Preseason things that coaches got right, other things that fans may have gotten right...

"Not drafting an OL player high because talent was already on the roster to succeed."
This was discussed ad nauseum in the offseason. I share Merlin's sentiments in that our OL looked pretty good overall, but they weren't asked to do what will be needed. Credit McVay. However, the NFL adjusts quickly and there will be a time where we will have to stretch the field. IMO, that will be the time to evaluate the accuracy in your statement.

I really hope it comes to fruition, but I admit to not being as optimistic about is as others here. Hopefully Noteboom improves and Blythe shows he's an average center when we need to go downfield. I feel very good about the other 3 and love having Edwards as an option.

Iggle injuries piling up

In the first half:

Most of Washington’s pass rush success came on the blitz and they had a lot of outside pressure on Wentz. They blitzed a lot. Washington was tackling soundly too.

The Eagles looked good in the first half. Wentz was accurate and their run game was working well. Wentz had a beautiful 55 yard bomb to Jaylen Reagor. Their offense looked crisp. Then Wentz threw his first Int and his accuracy suddenly dropped off.

Malik Jackson and Fletcher were giving the Oline problems. I worry a bit about Noteboom and Blythe in this game. They will likely struggle with those two. Washington had more success attacking the edges of that defense but in the first half kept attacking between the tackles. Haskins was very inaccurate for nearly the entire first half. Late in the second it was like he flipped a switch.

overall Wentz had time and was able to tak
Yeah I watched their game vs Wash last night and was surprised how one-sided the early part of the game was. The Eagles pretty much had things under control in the first half.

Malik Jackson was a beast. Cox didn't look like his normal self, in fact he looked heavier to me like he put on weight and it's hurting his movement. But that DL is more than capable of blowing up some shit if our OL isn't on their game. Also Schwartz is really good schematically in his fronts of isolating matchups, so I expect he'll load up some pre-snap A gap looks to get a look at Boom & Blythe.

Wentz is a different dude when he's got a run game. Like a lot of QBs. But he's definitely a big threat with that arm and while he's streaky if you get the "on" Wentz you're in trouble.

Their LT Peters is a fatass. He can be had. Not sure whether we can take advantage though with our blindside options, we'll see.

I think this is going to be a tough game but the Rams need to get the W because that game in Buffalo is probably gonna suck.

Rams-Cowboys All-22: Robert Woods, Kenny Young featured on big plays

I don't think the Kenny Young being passed off the route video showed up in the original post so putting it below. MY god this is a beautiful defensive play by everyone involved. Just absolutely flawless in execution by everyone and gives me all the feels for our defense and how it'll perform this season. The perfect pass off by Hill to Young, Young picking it up and pursuing in stride, Ramsey blanketing his guy that lets the safety keep the middle of field to take away the crosser, Hill in perfect zone for the crosser, Kiser spying while taking initial throwing lane away by guy Young persuing, Donald hanging out giving Brockers a chance because the three guys watching Donald are just kinda like "wtf he's not clobbering us in the nuts this play?" while Brockers breezes on by. Smart scheme and love to see it executed.

TNF: Bengals at Browns

2 Awful teams.
Admittedly, I was only checking in on the game from time to time, wasnt focused solely on it.
Still and all, I thought Cincy's D was dreadful against the run, Burrow looked poised for a rookie, but I'm not sure how he'll be after taking a bunch of hits, and Baker throws the pick when game was in hand letting Cincy stay in it

After re-watching the Cowboy game I have some general thoughts...

Btw imho Everett was taken over Higbee not because of talent.

If I remember right ,Higbee had a late 1st round grade, but had some issues with drugs.

I said it after our draft that year, Higbee could be a steal if he kept his nose clean..

Also said I know that McVay knows TEs, so I'm going to trust the Rams on Everett, but I also posted, he's being over drafted.

Couple of thoughts here on Rams O and D...

If we're being realistic we're just not going to be that good against the run this year. With no A'shawn Robinson in the middle and below average ILBs I'm sure our pedestrian run defense will continue. But we definitely need to get more pass rush going as AD is going to get double and triple teamed as usual most games. Wasn't too impressed by Floyd and our outside rush, hope that improves. And most of all we need to get turnovers. Even in '17 and '18 we weren't great against the run, but we got takeaways for our offense. To me that is what's most important for this defense with our current personnel.

Offensively it really just comes down to our interior OL and how well Noteboom can hold up. This week will be a big test with Fletcher Cox lining up over him and Blythe. But outside of that I think this team is pretty well set up to make a run at the playoffs. If the oline can hold up better in pass pro, and we can start throwing the ball down the field again I think it can offset some of our deficiencies on defense.
I agree overall.
An effective passrush usually go hand in hand with creating turnovers.
I am hoping the plan was keep Dak in the pocket where he is usually average.
None of outside rushers showed any moves or ability to create pressure.

Crusader Kings II

Hell yes. Ran a really long Scotland campaign and took all of the British Isles before my dude died without having inheritance set up right (I was going to kill off some extra kids to allow the genius to inherit). That of course splintered the empire badly and I said fuck it.

lmao had the same issues with my Finland run. I didn't set up my succession laws correctly after establishing a kingdom and ended up having my uncle takeover the crown and regressed as a mere vassal.

30+ hours in that run and that's what it took for me to understand the importance of succession laws; I fucking love and hate this game.

Funny youtube after Rams v Cowgirls

Well, I agree with his assessment of Mike Nolan was really surprised the Cowboys hired him as DC. Failed Head Coach, went back as a DC and failed and then was a position coach, I guess they are hoping he's like Spagnuolo, but Spags was twice the DC that Nolan every was IMHO.
It was just a comedy piece. You didnt have to get all personal.

Signed~ Mike Nolan’s Mom

Something Your Parents Kept From You and Pissed You OFF!

Wow man, that's pretty amazing stuff. Good on you for becoming who you are today.
Haha you have no idea. I could write a fuckin book. Lol

I dont have much of a relationship with my mother. She is a good grandmother. But we don't speak much. Not of anything important. I dont think I've told her i loved her or hugged her since I was 10.

I grew from her example. I saw what her and my father were and the life they were living and had the wherewithal to know I needed to be different.
