My confession on Goff

That has been his ultimate Achilles heal is his inability to give up on a play. Needs to learn to throw the ball away too. He’s going to have to learn that with the Lions because they don’t have the talent down field to force stuff often.
Honestly I see that as his biggest problem, hell watching a few rookies today and they were comfortable throwing it away and resetting. Better than a fumble or pick 6.

WEEK 1 - The Late Games

Wouldn't be surprised if Rodgers threw the game to try and get out of GB.
Don't know about everyone else's opinion of Rodgers, but I think he cares about one thing and one thing only
and that's himself.
Again JMHO but he was born with the tremendous talent to be the best ever, but I call him a team cancer.
Because he is incapable of trusting and loving his teammates enough to be a part of the brotherhood required to
win it all.
He didn’t look interested that’s for sure.

What Would You Do For A Super Bowl Win?

Sure that looks bad.

But the story came from the Boston Herald - and then was later redacted. It came about in tandem with filming the Jets.

In order to believe they actually did this, you have to believe the Patriots or the NFL paid the Boston Herald to redact the story which is tin foil.
No, I'd have to believe that the Boston Herald retracted the story because it couldn't confirm it or its source recanted. That doesn't mean the Patriots were innocent. You still haven't reckoned with all the behavior from the NFL. You don't destroy the evidence in the way they did if it exonerates the Patriots. And then there's the fact that a bunch of the guys on the field that day are saying their experiences corroborate the story.

PREGAME Bears at Rams - Pregame Thread

I was hoping it would be our rookie CB Robert Rochell. I have not liked what I have seen from David Long since he arrived. In the past Long being on the field in coverage is a certain completed pass waiting to happen.
We'll see. I do think it will end up being Rochell. just a matter of when.
If long struggles badly we also may see Burgess in that spot.

How about a warmup Rams vs Bears 2020

This team is better than last year's Rams. But you can see the Bears have enough to win if the Rams get sloppy. If the Rams play their A game they win going away.

Huge upgrade at QB for the Rams. (Dalton vs Foles at QB for Bears a wash IMO)
OL better with a year together with better coaching. Better center, blocking calls improved with Stafford and Allen vs Goff & Blythe.
Michel is far better than Brown and Henderson playing as Akers was out.
Better depth at WR and TE this year.
DE position improved with Williams in rotation (Lewis & Brockers in 2020)
Darious Williams far better CB than Troy Hill

Henderson & Brown combined for about 150 yds on the ground. Michel is a huge upgrade over Brown.

Rams Power Rankings: Week 1 and Priscos' smoking crack again.

Yeah, issue is he's the fastest at getting it out fast. But I agree with the pressure, commit to short hot routes and let our CBs lock down the deep options man2man. I mean, they might get a miracle TD once, but Brady will throw picks if he stays in the game more than one quarter.
I can tell you this. It's a copycat league. Defensively Tampa Bay made a model the Chiefs are trying to copy. Go big, as in size, at DL and make the offense one dimensional with 4 stopping the run. The trick is still being able to get pressure.

That's why the Chiefs bumped Chris Jones to DE and Reed is filling that spot next to Nnadi. Then you can focus on your coverages without having to blitz so much while still stopping the run.

As for the Rams they have Donald. I'm guessing they built their DL to get pressure in the back field because Donald may be the best to ever do it. The counter to that is a hard nose running game, which Tampa has.

In the end I don't know this Ram team all that well. When Brockers, Fowler, and Little left I don't know the guys who replaced them or even the style of the DC.

Flying in for Bears game - Tailgate?

Does this site have a large SoCal season ticket holding presence? I have never really been able to figure that out.

If so, we need a party organizer to develop a gang. And I am willing to do what I can from afar. I know the ROD peeps we got to know at the SB was nothing short of GREAT and FUN RAMS fans to hang out with. God that was so much fun!

GO RAMS!!!
Unfortunately this site doesn't have as many local game attendees compared to other sites like RFU. At least in the past few seasons. I'm gonna shoot you a text Brotha as far as a meet up for Manana!

September 11, 2001

This is the type of thread you wished there more emoticons to share.

There is not the time we all have to share how this event affected all of us. But it did. And some unfairly more than others.

I stand 20 years later still in horror of the moment.

Evil will always be evil that views good as a weakness.

We will forever keep our heads on a swivel. It is always just around the corner. As it always has been.

And we will be ready. It is what makes us all.........Americans.

Rams House Pump up vid and Cowherd Stafford and Mayfield

Been seeing patterns about this team for a long time.

I called and went into detail our abysmal '16 year and stated in January when we hired McVay in '17 that we'd make the playoffs as a wild card. We did.

This team... it's almost hard to project because the synergies cause errors in my brain... the values get too high.

If this team comes out fast, it legit could go undefeated or close to it.

If there are growing pains like we saw with TB last year, then I think 11 wins is reasonable.

But... the Rams haven't had this level of offensive competence since the GSOT in '01 and we never had this good of a defense at the same time.

Yes, we have a few tough games on the schedule and our division is a woodchipper, but I really think this team is gonna straight body the competition.

I see us at 14-3 +/- 3 games... so 17-0 to 11-5 at the floor.

I wish I could be more accurate, but there are two outstanding unknowns out there... our health and will we be able to shake the Shanahan monkey off our back?

But yeah, I feel good about this call. I rewatched the second Rams/Cards game last year and the number of WIDE OPEN throws against a defense playing to be in the playoffs was really something... and that was with Wolford. Stafford takes that to another level. We're back to forcing defenses to defend every single blade of grass... ESPECIALLY the deep middle which Goff really struggled to attack.

This is gonna be an amazing team and I also think we're gonna see a few rooks/2nd year players really step up.

10 questions before the 2021 NFL season kicks off

1. How will the loss of the Rams top shelf captain/safety and leading tackler (84) John Johnson impact the secondary?

2. Will betting on Brian Allen to get the job done make Rams fans forgive management for not drafting a center?

3. Will the addition of Raheem Morris make the loss of defensive coordinator guru Brandon Staley an afterthought?

4. Were the Rams smarting to let their 3rd best cornerback Troy Hill get away in free agency?

5. Are the losses of 3 key defensive players Brockers, Morgan Fox and Ebukam nothing to be concerned about?

6. Will the Rams be bitten by ignoring the Injury concerns with OLB's Ogbonnia Okoronkwo and Terrell Lewis?

7. Did the Rams draft brass make the correct decision by selecting WR Tutu Atwell with their first pick?

8. Will the Rams miss their talented but underachieving #2 TE Gerald Everett? (Mundt-Hopkins-Harris)

9. Can DeSean Jackson stay healthy long enough to play more than 5 or 7 games?

10. Is the addition of Matthew Stafford the difference from being a SB contender to a SB Champion?

I'll give it a shot:

1) I can't say Rapp, Fuller and Burgess will make up for the loss of Johnson. Buts lets remember, JJ was not an all pro. Not even a pro bowler. He was a solid blue chipper but its not like they're trying to replace great player. The only issue is experience there. So we'll have to see how it plays out. Fuller was very good before he got hurt.

2) This is another lets see how it plays out scenario. If Allen can just be serviceable they will be fine. Playing Corbett at center woulda meant two position changes on the line. Now its just one. Better for continuity. If nothing else Allen knows the system well enough by now.

3) I have a feeling McVay had a bigger hand in the defense than people realize. He felt confident enough to let Wade Phillips walk because he wanted a bigger hand in the defense. Wade ran the show with autonomy. He hired a first time DC and I seriously doubt he let Staley have full reign early on. Sure, Staley ran the best defense in the league so he should be given kudos for that. But McVay has more impact there than we know in my opinion.

4) Hill was a decent cornerback. But again, its not like we're replacing an all pro. Hill was a notch above a JAG in my opinion. His loss won't be as hard to replace.

5) Brockers was a good player. But at this point in his career another guy who's a notch above a JAG. Shouldn't be hard to replace. Fox was a rotational guy and another JAG or slightly better. Ebukam was the classic case of a JAG. Every time I watched him play I just thought Meh. These guys will be easier to replace than Johnson.

6) I don't think they're putting too many eggs in Obo's and Lewis's basket. They know what they have in these guys as far as health. I'm sure they already planned for it. Anything they get outta them is a bonus.

7) Another one that remains to be seen. Myself, I wanted a center in that spot. But Tutu is an explosive type player. I can see him being better than Tavon Austin because he seems to want the ball more than Austin did. If they threw a pass to Austin he had to be open and the ball had to be right there for him. Otherwise he never made much an effort to get after it. He was fast but so is everyone in the NFL. He never adjusted. Tutu's a rookie so you never know how long it will take for him to adjust to the faster pro game. Fortunately they have Jackson if Tutu isn't quite ready.

8) No, I don't think they will miss Everett. Harris looks like a guy who can win contested battles or outrun the defender. He's faster than Everett. Mundt is a good blocking tight end but the defense better not think of him as an afterthought. He can catch passes because everyone's worried about the other guys. Bottom line, Everett was another JAG. Not hard to replace.

9) I wouldn't surprised if Jackson is all of a sudden healthier than before now that he's on a legit contender and knows he's going to be counted on for big plays.

10) Yup. McVay will have the confidence to call plays he was hesitant to call with Goff.
