John Johnson

The Rams Run Defense will not improve unless the bring in a run stuffing NT (perhaps a beefed up Brockers??) and ILB. To maximize their pass rush I would keep Fowler but they need to find another Edge Rusher to complement him (perhaps Okoronkwo).

If JJ III replaces LJ as the Rams (most of the snaps) high safety its an improvement. This is not a hard decision because JJIII has played a ton of high safety when Wade orders it. Now the problem is finding an SS who can flip to high safety position some of the time. Hybrid ILB/Strong Safety Marqui Christian is not that safety. RFA safety Blake Countess might do for a period of time till a new Snead rookie drafted safety is ready to start with JJIII.

If defensive captain Cory Littleton slides over to the weak side ILB'er post in the position that the wore down WSILB Mark Barron played ...that would be a very BIG improvement. Once again the issue is 2nd yr MLB'er Micah Kiser [5-11 245 lb'er] be the run stuffering hole plugging LB'er this defense is in need off. Snead could also address this MLB'ing position once again in the draft on the 3rd day too.

I (y) agree it would be very smart to give OLB'er Dante Fowler Jr. a contract for 2019 as our top edge rusher & work hard (Assist HC & LB coach Barry) to develop very young OLB/ER'ers Og Okoronkwo/ Trevon Young/ Justin Lawler/ Samson Ebukam & Garrett Sickels.

I am also in full agreement that(y) Snead & Wade draft a talented (zero gap & 1 gap type ) Nose Tackle i.e.Dexter Lawrence/ Greg Gaines/ Daylon Mack & Olive Sagapolu! In addition, signing a veteran NT type i.e. Brandon Mebane/ Steve McLendon & Tyeler Davison to go with our only remaining Ram NT 2nd yr player Sebastian Joseph-Day. This would be a excellent improvement.

Former Washington Redskins TE coach Wes Phillips expected to join Los Angeles Rams

The original quote you posted had all that information! I agree with you though. Mcvay is an outlier. Probably a cyborg.
Not sure why but I thought he meant Wade Phillips, using him as another reference of outstanding people don't unusual things.

I see that he meant Wes Phillips now.

Pro Tip: When two people who are potentially in the same conversation have the same last name, use first name instead or in addition to last names in order to avoid confusing idiots like me.

Top Ten Super Bowls Ever?

NFL re-did its Top 10 Super Bowls ever. The older one which I have seen, Super Bowl 34 was considered the best Super Bowl in history. This new one counted down and it got down to #2, which they called the Giants defeat of the then perfect Patriots...

I knew the older video had 34 as the top, and it hadn't been mentioned at all in the episode, which meant to me "it's number one again..."

Nope.

#1 Super Bowl now to NFL Films is Cardinals vs Steelers. Are you kidding me? D'Marco Farr was one of the experts reacting to the list, and you could tell he was ticked because he remembers as well what I did, that Super Bowl 34 was #1 on the previous list...He said "Are you punking me right now?"

Can you say, "Recency Bias?" I knew you could.
[idiot]if the titans scored on the last play they would have won the superbowl[/idiot]

"For the Rams to have a chance.."

We can't start out slow. We have to use Gurley and Anderson early and often.

The 1st quarter will be the Litmus test.

Yep. The start is huge! We've gotta go out there and get things rolling right. We know they are gonna start hot, so we need to get settled and establish ourselves. We've got a 24 year old (albeit, calm headed) QB and a young coach - The Pats will be licking their lips, if they get up on us.

If we win this game, it all starts with Gurley/Anderson and the O-Line. We need to get the run game going, so that we can hit the big plays that the Pats are susceptible to (as are we). It also keeps Van Noy and Flowers honest, which is needed, because that Pats pass rush has come to life the last few weeks. Making the most of scoring opportunities will define this game. Gotta execute in the RZ.

On D...we all know the stats about Brady and sacks. If we don't generate pressure, he'll carve us up on those infuriating 12-15 play drives that sap 7/8mins off the clock. Without being pessimistic (but for anyone who's watched our D...), we are also likely to give up some big plays on Sunday (we rank 30th), so big time sacks, and forced turnovers (as always) will be huge for us if we can get em.

...well, with that piece of "captain obvious" posting from me....lets get this game underway! I'm already feeling the adrenaline! We've got the talent - We've just gotta execute!

Brandin Cooks - Great Guy

I realize this is in another thread but I think it deserves its own as it was a great gesture.

Our Brandin Cooks went and paid for Super Bowl tickets, transportation, and lodging for the Rams Team Custodian and his son. Talk about making someone's day.
