Being a TA at University. Much Respect to Teachers

Leaving High School my goal was to be a teacher. I was inspired by a ninth grade history teacher who for me made his course come alive. It set me on that path. In my second year of college, life was to present me with some roadblocks and obstacles that I believed were insurmountable. Causing me to take a different path. In hindsight they weren't but I couldn't see that at the time. I have never forgotten that teacher or the goals that I had at that time. I guess what I am saying is as a teacher or instructor you may not be able to affect the masses but if you can reach that one student maybe it all would be worth it.

NFL Rules Are Just Suggestions

If Brady played in the days of Deacon Jones, he would have been broken and out of the league at the age of 27.

The NFL made rules to favor Brady. I have no doubt about it. Some of the hits Goff and the QBs the with no penalty would have the field littered with yellow if the same hit was made on Brady.

How the F do you change a ruling of fumble on the field and change the call to "tuck rule"? The Rams would have trashed the Raiders in the SB because the Raiders don't cheat.

Running

Not a runner. Too lazy.

Just wanna brag about my 83 yr old Pop. He took up running when he was around 62 to help blow off steam and stay in shape to take care of my mom who had MS.

Since then, he's run marathons in all 50 states and 3 continents (North America, South America, and Europe).

Since my mom died last year, his energy and drive plummeted. He tried to run Tokyo and Cape Town, but couldn't finish either. He just lost the will.

He's since developed some equilibrium issues. But what I'm most proud of is his ability to call it quits. He was a Green Beret (10th SF), ran all these marathons and all. But when he realized it wasn't worth it anymore, he just said no more. He's done what he's done and no one can take it away from him. Nothing to prove.

He still runs. Did 8 miles last Saturday, but no more marathons. Hell probably quit soon altogether, but whenever he decides I'll always be so proud of my dad.

And he's a Rams fan too.

Jets release Jachai Polite... RAMS Sign Him To PS

I wish we would have hung on to Peterson. I think that guy if given a chance is gonna be a stud
True but Darious Williams offers so much more @ corner. One of DW skills that placed him far above Peterson was Williams speed. DW can also quick enough to play the Nickle post something Peterson was not as good at.

I would bet that Snead is planning on drafting two talented outside corners in 2020 to go with veterans 28 yr old NRC, 29 yr old Troy Hill, 27 yr old Darious Williams, 26 yr old Dont'e Deayon & 22 yr old David Long.

NFL owners could reportedly push for 18-game season during labor talks

It feel like 17 games is splitting hairs and just a step to get to 18 eventually anyway.

My biggest beef w/17,18 games is the record books and how stats will make modern players appear better players compared to those before them. The career stats, etc. They all get asterisks, so to speak.

Brees is closing in on 80,000 passing yards. Stunning.

But...

Give him 2 extra games over 15-19 seasons... that’s another 6,000-10,000 he could have.

I dislike that. Someone will eventually pass him and the extra games clearly will benefit whoever does.

Rams may be having problems with their tenants

Eh, seems that most of what Roggin says is what I remember. Sure there are additional facts, but whatevs. Really no story and if there's any "friction" it's probably not a whole lot - certainly not enough for a real story. Maybe like how someone slow to go at a green light causes "friction" with other drivers. There was no fixed dollar amount for the Charger/Spanos PSL contribution:

Los Angeles Rams snap count evaluation through three games shows evolution of team in 2019

Rapp 32 snaps > 40 snaps > 50 snaps... That's a great example of a young player forcing the staff to play him by executing consistently and taking advantage of opportunities in-game. Sure is nice to see this young player ascending right before our eyes.

Also it always trips me out how many special teams snaps there are. Makes sense and all, but in my head I'm always thinking it's 10 or so snaps lol.

Rams glad to be unbeaten despite ordinary offensive start

This article is basically saying some of the things I've been saying. The opposing DC's are emulating the scheme the Pats used in the Super Bowl. That scheme exploited a basic flaw in McVay's offense. That is an over reliance on the outside blocking scheme for their run attack. The 6 man front they face in itself has a fatal flaw as well, but McVay's offense doesn't attack it because it can't with the blocking scheme they use.

The 6 man front is to take away the gaps normally exploited in an outside zone run attack. How you beat that is with a gap blocking scheme that will attack the center of that d-line. Blow that center up and if they can get the MLB blocked the RB will get into that second level with a chance to take it to the house. Even if they don't get it that far, the mere fact they run it will force the defense to move out of that 6 man front. By mixing their blocking scheme up, both the inside and outside runs will be there. Once the run game gets on track the passing game will destroy them.

IMO the solution is that simple. They show that front then attack them with a play that uses a gap blocking scheme. If they don't show that front, then the outside zone probably is there. Even if they use an inside zone blocking scheme, they need to show they will play more than one style of blocking when they run the ball.

Bottom line the key to getting the offense back on track is to get the run game going again. IMO the key to that is changing up the o-line blocking scheme and running between the tackles. Relying solely on an outside zone with only a horizontal concept is all to easy to counter if you simply maintain gap integrity which is what teams are doing with the 6 man front. It was the Bears which first exposed the weakness with their tightly aligned front 4. The Pats simply extended it by an additional player on each side.
