Kyle Shanahan and Sean McVay

What I found Ironic was seeing Shanny pucker up and punt instead of going for the jugular and ending the game on 4th and short.

Mcvay did this same scared routine in week 18.

Overall I like Mcvay better because I enjoy a great passing team. Both approaches have strengths and weaknesses.

If we are being honest though, If Shanny had a top QB they would be near unstoppable. The system Mcvay uses which uses WRs to block bigger defenders is flawed in my opinion. Though more WR's and generally more speed on the feild does open up the pass game in Mcvays system a little more.

The Lucky 09

So, I'm not really a jersey guy. Very few players over the years have inspired me enough to buy, much less wear another man's name on my shirt. I have a Nolan Ryan and a signed Jack Youngblood, the only 2 cats you could say were 'heroes' of mine from my youth. Then this last September, my wife starts putting pressure on me to come up with things I want for Christmas, as my mother-in-law (a real sweetheart) was determined to spoil me. After I delivered one of my famous, long blank looks, she asked brightly if I wanted a Rams jersey. (It was her mother, you see, that got me the Younglood jersey years ago. Of course, it being signed, I never wore it.) I rolled with this, as it seemed a promising way to shorten the conversation. Again, not being interested in wearing someone else's number, I suggested a personalized one. She asked what number, I told her '9'. Fast forward to Christmas Day, and with much fanfare, I open my package...and the beautiful, bone-colored Rams jersey, with my name proudly on the back...and the number '09'. Without skipping a beat, I donned the funny-lookin thing and rode out the rest of Christmas day. On the ride home, still wearing the jersey, mind you, I slipped up and revealed to my wife her inadvertent gaffe. I should have kept my fukin mouth shut, but I couldn't, because I'm stupid. So now she's all upset, kicking herself all the way home. And as the days go by, she won't let it go, and now I'm startin to feel bad. So I wear it for the Cardinals playoff game...well, you can probably guess the rest. The 09 jersey is now 3-0. The Lucky 09. And ya, I'll be wearing that goofy fuckin thing to work tomorrow, to show it off to all the Whiner fans. And I'll put it on again in two weeks, when we beat the brakes off the Bangles.

PREGAME 49’ers at Rams - NFC Championship

Try fucking harder.

You expect that of your team. You can't even unconditionally support them like they do you?

Don't be that guy.

GO RAMS!!!

Lol - anyway I’m out in Niners country but live in So Cal. Funny been starting Sunday Collections from them, just hope they don’t get any payouts with a 3 1/2 point spread.

Looking for The Rams to take it to them.We saw a preview of what that should look like as long as the pedal stays down away from the medal.

Stafford seems to keep building more confidence & showing too leadership.
Von Miller is going to get after it without possibly of Trent Williams.

Go Rams

Stressed Out

This game could exorcise a lot of organizational demons. Things that date back decades...

October 25, 1981, the 49ers win at Candlestick 20-17 on a Ray Wersching FG at the end of the game. They go on to a SB win and the beginning of a dynasty that is only matched by the B&B Patriots of '01-'19. Though the Rams would be competitive again later in the decade, the NFC CG loss on January 14, 1990 would send the franchise into a decade-long tailspin, highlighted by the likes of TJ Rubley and the "Same Old Sorry Ass Rams."

After the GSOT flamed out under Martz there would be yet another decade of utter futility.

Beating them would go a long way to finally burying all that shit.

LETS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The irony of it all

Am I the only one who sees the irony in the fact that if we had beaten the Niners in Week 18, we most likely would have been playing in Green Bay tomorrow? If we had won that game, I believe the seedings would have been as follows: 1) GB, 2) Rams, 3) TB, 4) Dallas, 5) Arizona, 6) Philly, 7) NO. That means round 1 would have put the Saints at the Rams, Cards at Cowboys, and Philly at TB. Let's say the higher ranking seeds win that round. Round 2 would be Dallas at GB and TB at the Rams. I have about 0% faith that Dallas would have beaten the Packers in Green Bay. I remember telling my son (also a Rams fan) that maybe it was McVay's genius to lose that game to SF in Week 18 knowing that the Niners plan of attack against GB was probably better than that of the Rams vs GB. The Packers seem to have our number, much like we have Tampa Tom's, and SF has had ours of late (until tomorrow). I think everything worked out according to plan and our guys are going to be more determined than ever.

Last night I caught the replay of the Week 18 game vs SF. The Rams totally dominated the Niners in all three phases of the game in the first half. I almost got sick to my stomach watching McVay throw deep on the third and one right before the half knowing what was to follow. But look at how this team has responded since then - total domination of Arizona and the same could be said for TB if not for those four uncharacteristic fumbles. Stafford has learned that if he takes care of the ball, the Rams win. The defense needs to finish off each play though. I've seen games earlier this season where you'll have defenders standing around while a ball carrier is fighting for extra yards. The Rams need to finish each play, everyone to the ball like Lovie Smith used to preach. Be physical, knock SF on their asses every change they get. I really do think the defense was embarrassed the last time and will play with more determination than ever tomorrow.
McVay threw deep?

I think McVay called a play with multiple patterns, and the QB threw deep.

Now, he could have not went empty backfield, I agree there, but there were options on that play just like there were options on Kupp's big pass play on Sunday.
