Nine NFL bandwagons to hop on in 2021: Tennessee Titans, Joe Burrow and Brandon Staley top the list

Titans and Chargers have that bandwagon feel... lots of people will pick them as their favorite.
One very successful fantasy football player that I’m friends with said he won’t be picking Julio. Stats support that a receiver switching teams often doesn’t match his prior success in the first year.

Personally I think he’s going to do well in that offense and would not be surprised to see the Titans win the AFC.

Mike Florio at it again: Ripping McVay calling him a fake

This was my perception as well. I work with a Lions fan and he told me that's not actually true. "A lot of games" is subjective but IMO based on the numbers he's been durable enough.

Well, the issue with Stafford is that he does get hurt. He plays through injuries. He should be credited for that. But it sometimes reduces his effectiveness. The thing that worries me, though, is the back injury from 2019. There was a lot of talk about how it was healed and would not be a long-term issue. I hope that's true. But teams aren't always upfront about those sort of things (cough Gurley cough).

Les Snead stole OL Austin Corbett from Browns for a 5th-round pick

The best way to predict what the offensive line, *may* look like next year is to look at the game-day actives this year.

Anchrum
Noteboom
Shelton
As I recall, were all gameday actives.
Add Brewer to that mix and we'll see who they re-sign.

Like I said, they're all in for THIS year and it's hard to predict what our line will look like next year at this juncture.

Van Jefferson learned from rookie mistakes and is 'a lot more comfortable' in Rams offense now

"I think (he) does a great job of doubling people up," Stafford said during a video conference Wednesday. "He's a really good separator. Plays big as well. Has enough long speed to get down the field, and has a nice size mismatch on a lot of corners as well."

McVay noticed a difference when the team convened for its offseason program.

"You can see he's really put in the work," McVay said during a June 4 video conference. "He's come back, establishing himself as a legitimate dude, a guy we're counting on for big things."

"I've been very, very pleased with Van Jefferson," McVay said. "Very excited about what he's going to do to finish up this offseason, and I know he's going to come back and hit the ground running in training camp. But we're expecting very big things from Van Jefferson. He has been a major bright spot this offseason, and somebody that I'm extremely excited about. And I know I share that feeling with the rest of the coaches."
That's a lot of praise from McVay. Sometimes I take is positive comments with a grain of salt as it views to actually getting playing time. I don't think that's the case with Jefferson.
Unless things change, Kupp may be on a snap count or something of the sort.
So i think Van will get more reps this year and it sounds as if he will be more than ready
to ease Kupps workload.

Maybe you're right but I think that's gonna come down to Jefferson and how well he plays. I think if he kills it in camp he's going to win himself a nice rotation spot and from there he might get plenty of reads on deeper routes.

It could be smart to keep Woods and Kupp fresher by getting Jefferson more snaps. He has qualities of both Woods and Kupp plus others. He is probably faster and obviously bigger than both. I don't know what McVay will decide as far as snap percentage. By giving Jefferson more snaps CBs are going to have to make fast adjustments. Throw in Jackson and Atwell CBs will be trying to make adjustments all game long.

Inside Rams’ scouting of Robert Rochell: Matching ‘eye-popping’ data with film, projections with Jalen Ramsey

All rookies are slow as they are mentally processing what they see and not simply reacting off of what they know. Long was the same way and now he sounds like he's putting it together. Rochell came in a lot more raw than Long as well. But these reps will serve him well going down the road. Now he has film to study and critique his own play. I don't have a problem or concerns at this stage.

CB is probably the most technique-heavy position on the field. From what can be gleaned is that he isn't lost out there just a step off in his reactions. Scott was also, raw coming in and looked slow in his reactions. But he's in his third year and his play has taken a big step up and looks to be a factor in the rotation now and not just a STs player. With most mid and late-round players it takes 2-3 years to make that step. I would expect Rochell to take those bigs steps next year and the year after.

Marcus Peters never had the kind of speed Rochell has. Peters was never disciplined in his play. He was forever glory hunting and you can't have that selfish kind of play on your team. Roby-Coleman bought into that example and it's a big reason he's not a Ram.

Any Smokers out there?

This post makes me feel lazy. Mine is a pellet smoker. I set the temp and the damn thing does all the work. Lol
I had a version of that same pit boss for many years until I upgraded to the pit boss pro series.

I loved that grill but there were a few things that eventually made me upgrade.

1. Emptying the fire pot in the older versions is a real pain in the ass, which you should be doing at the minimum of every few grills. Having to remove the grates, then deflector shield, then vacuum out the pot is a real pain in the ass and you will find yourself doing it less and less. Inevitably when you dont empty the pot, pellets will over flow the pot, smoke, smolder, and combust. I had more then a few fires with that grill.

2. The igniter went bad. I replaced it, but it would always blow a fuse. I finally was able to time the popping of the fuse and the ignition stage of the pellets, and would unplug the igniter from the control panel just as the pellets started smoking. Never blew a fuse again, but that would also become a pain in the ass.

Dont cheap out on the pellets. The couple of times I had a fire, I originally chalked it up to not emptying the fire pot, the second time I am certain that it was the pellets. Pouring low quality pellets in you could see a tremendous amount of dust coming out of the bag. Started using good quality pellets and I never had a issue again.

Outside of those few issues, I loved that grill and I think you will be extremely pleased with it.

New Foam Can Stop .50 cal Rds

FYI
Interesting they didn't mention it for vests or weight. It probably would be bulky but who knows about it in the future. If they can get the cost of transparent aluminum down it might be a replacement for vest plates.

Jared Goff on the Rich Eisen Show 06/08/2021

So what does Holmes do? He drafted a top-tier LT who is probably one of their starters this year with their first pick. Later in the draft, he took what could be one of the more underrated possession-type receivers, something every QB needs. If they can get any kind of run game they can win some games.

Speaking of Holmes and his first draft, he most certainly looks to be following Snead's playbook. He emphasized defense this draft and it's clear he was heavily focused upon players with high analytic grades. There was a clear emphasis upon speed and quickness. It most certainly looks like a pretty good draft overall with high marks by the Detroit media. Like the Rams I think Holmes focused on the Lions weak defense this draft. OL and WRs probably next year.

Anthony Lynn was a poor HC but he's probably going to be a fairly good OC. His experience with pocket passer QBs is extensive considering the QBs the Chargers had, i.e. Rivers and Herbert. He looks like he's going to run the same type of offense the Chargers ran which is a pretty good offense for Jared after all it was the same run-first philosophy McVay used in 2018.
One They Lions picked three guys that I felt fit the Rams and likely would have been on Snead’s draft board. Onwuzireke, Alim McNeill, and Melifonwu.

I can’t help but wonder if Holmes was still in LA if any of them would have been chosen by the Rams. Supposedly there was a DLineman they liked that went before they picked in round two.

Rams looking at a huge haul in 2022 draft

All you have to do is look at who the Rams got on day 3 this year. Harris, E. Brown, Funk, Skowronek, and Garrett. Day 3 picks are more easily traded as most teams are just taking flyers. Last year they had 5 day 3 picks and Hopkins, Fuller, and Anchrum are still on the roster with Fuller a starter taken in the 6th. With Snead drafting by analytics and trait grading, he has a much higher percentage of hits than misses compared to most team's day three picks.

After reading Jourdan's article on how they pick players I don't discount Snead's ability to find good players on day 3. Most people think picks after round 5 are garbage and Snead, has shown they aren't. In 2019 the Rams still have Gaines (rd 4), Edwards (5), Scott (7). I really liked the Scott pick and felt he would become more than a STs player and had the talent to be a solid rotational DB which he has become. I feel the same about Garrett this year.

Especially in the 6th and 7th rounds, Snead finds players who develop into solid depth or better when most teams don't.
