NRC set to graduate from USC!

Meanwhile in New Orleans, an article is written about how he NRC cheated his way through graduation in midst the international student scandal
Picayune Times reports NRC's professional football career INTERFERED with his studies.

Gayle Benson pens an opt ed venting her anger at NFL's lack of prudent oversight to prohibit a career in CONTACT sports prior to an education that should be reviewable in today's NFL.

Rams have $4.65M in cap space to sign 2019 draft class, free agents

Whomever compiled the below stated information about DW "
Williams was a undrafted free agent who joined the Rams in 2015. Williams actually started a game for the Rams in 2017, though that came in week 17 when the starters were benched. Arguably the biggest play of his career to date was coming on for an injured Havenstein in 2017 and immediately allowing a strip-sack effectively ending a large comeback by the Rams against the Philadelphia Eagles. is incorrect!

Simmons may have reported the release but he may or have inserted the above wrong information in the article. That must have been done by Sosa. I will have my peeps get up with him & advise him that we here @ ROD expect better.;)

Thank you for clarifying (y)

So, which Ram rookies are gonna REALLY exceed expectations this year?

I'll name two. Gaines and Rapp. I've closely followed the Huskies and have watched all their games.

Gaines- I think Gaines will play because he's that good. Often limited by the defensive scheme and play assignments at UW he is able to do quite a bit more than most people think. Watched his high school career and he played DE, RB and TE. More athletic than most think and a bit faster. I have watched him absolutely destroy offensive lines for 8 years. To watch him stack bodies, close holes 2 or 3 over and defeat double teams (when allowed without system or assignment limitations) has been fantastic. Players behind Gaines like Rapp and Ben Burr-Kirven racked up a lot of tackles by being kept clean by Gaines. BBK led the nation in tackles. Interesting tidbit is that Gaiines won the UW front seven award 3 years straight even when Vita Vea was playing. Gaines often demanded a very large number of double teams.

Rapp- Watched his college career because of my interest in Gaines. Kids a ball hawk and outstanding open field tackler and blitzer. Great closing speed and play diagnosis. Smart, athletic and in the right place at the right time. Makes great well timed plays on the ball and receiver. I think he'll do very well.

Some personal projections

This is something I've been saying for a while now. While some people are still concerned about Peters, I'm not. When Wade finally let Peters play his natural position, off the receiver, Peters improved tremendously. Part of the reason they held Michael Thomas to 36 yards in the NFCCG. Peters will be playing his natural spot from the beginning this year. I think we might see a return to his pro bowl form.

That’s sort of how I see it, too.

As far as Havenstein, he seems entrenched on the right side to me.

Another classy Rosen move

Maybe this experience had humbled the kid. He was pretty cocky this time last year. I still have doubts he was the problem. He might have been Fishered with the coaching staff and the personnel around him.

The Cardinals' coaching staff was very likely the worst in the NFL this past season. I'm not sure how much better 2019's is, but it is likely better though not good. Rosen might not be the answer - but many good QBs (Jared Goff, anyone) don't look good under an inept HC. The kid (Murray) the Cardinals drafted, might have a good season or two. But I expect Rosen to have the better career. For which I'm glad. Let him prosper in the AFC East.

Inside the draft room: Rams trade back on Day 1

I’m a book reader and I’m fine with whatever the show does. At this point I doubt GRRM finishes it before he dies so it’ll be nice to at least get a watered down version of the ending instead of nothing or another author finishing it up.

I liked the episode but could have been better. I loved the music at end and Arya being Arya. I’ve assumed she was going to do the deathblow for years now.

My armchair general opinion is they should have kept the Dothraki behind the keep and let the dead start charging the front. Light up battlefield with trebuchet fire balls while dragons burn the crap out of what they can. When sure they aren’t going to get flanked call the Dothraki in having split 50/50 from around behind to hit the dead on both sides while unsullied held the dead in one spot. Dragons burning up backside. Definitely anything that didn’t call for them to ride into the pitch black against a foe that can’t be hurt. Did the dothraki weapons even have dragonglass at all? Don’t remember. If not then they literally had zero chance of killing one undead. So yeah that was poor writing.

I don't understand why you say that. I don't think that they would be very obvious about missing out on a guy like Baker with a reporter in the room. The last thing you want is for the draft choices to feel that the Rams wanted other players. It may be obvious that some of the top 15 would be preferred, but the Rams won't speak of it. And when it comes to David Long specifically, they shouldn't make it public that they preferred Baker.

Leaked info is a different animal. The Rams.s could deny that it was true, so there's no negativity towards their draftees.

Rams Draft Rebuilt Several Key Positions At A Low Cost

Just want to add I really think it’s cool The Rams drafted Nick Scott !!!

Man I think he is going to fit really good.People on the board talk about
Travis Rapp being a FS ??

My point is this !! Eric Weddle is a Stud !! He is a perfect role model mentor for Nick Scott to learn from !! You can’t teach speed, so Nick Scott has that to make plays others might not my learning the game. He is a special teams gem who can tackle. Changing to FS will fit his skill set. He has time to learn under a possible HOF FS ??

Travis Rapp seems to be more of a read & react type of safety. He is quick as heck !!
To be honest didn’t know much about him. McVay & Snead said enough to see what he is going to mean to The Rams defense.
He is going to be able to run down plays from behind. He takes excellent angles & flashed by O’lineman before they know it.

John Johnson has been excellent as a Ram FS . How much is he going to cost in 2 seasons ?? This just really settles the defensive backfield for years to come even if The Rams can’t afford to keep him ?? Could be franchised on the cheap & comp pick like a Joyner ??

Your take on the Giants selection of Daniel Jones?

No his real mistake is not using a 2nd rounder this year on Josh Rosen.

Disagree. And that's even with the fact that I have always felt Rosen was underrated as a prospect due to playing under an idjit of a HC at UCLA.

Rosen is going to a Miami team with a new regime in place and I'm not certain O'Shea is ready as a coordinator for a new HC. The roster is weak as well, not a lot of plus weapons for him to throw to. He's in for a tough situation IMO.

Jets aren't loaded on the offensive roster either but Darnold is going into year two in the same locker room, and his coach has a good grasp of the passing game. Adding Bell is going to help their QB with a safety valve too. Their defense should be quite good, and I think they might push for the playoffs.

We'll see how things go this season but I am confident Darnold is going to be that pick that gets rubbed in Giants' fans faces every year as he leads the Jets to the playoffs.

Are You More Connected or Less Connected in the Off season Now?

I'm envious, however, several more years and I will be able to play more often as well. My father was (still around) a scratch golfer in his prome and when we would play together in our younger years, I used to tell him I really didn't know how good he was because he was never in trouble. Always in the fairway, always on the green in regulation, but can you hit out of the woods??? I knew I could...And I got my money's worth because I used the whole course.

Lol, I keep a second driver in my bag for the trees. I can't hit it too high if even if I try so its perfect for a low runner that rolls a long way. Aside from my tee driver and putter, its probably my most used club. :homercrawl:

Kicker Sebastian Janikowski retiring

It’s why Hekker is going to make the HoF.

Best year in and out.

Ray Guy is the only punter in the HoF. Hekker could join him eventually, if he keeps it up. 4 time 1st team All Pro, and 2 time 2nd team - in 7 seasons. Punters need to be the best or in serious conversation for that for a whole bunch of years, since the difference between the best and a good but not great one isn't really that far.

Henderson takes Tavon's missing role in offense?

he was up against a lot of scrubs. that doesn't mean he can't play but probably makes him look better than he is. as long as mcvay can put him in space he will flourish with the rams.

.

He's not likely going to do in the NFL what he did in college. But the idea is can he make enough plays? Obviously McVay thinks he can. They need someone who can provide enough to keep Gurley from wearing down late in the season. Now they have two guys in Henderson and Brown. I think they consider the backup job more important than before now.
