Von Miller placement prediction

Noting that Miller has recently been nursing an ankle injury suffered on Oct. 21 on that ankle he has an issue last season & was IR'd. I see no reason to rush this aging veteran pass rusher back into HD action at any Rams front five positions. Rams are well-stocked at this point.

I posted on this same question right after the Miller trade was announced & there was really not much posted to directly answer this question then.

I would plan on utilizing Miller after the bye based on seeing how he is practicing with the first team DL/LB ing unit in various positions. Having healthy OLB'ers Floyd/ Lewis/ Okorankwo/ Garrett/ Lawler/ Jones provides the Rams to give Miller two extra weeks of nursing on that ankle & that is what I would do.

I would think that Miller would be part of keeping the Ram main pass rushers fresh as possible playing Miller all over the front five mixings and blending up the pass rush packages as much as possible. That would be my plan.
Good points. I didn't see explosive moves from Miller in just watching some highlights from this year. It will be interesting to see how much he plays. I was going to post that the Rams can gradually fit him in over the next few games. Like you say there is no reason to rush him in at this point.

At this point, it is hard to say where the Rams decide to play both Floyd and Miller . The Rams could move them back and forth to see what works best. Floyd may have the ability to play either side the same. He does have younger legs. Overall I think the Rams can keep him fresh with T Lew and Obo getting valuable PT.

MVA - Most Valuable Assistant

Not really replying to your post, just got a question.
I know at times we have done well with our running game,
but how do you feel about our run blocking at the moment, especially
our ability to get second level consistently.

Maybe it's because we are unable to run much 12. It just seems
we were doing a better job second level last year.
Maybe I'm nuts, definitely not ruling that out.
Just curious as to what you're seeing.
I think our run game is above average and with the right back for the situation we can depend on it which it's been a while for me to say that. Also I don't sweat the 12 stuff because I expect our OL can win vs most fronts even if you go 4 wide. We have a good OL this year no doubt in my mind, question is can they get us past the physical teams like the two we have ahead on the schedule.

Where we are not up with the best running teams is our RB room. Henderson has been a good all around back for us thus far but he doesn't do anything exceptionally well. He's not really explosive. I mean he can go when he gets a seam but he doesn't stand out among his peers in that. He's good in the pattern but not great, his ability to come down with the ball is kind of iffy if there's a guy on him it seems. He can be stopped by one tackler too which bugs me. But I'm that poster who has stupidly high expectations with RBs I guess because, well, we have been spoiled with great ones. :startstruck:

I was hoping Michel would be in there by now rounding out this group by just mashing but he's been dinged up. So he's shown flashes of giving us a guy who can go against physical fronts but we'll see. I do think if he can stay healthy he should get on a roll behind this line because they move dudes up front and Michel by himself is instinctive and tough to bring down.

I also think there are a few things working against the run game being featured. We were mashing a bit early vs the Cards but then fell behind and didn't get that chance to really feature it so that demonstrates that the defense is important in this. Also McVay generally doesn't want to feature the run game. The only times he's done that are the Dallas playoff game and games where he's killing the clock to preserve the lead. And now he's got Stafford who can do that move the chains mode when he needs to. So I look at our run game like a bit of a sleeping Giant, where I think it could end up being really good but we're not sure if maybe it's Sleeping Beauty and we won't find out for sure until the playoffs.

Snead's kids respecting their dad

No it was inspired by the Michael Jordan "Fuck them Kids" meme which went viral years ago.
View attachment 49568
The context surrounding this Jordan meme is hilarious because it shows how much of a ruthless competitor he was. He was making an appearance at a kids basketball camp hosted by Chris Paul. He said a few words to the hundreds of kids attending, and then Chris Paul grabbed the microphone and issued a challenge to MJ. He said that at his old age he bets MJ cant take 3 deep jump shots without missing...and if he did miss, he would have to give every single kid at the camp a free pair of Jordans. MJ went on to take like 5 shots and made every single one. All while the kids were surrounding the court and screaming and yelling, trying to get him to miss so they'd get free shoes. But nope, MJ sunk every shot and thus the meme was born.
Haha!!! That's hilarious! I never heard of that at all. You explained it very well. Thank you.

That mug is awesome!

MVP Race

It's part of the NFL bylaws -- Tom Brady must spend his entire career in the worst division in football and get a free pass the Conference Championship game each season. And once he leaves a division, other teams may finally be allowed to play above .500 ball.
Yes, and we all know how the NFL feels about it's bylaws. They must secretly love the guy. They did burn the tapes and gave NE a slap on the wrist afterall.

Jacob Harris playing WR, not TE - per McVay

When did they say that?
All they're saying is that he's the third tight end and he's worthy of the 53 and they're not ready to give up on him yet.

That's all I need to know at the moment.
According to this guy:
Right now Hopkins is where he deserves and needs to be.
According to the Rams organization
He's been inactive all season. After being inactive for most of last season.
Bypassed on the roster by a practice squad player.
That tells me the organization is not too happy with him.
It's puzzling as to why they are freezing his spot on the 53. Ought to cut him and send him to PS if they think he has any value

Anyone a member at LaRamsfans.com?

I was a member, they e-mailed me about a month ago wanting to welcome back members who hadn't posted in awhile and I didn't think anything of it. After seeing your post, I went to their website and also could no longer get in, so I'm assuming they purged the accounts of those of us who haven't been participating for some time. It's a decent site, but just moves very slow as their membership isn't nearly as large or as involved as ROD. It's their loss imo.
I received one last month too from Gary (?)

Methinks Cardinal Fans Are A Lil' Worried...

The Rams reeeeeaally need to destroy the Whiners this year. It's only the oldest hate-fest in the NFC west.
Way back to the Coastal Division days, this one goes.
Let's lay an egg on 'em.
I still think they are very tough.I’ll wait for this Sunday Nights game first before peaking ahead.
Sort of lol still at how the season is going.Tony,Les, & Kevin really do an excellent job putting this team together.
Mcvay 2nd winningest coach to 50 in Rams history.Still he needs to get over that Shanahan thing. His buddy in Arizona runs a game program as well.Pete Carroll is as good as it gets.
TBay seems to be getting a free pass, but The Rams beat them which puts them on top of the division.

Nothin but a dope ass video on the Rams

He says 1.5 to 2 starters makes a good draft, then says 2018 was a bad draft because all we got out of it was SJD and Allen. Well that's two starters, bud. Plus Obo and Noteboom as key backups/rotational players that have had some time. And JFM who he mentioned, but neglected that he was a part of the super bowl defense and played pretty well that one season.

The video was good, but had several things like that where he would say one thing, then contradict himself later. Oh well. Good video overall.
That draft was looking busty until this year. It goes to show that it takes time for the guys in the trenches to develop.

Power Rankings a joke

NFL is riding the Cowoboys hard right now. Want to see an even bigger joke? Here are their top 5 QBs:

Prescott
Murray
Brady
Jackson
Stafford

Stafford has more yards than everyone above him other than Brady (Prescott has the least, and has only played 6 games due to injury, yet remained in the 1 spot)l, and more TD's than everyone other than Brady (Jackson has only thrown 10 TD's and has rushed for another 2, wtf??)

Stafford is tied with Prescott for the least picks thrown, but again, Stafford has 2 more games than him, and 8 more TD's.

Stafford has the highest YPA, and third highest completion percentage (behind Prescott and Murray).

Stafford also has only 1 fumble, everyone else has multiple, Murray has 7, Prescott 6, Jackson 5, and Brady 3.

Stafford outperforming them and yet ranks 6.

So yeah, sounds like the NFL.com writers have been told to get down on their knees for the Cowboys to drive up that fan engagement.

Player of the Month - QB1

Matthew Stafford is awesome. The Rams offense is sooooooo much fun to watch this year.
My dad and I were talking about this when we were watching the Houston game. Whenever Goff went long with us, the best I could do was hope that maybe he'd hit his target. With Stafford, I almost expect it to be be a completion. My dad agreed. Stafford brings so much confidence not only to our squad, but also to us fans.
