I think Gaines and Rapp and possibly Long are the real deal. Now I know Im sounding like a big homer here BUT Gaines is known for handling 2 blockers and stuffing the run. Rapp is an elite tackler who can read plays w/ great instincts. And able to play a few differ spots as well.
Long can be the cherry for our Def. Just my 2 homer cents
Maybe you are just in a bad mood. Maybe you are drunk. Or maybe you just can not read very well. See post #23
I meant thinner horns than the ones shown in post #1. Not current unis.
If the Rams just said they would go with the Vince Ferragamo Jack Youngblood, Erick Dickerson unis from the 70s-80s then said the throwbacks would be the Decon Jones-Roman Gabriel uniforms from the 60s the vast majority of us would be happy.
Now go back to bed.
I know what you meant. I was just trying to say (and sounded like an ass, my apologies) that I've only ever seen people say thicker horns. This being an example of something I've seen people say the horns should be like:
It was early 1970's Southern California, especially in summer. This was when a lucky family MIGHT have had a window unit A/C unit, and everyone else opened their windows and relied on fans/screen doors.
Mom would order us out of the house because we'd get on her nerves, I guess. She didn't have to tell me to do it becuase I could be in some sort of ball game within 15 minutes and it would last until dark. Mother's would scream kids names when dinner was ready, and my Mom would say "I better not have to yell, twice..." I bet that doesn't exist in America so much anymore...
Will see how John Wolford does ?? I guess 4 QB’s is enough. Usually has been the case.
Nice to see a kid get a chance by working hard & staying true to the game.
Funny,..I guess this would be the antitheses of the Mormon Religion allowing more than one husband...Wonder if @ArkyRamsFan would officiate those weddings?
So in the last 2 minutes they’re going to “get technical” with it. They’re going to slow it down and analyze it closely.
I can’t wait to see how this gets implemented, there’s no way to call every pi is there? Just wait til one doesn’t get called. At some point you just have to accept that refs make mistakes( unless you’re from NO)but now we have eliminated errors. We’re gonna get them right from now on. I think we’re headed down a rabbit hole, anybody watch the Kentucky derby? One horse crossed the line first but upon further review, he cut off the horse next to him so he’s disqualified, but if you go back a little further it looks like another horse was running up the winner’s back, clipping his legs until he swerved to get clear. Who was at fault? Hard to say but replay really didn’t help, it’s open to interpretation. Just like the rules the nfl has now, what’s a catch, what is possession and a football move?
I just don’t see how every catch or non catch in the last 2 minutes doesn’t get reviewed.
It will be interesting to see how Barron plays after all those injuries. He had good interest from teams around the league. Steelers must have though he was healthy. I get the Steeler games a lot and got tired of seeing them. Checking Barron out gives a little reason to watch.
Sounds like the same situation is repeating itself with this years #1. Different type of QB but same school, surrounded by elite college talent, faced no adversity and put up great numbers for one season.
We don’t know how it would have played out with a season of this or if either team would even have been in the NFCCG.
Can’t just apply a rule that would have had to be installed in preseason and been in effect for all 256 regular season games and then the playoffs to think NOTHING about the entire season would have been altered except that play.
Only way to know is to venture to the parallel universe where this change went into effect last off-season and then watch it play out.
Short of that, we can’t know and all anyone can do is move forward with this season.
Yeah, totally different cast for that. Like it or not, weekday GMFB is probably their highest rated show, other than A Football Life. I like it ok, but Kay Adams is a Chicago Homer and Ram hater. I would grudge smash the HELL out of her though....
Gotta remember we lost Sam Shields who was amazing on ST and made game changing plays vs GB downing the ball at the 1 and the converted 4th down vs the Saints in the NFC Championship. I think Bones has a very specific role in mind for Scott already. If it takes a 7th round pick to secure a guy Bones has total confidence in, then you do it.
Three more years until the Lakers will be good again. I wouldn't count on Paul George, Kyrie, or AG (not that Davis consistently wins either) coming to the franchise. Nobody wants to play with LeBron or the dysfunction that is the Lakers.
The Lakers need to build through the draft the hard way and pick up smart veteran role players. I'm talking players like Danny Green, Jonas Vakanciunas, Thaddeus Young, and Taj Gibson.
As a fifth-round pick out of Wisconsin, David Edwards joins an offensive line rom that can certainly stand to add depth. With 2018 draft picks Joe Noteboom and Brian Allen moving into potential starting roles this season, Edwards — along with third-round pick Bobby Evans — has a chance to become a key reserve for Los Angeles’ five up front.
While he played through a shoulder injury in 2018, Edwards says he’s healthy and ready to compete. And under run game coordinator/offensive line coach Aaron Kromer, Edwards will be able to receive some high-quality teaching as he acclimates to the league.
OUTLOOK AT THE POSITION As mentioned in Evans’ role analysis, the Rams likely don’t really have starting positions up for grabs as the rookies arrive and the club gets closer to OTAs. As of now, left tackle Andrew Whitworth, right guard Austin Blythe, right tackle Rob Havenstein are entrenched as the club’s returning starters. Noteboom and Allen are slated to take over at left guard and center, respectively.
For Los Angeles’ reserves, 2018 sixth-round pick Jamil Demby returns and should have a leg up as the Rams’ proverbial “sixth man” on the offensive line.
POTENTIAL ROLE AS A ROOKIE
Like fellow rookie Evans, Edwards will be cross-trained at the four offensive line spots aside from center — as Kromer often says that’s the best way for rookies to learn the NFL.
Edwards could earn a spot on the Rams 46-man gameday roster if he proves his versatility along the OL during OTAs and training camp. But there will be competition for that, as the Rams keep only seven offensive linemen active for each contest. The biggest question for Edwards will be about the health of his shoulder, as that limited his production in 2018. But the rookie out of Wisconsin told L.A. media just after his selection that he’s feeling healthy.
“n terms of right now, we actually had the chance to figure out what was wrong, it was something very minor and we were able to fix it actually pretty quickly and it was non-surgical or anything like that,” Edwards said. “I’m feeling confident, I’m healthy and ready to head into OTAs and rookie minicamp.” #Rams Rookie OT David Edwards' ability as a run blocker likely intrigued #LA to add depth to their OL by picking him at 169
In 2017, (min. 200 snaps) he posted an 80.5 Offensive Grade (37th for OLs; 24th for OTs) and an 81.4 Run Block Grade (23rd for OLs; 15th for OTs) pic.twitter.com/SoFbYJ3S59
For any player chosen around Edwards’ spot at No. 169, prospects for the future are almost always about development. Edwards is in a good position to do that in Los Angeles, given how effective Kromer has been at training young offensive linemen over the course of his career.
So while Edwards is likely a depth piece for now, he has a chance to grow into a full-time starter down the road. That could be sooner or later, depending on openings along the Rams’ offensive line. But having played at Wisconsin, he may have a leg up given his familiarity with a pro-style offense.
QB, RB & WR units sure look to be in much better shape. The TE & OL should be about the same but the OL will need to carry a larger overall amount of active OL'ers.
The DL with three true new NT'S will help improve this unit (Gaines, Joseph-Day & Thompson). The DT cadre of Donald, Brockers, Franklin-Myers, Fox, Smart & Copeland should be better.
Our Secondary lost Lamarcus Joyner, Blake Countess and Sam Shields replaced by Weddle, Rapp and David Long....appears to be a big improvement to me.
Rams parted ways with veterans Mark Barron & Ramik Wilson @ Interior LB'ers. Littleton should replace Barron & Micah Kiser should fill the void left my Littleton. Bryce Hager brings 68 NFL games worth of experience to both positions. Travin Howard is one fast LB'er who tackles everything in sight. Rams Rookies Dakota Allen & Troy Reeder will push the other two reserves. This unit will be better.
Injuries weakened our Edge Rushers last season. Fowler comes back to take his first opportunity to participate in the Rams TC & preseason. Trevin Young & Og Okoronkwo will be finally healthy. Justin Lawler is a very smart sound OLB'er. Ebukam should be done with his recovery from knee surgery too. All these under 25 yr old ER's will get a good dose of veteran all-pro Clay Matthews to lead this unit on the field. This unit should also be greatly improved.
I like Evans as RG too, all depends on preseason, but Evans was a better RT than LT and might just prove to be the answer at RG freeing up Blythe & Allen to battle it out at Center.
I believe Gaines along with Sebastian Joseph-Day will make a extraordinary rotation at NT and bring back memories of the likes of Charles DeJurnett, Greg Meisner, Shawn Miller & Alvin Wright of the 80's.
The Rams of late have shown that they're willing and creative enough to make a move late off-season or mid-season if they feel they're not good enough in one particular phase of the roster.
They will continue to look at opportunities i'm sure.
The Concentration to hold onto the interception against Brees (while falling backwards) to Catapult the Rams to the Super Bowl will go down in the annals of Ram History.
