RULE SUMMARY VIEW OFFICIAL RULE
PLAYERS IN A DEFENSELESS POSTURE

Prohibited contact against a player who is in a defenseless posture is:
  1. forcibly hitting the defenselessplayer’s head or neck area with the helmet, facemask, forearm, or shoulder, even if the initial contact is lower than the player’s neck, and regardless of whether the defensive player also uses his arms to tackle the defenselessplayer by encircling or grasping him
2. lowering the head and making forcible contact with the crown or ”hairline” parts of the helmet against any part of the defenseless player’s body

Aaron Donald’s ribs

Yeah since cartilage obviously isn't muscle there's no direct way to strengthen that by weightlifing even though it's somewhat reinforced by strong abdominal muscles.

My biggest concern above the others is this injury, where I'm unsure that we get a 100% or even 90% Donald on game day vs Packers. Sure 90% is better than most others, but I really don't want him operating at less than 100 if we are to have a chance to win.

I'm recalling a long ago playoff game where a certain defensive star by the name of Jack Youngblood suffered that broken leg. In the following title game and SB he wasn't the destructive force that I was accustomed to. Sure it was better to see him out there than MIA but I tell people what a pass rush we'd have in the SB with him at 100%. Bradshaw would have little time to launch those 2nd half bombs. What if, woulda, coulda, I know.

And we know a broken leg is more serious than torn rib cartilage (a little more at the closest) but it's still cause for concern. The effect on a player could be similar though both injuries are totally different (again, obviously). He had labored breathing after the injury which looked like broken ribs or a punctured lung. Labored breathing could screw up his stamina big time. The motor needs to be constantly running. Also don't want the enemy team poking at it during the game. In times past that would happen when a player has a known injury so there could even be a subtle rib jab here and there.

My temporary solution.... flak jacket.

Leonard Floyd latest first-round pass-rusher to be revived by Los Angeles Rams

Floyd is not stupid.
He has to know the impact that Aaron Donald has on his ability to make sacks.

He should resign with the Rams for a reasonable amount and then have that same contingency to make a couple million more if he gets over 12 sacks.

It would definitely help his reputation and he's young enough that he could still sign that crazy big contract in a couple of years after he's earned a few playoff wins and a few Pro Bowls.
Right now the salary cap just does not appear to be capable of being manipulated any more than it has. It's been reworked more than Nancy Pelosi's face & neck has to the point of breakage. Hard big UGLY decisions will need to be made in order to keep Floyd for another one or two seasons.

The loss of Floyd/ Ebukam with only Hollins/Okoronkwo & damaged Lewis will need a serious amount of addressing in the draft meaning Snead will have to utilize this teams high valued few 2nd-day draft selections to attempt to fill the loss of both starters.

Kevin Demoff & Les Snead is going to have to make some sacrifices of at least 2 good Ram players. But Floyd being resigned along with keeping Staley together one more season might serve to the greater good.

I pointed this out before but Rams in 2021 will have under contract four OT's besides Havenstein there's swing OT Joseph Noteboom & 3 RT's in Bobby Evans/ Tremayne Anchrum & Chandler Brewer.. Havenstein's contract would break loose $7 million at least.

Aaron Rodgers is 1-6 Against All-Pro Cornerbacks in His Career

Yeah, you're right. I just don't like rolling with a backup in a playoff game. We saw that Goff was functional, and if our OL shows up, that should be enough. I think having the confidence of a player like Goff out there is an important intangible.
Beisdes, I hear GB's Dline isn't that stiff against the run, but that's just what others have said....

McVay asked for suggestions

It could help to go to a cold area to practice but it takes a human body two weeks to fully acclimate to differing temperatures. It’s going to suck for them, especially the guys on the sidelines. But they are athletes. My middle school son and his friends wear shorts all year and we have been hitting the 20’s all week.

if they can keep their hands warm and a clear head in the cold air maybe they will be good to go

I really do think they should go somewhere cold to practice - or at least put the footballs in the freezer

Cam Akers had a monster game.

I’m a bit of a draft-nik & I love value in RB’s. Have to add a guy like T.Lewis because I love the value of a OLB.

Maurice Drew (Jones)
Born to Sidney Gayles and Andrea Drew, Jones-Drew was raised by his maternal grandparents, Maurice and Christina Jones. At the height of his college career in 2005, his grandfather suffered a heart attack while walking into the Rose Bowl to see Jones-Drew play against Rice University on September 10, 2006. Coach Dorrell broke the news to Drew on the sideline during the game, and he ran to the locker room and left to go to the hospital. To honor the man who raised him, he had his entire legal surname affixed to his jersey, making him "Maurice Jones-Drew."[44][45][46]

Jones-Drew is a father of three with two sons (Maurice II and Madden) and one daughter (Alayah). He is married to Ashley Jones-Drew (2012–present)[47] He is also a cousin of former Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety T. J. Ward.

Just want to thank my Brothers in chat today. It was great.

I hope yall stay out! Lol its nice not being so crowded. We have actual conversation. We get 50 people in there and it will be impossible to keep up

I can relate in a sense. Be nice to see more people. But, when you've been together most of season with regulars.. Then get pounded in playoffs and SB with Johnny come lately's.. It's different for sure. Kind of a fine line here. I'd rather be with regulars who I consider real life friends. I know we can start multiple chats no? Have to look into that.. lol Regardless come in people and check it out.

Somebody pinch me.

You shut your whorish mouth with that falling short talk!! We go to Superbowl and win, yes?

Some of us are realist around here.

The Rams are who I thought they ARE! A franchise that is built the right way.

Will they win the SuperBowl? I say The Rams need to go to Green Bay & win first.I’ve been a Rams fan & seen better Ram teams lose in the cold.
I personally love these type of games & hope Jared Goff gets his confidence back.I see some good things & really like the way Kiser & Goff handled themselves for We not ME & made plays.
