Jason La Canfora sucks

Per-16 Game Numbers over the past three years for two NFCW QBs on that list
QB A (25 years old)
4470 yards
28 TDs
12 Ints

QB B (28 years old)
4004 yards
25 TDs
13 Ints

QB B is somehow the "up-and-coming talent," while QB A is somehow stuck in a lower tier. Yeah, right.
And in QB "B"'s case, his own HC tried to win in the playoffs/SB by keeping the ball out of his hands while QB "A" had full confidence of his HC despite his coming up short

2020 Offseason Opponent Breakdown: Miami Dolphins

2020 Offseason Opponent Breakdown: Miami Dolphins

Now that the Rams' 2020 schedule is officially out, it's time to resume our offseason opponent breakdowns on theRams.com. Up next is Los Angeles' Week 8 road opponent, the Miami Dolphins.

2019

Moves made both before and during the regular season signaled this would be somewhat of a rebuilding year for the Dolphins.

On Sept. 1, they traded starting tackle Laremy Tunsil, wide receiver Kenny Stills, a 2020 fourth-round pick and a 2021 sixth-round pick to the Texans in exchange for a 2020 first-round pick, 2021 first-round pick, 2021 second-round pick, cornerback Johnson Bademosi and tackle Julien Davenport.

On Sept. 17, they traded starting safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, a 2020 fourth-round pick and a 2021 seventh-round pick to the Steelers in exchange for a 2020 first-round pick, a 2020 fifth-round pick and a 2021 sixth-round pick.

On Oct. 28, they traded starting running back Kenyan Drake to the Cardinals in exchange for a conditional 2020 draft pick. The next day, the Dolphins acquired cornerback Aqib Talib and an undisclosed draft pick from the Rams in exchange for an undisclosed draft pick, though Talib was on L.A.'s injured reserve and would not end up taking a snap for the Dolphins last season.

Miami lost seven of its first eight games en route to a 5-11 overall record. That finish earned them the No. 5 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, which they used on Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Changes

Outside of those listed above, the Dolphins also signed former Eagles running back Jordan Howard to a two-year deal, acquired Matt Breida from the 49ers in exchange for a fifth-round pick in this year's draft and signed former Patriots offensive guard Ted Karras to a one-year deal.

On defense, Miami signed former Dallas Cowboys cornerback Byron Jones to a five-year deal which made him the highest-paid player at his position in the NFL. They also signed former Patriots linebacker Kyle Van Noy to a four-year deal.

Head coach

Brian Flores enters his second season as head coach of the Dolphins. Prior to joining the Dolphins last season, had been part of the Patriots organization since 2004: first as a scouting assistant, then as a defensive assistant from 2011-15, linebackers coach from 2016-17 and defensive coordinator in 2018.

What to watch for - Rams defense vs. whoever starts at quarterback for the Dolphins

Unless a player is the No. 1 overall pick, it's usually difficult to predict when a rookie quarterback will get his first start or take over the offense.

Tagovailoa suffered a season-ending hip injury in mid-November, but multiple reports said the results of his voluntary medical recheck in early April were "overwhelming positive." If he's healthy enough and has a firm enough grasp of the offense, he may get his chance by Week 7; if not, the Dolphins will likely continue to have 37-year-old Ryan Fitzpatrick under center.

Who has PFF?

I get it, but in the context of this article, PFF is slighting Akers due to the line in front of him and our decision to not invest in more talent, so it needs to be discussed. If we made an off-season move to bring in a stud lineman or drafted one within our first few picks, Akers would surely be higher here. Its not a indictment of his talent at all, just what they expect from him as a rookie with the line in front of him. I personally love him and think he was the most talented overall back in the draft.

When you say the passing game carried us last year, its because it had to. The run game was non existent like you said. But that heavy passing attack doesn't bode well for this offense. We need a balance to be successful and teams have to respect our play action game again. Can we get the running game and playaction back on track with this o-line? Whats the probability of that happening? The whole season will come down to that.
Yep and I'm certainly not feeling confident about our OL. The 5 we ended last season with was a pass blocking line (only Edwards is a good run blocker from the group). And a couple of them weren't even good at pass blocking, they're just better at that than the run.

So since I'm in hope mode now here is what I am hoping happens in camp and through the early season...

LT: Whit (he is a pass pro specialist now)
LG: Anchrum (longshot to win this job but I dislike Corbett's sissy ass run blocking) or Brewer
C: Allen (I eagerly await the nuclear fallout in electronic Ramsdom if this happens but he's our best run blocker at Center)
RG: Edwards (nice balanced young lineman who may be a plus guy for us on the right side in year 2)
RT: Hav (if he doesn't win this job we're going to need to endure growing pains with Evans)

LT Depth: Boom (this is absolutely crucial, we need to identify LT asap with Whit showing his age last season in the run game)

Not saying the above is realistic btw. Again this is what I would like to see. That line would get it done on the ground IMO.

Predicting who will win Rams' biggest position battles this offseason

It's nice that we have Evans in the event Hav can't recover his previous form. But if we do go with Evans there's going to be some growing pains. So ideally Hav will win his job back and the bookends will be good which will help both OGs.

IF that happens our run game should be pretty good to the right side. If not, our run game is probably going to be Akers finding something when not much is there like he did at Fla St.

Whit: Pass blocking is his forte. His run blocking last season was rough.
Corbett: Pass blocking is his strength, although he's mediocre mind you. Run blocking needs a lot of work.
Blythe: Mediocre at both but definitely better at pass pro.
Edwards: More consistent run blocking, but has shined and struggled at both in year 1.
Hav: the guy from 2018 was a plus run blocker who was also better than average in pass pro. Which guy will we get?

Evans: Not good at either but better in pass pro between the two.

There is a clear strength across our line in pass pro IMO, in terms of what they do best. So that is why we need Hav to return to form. And it's probably why Hav is still a Ram, because they know Evans has the skills but needs more development.

If Hav returns it looks like we'll have a good run game to the right side. Now all that aside the RBs will affect all this too, so hopefully we end up running the ball well across the board, but just pointing out that run game being a focus this year might mean a change at one or more of our projected starting jobs on the OL. Those btw would most likely be LG and C.

Raiders red hot in Las Vegas

Personally my wife and I have always really enjoyed Las Vegas and it's weather every time we have gone out there. My mother-in-law worked at Excalibur for years until she retired recently, so we always received a favorable rate and although we enjoyed the shows more then the gambling other attractions like Red Rock Canyon for example is special....Good for the area and it's amazing how the Raiders did not get any push back from Oakland after leaving there for the 2nd time.
Red rock canyon is fantastic yes. My house was nearby so the Red Rock Casino was my go-to for movies, bars, dinner, bowling, etc. They also have the Knights' practice facility right next to the casino and it's got a bar & restaurant up top that you can relax and enjoy yourself while watching them practice or all kinds of games/scrimmages.

When I fly in to see my kid I often stay there in Red Rock. You don't get the strip and all that but you get everything else and yeah the hiking there alone is fantastic. Might be dropping in on her in September (that's if my wife doesn't buy her a ticket to come to us) at least I want to but we'll see how things go. I miss the F out of Vegas that's for sure.
