What's your weekly Rams/football routine?

I don't really have rituals specific for football.

Certain days are different - when the weather is nice in the fall I like to hit the golf course so I might DVR the beginnings of the games.
I sometimes like to start the games later and DVR them anyway - it seems to lessen the stress when i can fast forwards if shit is going south.

When I was younger i was much much worse - i had to be by myself.. would break shit. Being superstitious about everything I'm still a little bit that way but I'm much better.

I often like to play Madden in the morning to get my football juices going. I have a 3 year old but he isn't interested in football yet... yet.

during the week I watch a lot of player and Mcvay pressers. I'm like LJramsfan above I only tend to listen to Coach McVay and Staffords pressers - mostly anyway. Ramsey's can be entertaining when he answers questions because he tends to be combative about some questions.

20 Random They Might (Not) Be Giants Thoughts

Actually, I wouldn't say that. I would just say that the malfeasance/misfeasance hadn't caught up to them. But the two drafts we had after the Eric Dickerson trade - which should have been a bonanza - produced almost nothing of lasting value outside of Flipper Anderson, and a year after that movie came out (if I remember correctly, 1989), the bottom fell out and the Rams entered a dark age that wasn't exorcised until 1999 when they were firmly in St. Louis.

I *AM* absolutely convinced her hiring of a retread Chuck Knox in 1992 was her attempt to drive the final nail into the Rams LA coffin at that time.

Week 7 Power Rankings.

So far the only team to really hit him was SF and if they had a QB it would have been the cards 1st loss.
I agree, and when he was hit, he came up sore. He has not made it through a season without dings and his performance dropping off.
They have been really good and the D is definitely surprised me, but I really see this roll they are on slowing way down the second half. Their schedule is pretty tough. I won't be surprised if they go 6 and 5 or 5 and 6 the rest of the season. Still playoff worthy, which is way more than I thought.
I don't think JJ Watt makes it through a whole season either.

Demise of the Rams Defense

Our defense that year was one of the best units in the league all season long and also played well in the playoffs.

They were incredibly stingy on points allowed, giving up only 15.1 points per game which was good for 4th in the league that season.

The run defense was also particularly stout, they allowed only 3.5 yards per carry which was also ranked 4th in the league.

The defense ended up saving our asses in the playoffs too, as the Tampa game would have ended in disappointment if we had not been so good on that side of the ball.

This year is way different from '99 in that way. We don't have a defense that is going to go start to finish with high performance. But that's ok if they finish strong. And IMO if we want to win it all they're going to have to finish strong.

They are in the top 10 now in points allowed, and have a chance to climb higher vs some opponents coming up, but they also are going to be missing Williams so we'll see how that goes. I think a big part of it is Morris too and how he calls the game, so I expect him to get better as we go forward as well.

What the Rams look like to me right now is that team who has the crazy upside and might turn everything on at the right time. On both sides of the ball. But all that's gonna come down to injuries and how well Morris picks up the defense.

I agree with your assessment, but I believe the GSOT run defense was really good, but benefited from the Rams blowing so many teams out that they abandoned the run to play catch up. Thank goodness they had a great game against the bucs and had just enough to preserve the win against the Titans.

Had super bowl 34 gone to OT and we didn't get the ball first our defense would have been in some trouble. They were gassed by the end of the game.

Here's a pic of some "Dolphins" fans in Miami

Boy, I misunderstood what blood pudding was, even though my Great Grandparents loved it (but never served to me). I

Black pudding is a distinct regional type of blood sausage originating in Great Britain and Ireland. It is made from pork or beef blood, with pork fat or beef suet, and a cereal, usually oatmeal, oat groats or barley groats. The high proportion of cereal, along with the use of certain herbs such as pennyroyal, serves to distinguish black pudding from blood sausages eaten in other parts of the world.[
I ate it in Dublin and had the farts like my bum was a giant hot air balloon! Farting over the cliffs of Moher

A few impressions from that Giant game…

Okay, Lewis is winning me over. Not only with his play but mostly because he is showing that he can stay healthy enough to be a consistent contributor. His health was always the only concern from his fanbase. Kudos to Lewis and Reggie and his stellar crew.

Another encouraging thing with Lewis; he was on the field late in this game.

If he was being seriously nursed along, hobbled, etc… they would have pulled him.

So, I am reading into that; his health must be good right now.

Cards all in, trade for Ertz

Some unbelievable numbers there for the Rams.

Rams had #1 D last year, yet one year later we're dead last in cap spending on D? Wow.

The contracts for Gurley and Goff really were huge mistakes, kinda amazed the Rams manage to stay among the top teams despite the dead cap hits they're carrying. Makes me optimistic for future years-- so long as they don't make another one of those big contract mistakes.

Floyd's contract & 2022 CAP hit will definitely raise the defensive side of the financials.

Mundt Knee Injury Looks Serious

Looking at the waiver wire at recent RB moves...

Looks like both are currently FAs. This shit is depressing. Patrick would be a quick install into the offense since he was in Cincy and SF, well both know the system actually.

Lets Deal With Fan Overconfidence, Fallacy

You're talking about the difference in playing a well deserved undefeated team
and a well deserved winless team.
If I'm not mistaken the conversation was about losing to teams that are very bad.
Two completely different things.
Yeah, I really didn't think the Cards were that good until after the Browns game so at the time of my post I thought it appropriate. But lets face it, that cards game was just as disappointing as the Jets game.

GDT: Rams at Giants

Kingsbury has a habit of imploding over the second half of seasons. In 2019, Arizona started 3-3-1 and finished 2-7. In 2020, Arizona started 5-2 and finished 3-6.
I’ll give you 2020, but 2019 is an absolutely horrendous example. The team actually started out 0-3-1 before stringing out some wins against some other bad teams before going up against more clearly talented teams.
