WFT Rebrand Announced - Washington Commodes

Its coming, to a point. Up here in Humboldt,Trinity, Mendocino we have a lot of log truck drivers. No computer driven big rig is driving down a 40 mile long one lane dirt road and backing down into a canyon with a foot deep lose dirt, get a load of logs that require a D8 CAT to pull them out and get them going.
Those are MEN ! Dangerous job, my nephew rolled 200' down a mountain, compound leg fracture . Had to get a ride on a helicopter with compound leg fracture.
Only thing that saved them from a 150' straight drop was a single old tree snag.
Turns are tight and if your trailer starts to go, you go. You have to CB radio up ahead to make sure no heads on,s in the corner.
Not sure where you stand on this but we all need wood. From your toilet paper, home, newspaper and mail and more.
I maintain all the sawmill equipment that brings civilization this and no machine is doing my job, ever.
I am the machine.
I like Musk and hate him at the same time.
Go Rams. I think its going to be a beat down.

Machines won't do every job, but they will do MOST. And many jobs are jobs people don't think of... many medical specialties... Ask any med school how many people are going into Radiology... it's either being shipped overseas to India where Radiologists do the job much cheaper while AI is developing algorithms to detect cancers and other disease WAY before the human eye could possibly detect it. And robot surgery is coming and will be significantly better in nearly all cases than humans. As it is, many delicate surgeries are already accomplished using a human guided robot

Law? so much basic lawyer and paralegal stuff can be automated.

Low and mid-level management jobs... HR functions... etc.

As for paper products, I'd rather use sustainable things like wood products than plastic for most things if given the chance. If anything, it encourages the further planting of trees and will hopefully open up hemp for not only CBD, but hemp is a wonderful fiber source for everything from clothing to paper products. I know in BJJ, the best GIs are made from hemp fiber. I was even going to get one as I sweat a TON, but I had to stop going.

Anyway, point being is that way more will be automated than most have even contemplated (even places like McDonalds use less than half the staff that they used 30 years ago and with the automated order pads, that number decreases by the day).

The question is will we live the life of Star Trek where people are educated and encouraged to follow their passions or will we live in a dystopia where there are trillionaires and underground subsistence economies? I dunno the answer, tho I have my inclinations.

TL;dr Not all jobs will be automated, but MOST can be automated and will given enough time. The bigger question is (and this is a MUCH harder question for countries like the US and Japan where you are seen as your job/profession/career) will we be able to refocus society on being less work centric? I dunno. There will always be things people CAN do, but even now, we're conflating CAN and NEED. We already have an excess of both local and global labor. That problem is gonna get sorted whether we do anything or not, but seeing as none of us are kids of Gates or Musk, it's not terribly likely to be anything close to Star Trek.

Now... does anyone remember that football video game that used different robots depending on the position?

It was kinda cool, but I prefer human sports. Hopefully, we can keep that for longer than we keep human truck drivers...

Something about Burrow

Reminds me of Joe Namath. He just doesn’t care how big the stage is. Rams need to keep this kid off balance. He can win this game with his throwing talent. I think he is the best pure passer in the league right now. Stafford has a few more weapons and negotiates the blitz better. Go Rams…do not let this kid find confidence early on.
We know it’s you, Kay Adams.

How the hell can a player win league MVP and couldnt even win a playoff game?

Rodgers is a great QB and he's capable of winning it all. Shit we were a few plays away from maybe losing the OT toss and the game to Tampa. I don't care for the guy but not gonna overlook his greatness.

Next season I think Stafford in year two will be a real contender for that award. Glad he didn't get it this year, I wanted him in the Super Bowl with a chip on his shoulder so things have worked in our favor IMO.

Some thoughts before SB LVI (Bengals vs Rams)

What and how much had this guy been drinking ?

Per IG Drake just dropped 1.25 mil on Rams to win. Keep in mind everything he bets on loses, so hope the curse doesn’t affect the Rams.

Best Race Horse I Ever Saw

I dunno. It wouldn't surprise me if it closed. Horse racing took a big nose dive several years back in terms of popularity and spectators.

Edit:. Nope. I just checked. It's still going.
Cool

I did like going to that track from time to time

My favorite track - Del Mar

Went a few years ago and I felt under-dressed lol

I was in shorts and t-shirt and I saw all these people wearing all kinds of evening wear

I said - I don't care - I am going to be comfortable

I have to say though - there were all kinds of good looking ladies at the track and this was on a Wednesday

NFC title snap Counts (Rise of Safeties SCOTT & WEDDLE)

Rams plan for Eric Weddle to play every snap, be the signal caller in Super Bowl LVI

Eric Weddle was playing five-on-five basketball in retirement about month ago, enjoying life away from football. Now he’s set to play every snap in his first-ever Super Bowl.

The Rams brought Weddle out of retirement before their playoff run, easing him back into things. He played 19 snaps in the wild-card game, 61 in the divisional round and all 51 snaps in the conference championship. In Super Bowl LVI, he’s expected to be on the field for every play again, and he’ll also be the Rams’ defensive signal caller.

Raheem Morris shared that news on Thursday, saying Weddle will take over that responsibility from Troy Reeder, who’s been handling it in Jordan Fuller’s absence. For a player who’s been on the team for a month, it’s incredible that he knows the playbook and calls so well already.

The signal caller typically plays every snap, which Reeder hasn’t been doing in recent weeks. And given his struggles at linebacker, the Rams would probably prefer to rotate him more than they have, now that Ernest Jones is back from his ankle injury, too.

Weddle is more than capable of handling this responsibility, and after leading the team in tackles two weeks ago, he’s become an impactful player, too.
This is great news, though it's a bit surprising that Raheem spilled the beans in advance. Maybe he wanted to give Zac Taylor a bit too much to think about.

Weddle is a brilliant safety who has seen it all and fully commands the respect of the D. Weddle has to be our best defensive signal caller. Fully capable of calling out the right adjustments to whatever came in from the sideline. This should help avoid confusion in the secondary which is maybe the single quickest path to defeat (as shown by the Rams trying to stop the last SF td drive in regulation Week 18, and Tampa Bay trying to cover Kupp in the NFC championship game.)

Of course this also frees the Rams to use Reeder more sparingly, probably only on run downs, and Jones and Howard against the pass.

Imo the matchup of Jones and Howard against the Bengals talented talented receivers in short routes over the middle and in the flat will be critical. If the Rams take away those outlets the Bengals are toast.

Good thing the Rams stayed the course with DL A'Shawn Robinson

I still think that :injury::eyeroll::yawn:Terrell Lewis will move from the OLB'er post into a DL pass-rushing position if he is going to make it in the NFL.:hope:

As you know, while in the past I have advocated for just that, although going in to 2022, I don't think we'll have the depth at OLB to accomplish it. Losing Okoronkwo to free agency pretty much just leaves Hollins, Lewis & Garrett in rotation. Hollins may yet get some interior work & Garrett is still a work in progress, but I don't imagine a drafted OLB is really high up our wish list with so many other needs, not unless someone unexpected lands in our lap.
jmo.

Eric Dickerson - Watch My Smoke

The first Rams game I saw in person was week 2, 1985, in Philly. Dickerson just agreed to terms, but sat out the game. I was really disappointed. Next week he went for 150 in Seattle on Monday Night.

Never really looked at him the same after that. Sure he had a great playoff game in 85' against Dallas, but it was clear he was a "me first" guy. And when Everett showed up he couldn't handle sharing the spotlight.

Has anyone, outside of the organization, benefit from the move back to LA more than ED?

I don't think so.

He was invisible for yrs, but once his old team moved back to town (the one he held hostage 30 yrs earlier), now he is "The Rambassador" or whatever he calls himself.... And shows up on talk shows etc...talking about his "beloved Rams". Kind of funny.
