Would you purposely lose the last game of season?

I don't think I've ever seen a team, in any sport, that won a competition while making these calculations. I think once you admit that you're afraid of a team, you're setting yourself in a losing mentality and you pay for it sooner rather than later.
You can adjust, rest some guys, etc, but never play to lose, it fucks up everyone psychologically.

Not so much afraid of the team -GB- .... but actually afraid of the weather, lol.
Whether (no pun intended) we like it or not, we're a passing team. A snow storm would be bad.

Busted Water Main

About 30 years ago I had a main water line break. I woke up one morning, went outside with my morning coffee and see all this water gushing from my lawn into the street. Turned out to be the main line from the city water line to my house. It was my responsibility not the city's because it was the main line in my yard.

I was pretty fortunate. My brother in law worked for a company that installed all the pipes and water lines for new homes. It was a Sunday and a plumber woulda been very expensive. He used his special took to turn off the water. Figured out where the leak was. Dug a hole and found the leak. Spliced new piping and it was all fixed. He said not to play him. So I tool his family to the lake and BBQ'd steaks with them. With a case of beer. A plumber woulda cost hundreds of dollars. We had a fun day fishing, eating and drinking. Lucky for us our wives drove our cars home afterwards.

Just a bit of playoff perspective

Only perhaps 3 or 4 times have the #1 seeds from both conferences made the Super Bowl. Overall the #1 seeds haven't made it to the Super Bowl as much as the other seeds. IMO the number 2 seed is the best slot. They get the #7 wildcard for their first game and play the weakest of the remaining teams the following week.

The next best seeding could be the number 5 seed (where the Rams sit currently). The Rams would play the weakest of the remaining teams in the second playoff game. That's why I'm not worried. If they beat the Cards on Monday, it's going to be in their heads if they meet in the playoffs. That is one of the impacts of Monday's game. Just like when Seattle took the division but lost their last regular-season game to the Rams. Tell me that playoff win wasn't an in-your-face moment. (So you got the division BFD) The division championship is great but the real prize is the Lombardi and winning a division is no guarantee of that. If McVay stays wedded to the run and Morris stays wedded to playing his secondary more like Staley did his the Rams will be a very tough out. With Michel as the grinder at RB and no one stops Kupp, Jefferson, Higbee, and OBJ for an entire game the Lombardi is still achievable.
This isn't true as far as seeding. They redo seeding after every round, so the #1 seed will always get the lowest seeded team and the #2 will get the strongest seed in the division round if they win the wildcard. As a 5th seed, you start with the weakest division winner, but you will most likely play the #1 seed the next round unless the #6 or #7 seed upsets in the first round.

For those who are interested the Lions won

Was watching the end of that game and though I don't always cheer for former Rams I was last sunday. Though Goff almost blew it by throwing a pick and fumbling he did hang in there. Was happy to see him celebrate running off the field. This week I saw them show the vid to his GF while she was modeling and she had a nice reaction to it. Wow what a hot babe he has and she seems like a really sweet person too...score!! Anyway I can't remember ever purposely missing a Rams game to watch another team finish. (Well maybe in the Spazz-lolo era) I missed the Powell kickoff and tuned in right when Donald caused that fumble.
I had both games streaming at the same time lol

Coach McVay Show: Breakdown of Jags WIN

There’s more to that McVay mic’d up video that I wish they had included. Game day all access shows a cool moment between him and Van Jefferson where Van let’s McVay know he appreciates him believing in him and that it gives him confidence. McVay tell him “and it’s true, it’s the truth. Great response man.”

That’s a leader of men, fellas. We can say what we want about the team’s recent struggles but I appreciate the fact that we have a coach that encourages, builds up and doesn’t shy away from letting players know he really cares about them.

Allen Day To Day: MCL Sprain

I'm that weirdo that would gladly do jury duty, but I can't.

With a seizure disorder and daily migraines, there's a high probability that I wouldn't be able to be on any jury as the wicked ass migraines can strike literally at any time.

Getting woken up by a real zinger is the strangest. It's like getting woken up BECAUSE of a hangover...

MLB owners lockout players

This whole thing is "not a good look" in times like these.

Millionaires fighting over money when average Americans are dealing with inflation and unemployment.

But, Baseball lost me years ago and I really don't know the issues.
I was booed and downvoted out of a Dodgers discussion when the lockout started. There were masses bragging about supporting the players. My stance of screw them and the owners in favors of the fans who are the only ones to lose out in this wasn’t popular. Players are going to get more money, teams will get more money and you and I pay more money to support them. It’s getting old.

vs Jaguars PFF grades best and worst

Was a seventh rounder so having him on the roster and actively contributing is already breaking expectations. Can't expect there not to be bumps with a 7th round pick. He shows potential as a 4th WR and depth/special teams player so am looking forward to watching him develop. Talent wise I don't expect him to be much more than that but I think he can be an important role player for us for years to come as he gets experience.
A 7th round rookie producing at all is a win.
Yep.. he dropped the one.. but came back with that nice catch later. I think you nailed it on his role, moving forward. I think he makes 11 personnel stronger in the run game than OBJ, for sure.. so he can contribute there while keeping the D honest enough with his ability to make a play or two in the passing game.
He's being asked to do a lot as a rookie and is doing pretty damn well, imo.. especially for a 7th rounder.

Hear me out

Well they did draft Etienne to be their #1 running back and seemed to be favored by the old college coach, Urban Meyer. I'd throw a 4th at them as Robinson was undrafted and is cheap. Will they bite, ya got me, but you never know. I know I'd feel better with Robinson taking the reins vs Hendo. I get Michel is also a good running back, but I don't think he is better than Robinson as that guy has produced 2 years in a row so far on the sorry as Jags.
Problem #2 if we trade for him he's a free agent after 2022 and we either have to sign him or we just threw away a draft pick for 1 year. We have plenty of people we should and could resign without adding another RB to that list. Henderson is also a free agent after 2022.

As for missing out on the draft pick Snead has a pretty good track record of working with McVay to get guys that can contribute. Akers, Henderson and Funk all contribute. Trust them to add a new one and the year after we likely do it again because Akers will be a free agent the year after Henderson. Robinson has performed fairly well and like all RB might want a nice payday in that 2nd contract likely even more than he's worth.

Draft RB's don't trade for them unless it's an in season emergency like with Michel which really didn't cost much.

Please, please, please…

Blueberry uniforms are bad
Blue pants with either other jersey I'm ok with

BTW we know what they'll wear already and it's bone on bone

Isn't that just for the jerseys? I swear we've worn blue/blue and bone/blue this season. That graphic implies otherwise..

EDIT: Yeah, we just wore blue/bone and that graphic has the Jaguars game under the "royal" category

GDT: Jaguars at Rams

For me, I just keep forgetting that the GDT is often like a real-time "vent thread." I enjoy discussing the Rams before and after games, but.... DURING games... I guess I just never learn to stay away from the GDT. So many ppl seem to get smug satisfaction over finding a 100 different ways to say "Rams are playing like dogshit today."

I enjoy attending Rams games in person because I think the team feeds off the crowd's positive energy. The GDT thread? Not so much.

Yeah there are plenty of funny one-liners. But when the Debbie Downers start feeding off each other.... eccch.

We were in the middle of a 37-7 ass-whipping yet some ppl were on suicide watch....
And I'm sorry I went back through and saw a couple posts criticizing play but negative? If that's negative then yes we'll never agree. Saying our QB is inaccurate at times isn't negative it's a reflection of what's being done on the field. Skow makes a big mistake on special teams an interferes with a fair catch is something even he would tell you he fucked up on. A couple posts were overly dramatic, yeah nobody else around here does that ever in this or other threads right, but overly negative they weren't. I've said it countless times now but you'll see what you want to see. You look at this thread and you clearly want to see negative so you can get on peoples cases. If page 12 was some toxic font of negativity then there's nothing else really that needs to be said as we'll never agree. Coming in and attacking the people in the thread though because they don't phrase things the way you want? That's negativity.

Edit its also nice to go in and read stuff being said when the game was what 10-7 maybe 13-7 and criticizing people because the end score was vastly different. There were things the team wasn't doing well early in the game as we all saw if we watched it.

Could Cam Akers be this year’s CJ Anderson?

one word...

merriwether....

great LB for the chargers before his achilles tear... no where near as good a year later, lost his explosion AND speed, and retired soon thereafter....

hopeful for cam... but not this year...

go rams

slo

p.s. if you're reading this cam, i hope i'm eating a huge plate of crow come the playoffs..

Different position, different era, different injury, different team and different circumstances with him ignoring medical advice

IOW, a pointless comparison, especially when you throw in his love for PEDs.
