Mic Drop

Concern right now is injuries, not the same defense without Talib and the offense seem to stagnate with the loss of Kupp. Hopefully both he and Saffold are okay and by the end of the season the Rams can get healthy, but who does not like winning? Sure beats the hell out of the alternative.

Cooks and Kupp cleared to play @Denver

Cool they're both playing, however I worry about Cooks though as his "collision" (cheap shot that wasn't called) was much more violent than Kupp's. I'm worried he'll take another hard hit (or it may not even need to be hard) and that will put him out for many weeks involving concussion protocol. He needs to just get down this game and not take any hits, IMHO.

I kinda wish we would sit Cooks this game, but oh well.
I definitely agree, Cooks needs to start getting down. I know that will hurt in YAC but he needs to think about his health

Kurt Warner - Rams Fan

The team needs it's own nickname....The System has always been a personal Jab at Goff by the media

It would be fantastic if the nickname got picked up nationally, and stuck with him through his career.

I would LOVE to see #16 jerseys with the words The System emblazoned on the back.

This is a nickname that calls for permanent status.

We should pitch in and buy a #16 jersey with that nickname on it and mail it to Goff for his birthday.

Maybe a photoshop wiz can mock something up.

Rams Must Play Gap-Sound Run Defense on Sunday

..........but what really stood out to me in several different games, especially so in the Seattle game, was the poor tackling overall and the inability to stop forward momentum. I get that some of these guys are downhill runners and obviously strong, but when you have a DL and a LB both wrapping him up he needs to stop going forward at the least, and probably should end up going backwards. Instead I see him falling forward while being tackled. Generally the tackling has been very suspect as well.

I'm with you and @fearsomefour the tackling has been for shit and that's the biggest problem IMO.

Too many stops that look like stops and end up being 7 yard runs. They aren't wrapping up they are trying hit "hit tackle" and knock guys down and that is a bad plan.

Man...if this defense can come together and get more stops our offense might average 40 ppg.

They could do that just by having someone stand next to McVay when the Rams are in the red zone and yell "GIVE IT TO #30 SEAN!!!!!" .

I like that Suh isn't mincing words here. The defense has been disappointing, they know it, and he isn't just throwing out canned responses.

I'm guessing that it's beyond them knowing that they have been a bit of a letdown, I think they may even be slightly embarrassed about it considering all the hype coming into the season. I've been waiting for it all to click and am still waiting..........

As a fan i'm just as entertained by a 13-3 win as i am a 35-24 win but i'm more satisfied with the former type of performance.

I watched the Browns v. Ravens game and loved it. Sometimes the low scoring games grip you because the tension increases possession after possession.

However I do not want to see that with my Rams LOL.

@BonifayRam take care

@BonifayRam

That you are helping people is excellent of you.

It's going to take more than many months to repair the damages, it'll be years. It's terrible and the people are in bad condition. I read that people are taking to scavenging and looting for food and supplies.

There are a lot of people still missing and you have to fear the worst with all the building that got smashed by the storm..........some of the people who didn't evacuate will have probably paid for that with their lives.

TNF: Eagles at Giants

I didn't like Shurmur when he was with the Rams, but he actually did a pretty good job with the Vikings last year, with arm-limited Case Keenum at QB. I really don't think he's the problem for the NYG, it's more the product of a lousy OL and a QB who is well past his sell-by date.

Yeah, I highly doubt Pat Shurmer is calling these types of plays over and over. He was pretty good with the Eagles, too.

But you go to a team like the Browns and the 2009 Rams, you don't get the best players. That's why I can't ever blame coaches entirely at the NFL level. You need both in the pros.

Hurricane Michael

my town of Lynn Haven is in shambles....I am doing better than most...back at work for phone company 12+ hours a day
13 days on and 1 off....please keep posting Ram updates and you guys enjoy the ride!...I will keep up best I can, but the public needs phone service....

Rock On!

I have become more silent on social network lately but you certainly have not gone unnoticed. You and yours made the most powerful prayer group of my god parent in laws.

Most honorable of your hard work trying to restore services for your community while your own family recovers.

Continued prayers to you, your family, and the entire community with the recovery of this disaster.

Ramily is so important to me.

Cupp and Kooks might play Sunday

Fisher rarely looked like he had total command of what was going on in the game - he probably didn't even notice.
It was like he was overwhelmed at the speed of what was happening.

McVay appears very aware of his surroundings and what's going on.

I can't respect a coach who leaves a player hanging out to dry... Martz was certainly one (Warner example cited, but I also recall him exposing Cutler badly). And one of the most egregious examples was Shanahan with RGIII. Not concussion, but he was clearly hurt and Shanahan left him in anyway.

These are selfish people who are only thinking about their own success... not the players.

I do not see McVay being anything like that. (y)

Yeah, Martz knew Warner was concussed which makes Martz a real SOB.

The thing with Shanahan was that I dunno if he realized exactly how bad the field was. Lots of QBs have toughed out knee issues... Rodgers is doing it now.

However, where Shanahan deserves to be rightly criticized is that he didn't restrict him to the pocket. If a guy has a flat tire, you don't go racing around corners on the rim. So Shanahan is responsible, but at no time did I feel that Shanahan was trying to see RG3 get injured.

Martz was actively trying to end Warner's career, an undertaking which he attempted several times in various ways.

I love Listening to Philly Sports Radio this Year!

Great post Mack. I love your ideas. It's a shame that this is what it's come to. I won't take my kid to a Rams game, because I am in PA. I don't want to risk him having a bad experience. I might be willing to go to Buffalo, because my nephew said that their fans are very friendly. That are is very friendly in general.

The NFL is trying to make the game safer, by toning down the defenses. But, it isn't safer for visiting fans.

Same with Tampa. GREAT fan experience and the Tampa fans might jaw a little, but it's all in good fun and NO ONE goes after kids. Been to a couple of games and saw numerous kids in other jerseys (some not of the teams playing as FL has tons of transplants) and no one said boo to the kids.

It may be the best family friendly atmosphere in the NFL.

But yeah, I dislike the Coliseum tremendously and I might consider trying to catch a game in the new digs, but chances are I'll need to sell an organ to afford it...

Any links to the full game available yet?

Man. I watched it a couple times. I want Ficken back. WTF? I get that the run defense was awful and Peters kept getting burned but that's been gone over ad nauseum. But holy crap did our look horrid. Every kick was a screw ball and the guy can only reach the goal line on kick offs if he happens to nail it just right. Yeesh that was bad. Hopefully the thin air helps him out but I sure hope we don't have to rely on him for game winners much longer.

Ndamukong Suh sheds light on Rams' 'terrible' run defense

I can’t believe that I didn’t use to care for Suh and now he is one of my favorite Rams players and I will hate to see him leave after this season (But, I am keeping my fingers crossed that SOMEHOW the Rams will be able to keep him!)!!!
