz in the draft, but I preferred Goff just because I knew a lot more about him beings that I live in NorCal and am a Cal Bears fan. I think we did great by picking him. He has what it takes to be great. He may not be the "athlete" that Wentz is, but as far as a QB, Goff has everything it takes. I am so glad to see him proving many of the doubters wrong after that rookie season. He and McVay are a perfect match, IMHO.

I am excited to watch him grow and no longer have to wish we could find a QB. We now have that guy!

Good to see you Redding. I agree. Goff has shown a pattern of starting slow and improving greatly each year. Wentz may turn out to be the next RG3 in terms of flashing, and burning out with injuries, and Goff the steady, 15 year winner. (although I don't wish any ill on Wentz. I like him, and wish him well)

Rams LB Upgrade???

I think the key is someone winning that job on the right side. If that happens, then they can flip Longacre to the left where he'll fit better and absolutely terrorize RTs game to game.

I thought Ebukam was penciled in at the right side and Longacre on the left. Seems like Wade has a lot of faith in Ebukam. Longacre has been proving himself with 40% of the snaps before his injury.. If Obo gets back and shows something he should get playing time. I think Wade will keep them all fresh which will help. He has options with going 4-3 with Easley/Westbrooks. Rams could add a veteran if they feel the need but, not Barwin.

What former Ram.........

Ferragamo was never the same after he came back from the Canadian league. Rams brass messed with this guy really bad. Also, the Rams were 100% Eric Dickerson at this time.

I went to that Dallas/Rams game. Really sucked. Rams took a big league early then nothing the rest of the way. Ferragamo did stink it up that night!

He wasn't bad in 83', in fact had a very good season... still too many picks, but 84' he was brutal. He then broke his hand I think early in 84', after that traded for Tony Hunter in 85'.

Robinson wasn't exactly running a QB friendly O, kind of Fisher-like. Would have been interesting if they would have gotten Zampese while Ferragamo was there, but his accuracy would still be an issue.
