Who wears a C on their jersey this season?

Goff, most underrated leader on the team.

Gurley, probably just because he's such a good player, MVP candidate, and he leads by example. The dude works hard at his craft.

Whitworth---just reeks leader. Saffold is right in line with him. Very well respected, these guys.

Talib, has the capacity, and opportunity to be a leader in a young secondary group. Talib is an alpha.

Woods, really like him here as a leader, and he's entrenched now. Perfect example of a leader, on the field, off the field, a native of L.A., and great at PR.

Hekker is a no brainer for special team's. A different type of leader, but very vocal, very funny, and very supportive. Smart dude. Strong social media game.

Brockers has to be my guy on defense, but only because Donald continues the hold out show.

I think J. Johnson the 3rd has a real natural capacity to be a leader, and could be a future captain, if his play continues to improve.

My darkhorse is Joyner, as the players really seem to rally, and get fired up around him.

Stat why stars like Le’Veon Bell can’t get monster deals

That, essentially, would pay Bell like a No. 1 wide receiver rather than a No. 1 running back.

That's because he has that dual role. He's heavily involved as a WR.

Bell 4.79 yards per touch
Packers RB’s (Williams, Jones, Montgomery) 4.79 yards per touch

LOL, not only does he that counter with the lame "yeah well his yards per carry are yada yada yada" to try and down play a star player's worth, this dude COMBINED all three Packer RBs to equate ONE Le'Veon Bell. Ty Montgomery got hurt early in the year. Jamaal Williams was a meh. Only Aaron Jones who has is numbers skewed by a long run of 46 yards.

Never mind TDs.

Never mind total rushing and receiving yards (btw Le'Veon is the all time leader in total yards....in the NFL). Yeah let's not count that.

Yards per carry. Yeesh.

Also...has it occurred to anyone that star RBs just weren't available until recently?

TGII, Le'Veon Bell, David Johnson, Melvin Gordon, Dalvin Cook, Saquan Barkley, Leonard Fournette, Kareem Hunt, Jordan Howard, Alvin Kamara, Dallas RB, Devonta Freeman....league is all of a sudden stocked with star RBs.

Le'Veon Bell isn't getting a contract because he's a RB. He's not because his party wants more money, and that's not how the Steelers operate.

Hobbies

Otherwise, I am a sauce and rub nut.

Mmmmmkay.........

Am I the only one that giggled at that???

And FYI the steak rub is unbelievably delicious.

I actually had a ziplock bag from when Stu visited here that was swiped by a guest that I made steaks for that had been rubbed with this delicious concoction. A friend actually went into the cupboard and kidnapped that shit LOL.

I have a little backup, but lost the treasure trove.

It's worth getting.

Rams quarterback Jared Goff has gone Hollywood; yeah, well, not really

It seems we have guys who will do what it takes to simply get better and win. Apparently Woods was saying he knows the pitfalls of Hollywood from his time at USC. He just shrugs it off and goes to work. Maybe someone can find the article. I also don’t think we have to worry about Cooks, Kupp, and Gurley. AD apparently doesn’t get into the hype of LA either.

This is a real team of players. It’s pretty hard to point to a real knucklehead in the group.

Daily Dose: Sean McVay’s Brilliant Memory

Each weekday, theRams.com will be taking a look around the internet for the top Rams headlines of the day. Here’s a look at what’s out there for Monday July 23rd about your Los Angeles Rams:

THE PHOTOGRAPHIC MIND OF SEAN McVAY

HBO’s upcoming “Real Sports” profile with Bryant Gumbel will feature head coach Sean McVay, specifically his football mind. In the episode (airing Tuesday, July 24, 10 p.m. ET), McVay displays his photographic memory, recalling specific plays and describing them to a T.

Will Brinson of CBS.com provided a brief transcript of the interview:

GUMBEL:"Is it true what I read that you have a photographic memory where plays are concerned?"

MCVAY: "I think that-- probably more accurate thing is, I just don't have any balance. So all I really have (laugh), you know, the only room I have in my brain is to-- these plays"

GUMBEL: "No seriously. I mean, do you really remember?"

MCVAY: "I remember plays, but it's something that, you know, you're constantly going through it."

GUMBEL: "Well, let's see. Let's-- let-- let's see. Last year, week 16, you're playin' the Titans. Okay? You got ball 2nd, 11 at your own 20. 4:24 left in the second quarter. You remember what happened?"

MCVAY: "4:24 left in the second quarter?"

GUMBEL: "Yeah."

MCVAY: "Second and 11, I could probably say when we were going in we were flip the field, that was when we hit Gurley on the 80-yard screen."

RAMS LEGEND HAS HIGH PRAISE

NFL.com’s Meghan Payton sat down with former Rams running back and NFL Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson last week. Throughout the interview, Dickerson had many positive things to say about both head coach Sean McVay’s trust in his staff and running back Todd Gurley’s impact.

On Sean McVay:

[Sean McVay] is not afraid to let his coaches coach. He is not afraid to hire a guy that is the best at his position. I think what really impressed me last year was [the game] against the Cowboys. McVay was back away from the sidelines sitting on the water cooler talking to the offense. Head coaches, they want to be there like, "I'm stoic. I'm doing everything." I talk to him about it. He said, "I don't even worry about it. Wade Phillips does that. He's handling the defense. That is his job. I have faith in him."

On Todd Gurley:

“As far as Todd, man he ran the ball well last year. He blocked well. He came out of the backfield well. He did everything good. It's hard to repeat. He was going up for MVP and to me should have been MVP. People are going to say [I think that] because I played for the Rams, but that is not true. His value to that football team [is so high].”

“If you took [Gurley] away from the Rams[it's] just like if you took Tom Brady away from the Patriots, but you never know with that because Bill Belichick still wins. If you took Todd Gurley away from the Rams, those 11 games they win may go to six.”

Sherman: 'mistakes and poor judgment' ruined the special Seahawks

He must have been watching espn. According to most of the nimrods on that station the rams will have trouble getting all these new studs with "personality" to gel into one unit.

.
I didn't know anyone still watched ESPN. It has probably been over 10 years since I watched those dumb arses. I my watch a game on ESPN but that is it.

Colts' Andrew Luck (shoulder) will have no limitations at training camp

Especially in WASH where they gave up all the draft capital to get Griffin, and then watched as Cousins left town because the cheap ass management wouldn't give him a contract after three consecutive stellar seasons. I'm willing to bet they regret not making the offer that MINN did because it's 28MIL a year, only 6MIL per year than the two franchise tags cost them!!! Garrapollo is getting 27.5 just for comparison.

Cousins has completed 66 percent of his passes for 13,176 yards with 81 touchdowns compared to 36 interceptions over the past three seasons. Guys like that are not the type you let get away. Yeah they got Alex Smith, but one has to wonder why the Chiefs let him walk for a guy with one game on his resume.

At the start of this season;

Cousins
Age 30
2018 Cap Hit $24MM
Total Contract Value: $84,000,000
Annual Contract Value: $28,000,00
Fully Guaranteed Money: $84,000,000

Smith
Age 34
2018 Cap Hit $18.5MM
Total Contract Value: $94,000,000
Annual Contract Value: $23,500,000
Fully Guaranteed Money: $55,000,000

Yeah... it is going to be one of the storylines to watch this season.

Personally, while Smith is “cheaper” and there are less guarantees, when does he hit the wall? He’s not exactly the strongest arm QB to begin with.

For this season, maybe I’d be content with either... but I’m feeling better if Cousins is my QB vs Smith... particularly beyond 2018.
