He needs to be ranked in the top 20 considering the historic season he had. 14 tds 0 int 123 passer rating in the 4th quarter and won the super bowl despite his entire wr core being decimated by injuries in the super bowl. No Woods, OBJ, Higbee, Kendall Blanton, and Akers who just came off of a torn achilles. His defense was ranked 15th and rushing attack was ranked 24th and he won with that. I guess having a better completion percentage than Allen, Mahomes, and Herbert, being 5th in qbr, 3rd in yards, 2nd in td passes and td percentage, 6th in passer rating(102.9), throwing for 6000 yards in a season, 50 tds, having 3 straight game winning drives in 1 postseason run isn't good enough to be considered a top 5 qb anymore now these days.
The above was a comment on youtube of his top 100 video. Kinda says it all.
Edge, Dl, OL.....a lot of different directions they could go with an actual high pick.
For possible impact sooner instead of later, I agree, Edge makes the most sense.
Who graded out better at QB - John Wolford or Bryce Perkins?
www.turfshowtimes.com
The Los Angeles Rams surrendered their lead to the Houston Texans in the final minutes of their second preseason contest. Quarterback Bryce Perkins had the offense on the move, but ultimately LA’s comeback attempt fell just short.
Hopkins hauled in all 6 of his targets for 41 yards as he unseated Kendall Blanton as the TE2. The question for Hopkins now is whether he can carve out a regular role with Matthew Stafford and the first-string offense.
With rookie Logan Bruss going down for the year, Anchrum is the next man up as the primary reserve interior offensive lineman - and he’s proved capable in two preseason appearances.
4 - Austin Trammell, WR - 66.8
Trammell has been good in limited action, but he has almost a 0% chance to make the team in a deep WR room. He’s auditioning for either a role on another team or for a spot on LA’s practice squad, but it’s clear the receiver has promise.
5 - Roger Carter, TE - 66.1
Can Roger Carter make the initial 53-man roster as TE3, or is he a top practice squad candidate? We haven’t seen the production that suggests he’s worth keeping over an extra receiver or defensive back.
Other notes:
Neither John Wolford (54.7) nor Bryce Perkins (62.9) graded out too well. Wolford was dealt a 33% pressure rate on his drop backs, and it’s unfair to judge a quarterback in those conditions. Overall, it doesn’t seem either signal caller created much separation in the battle for the backup spot to Matthew Stafford.
Reserve linemen AJ Arcuri (64.7) and AJ Jackson (63.7) also seemed to perform well. Veteran Bobby Evans was the lowest-graded player on the entire offense Friday night at 36.6. It’s possible, if not likely, that we see a changing of the guard - meaning LA could keep Arcuri over Evans. Jackson has probably already made the team as the primary swing tackle.
Top 5 defensive grades:
1 - Decobie Durant, CB - 90.4
It was an impressive performance by the rookie fourth rounder.
Durant was credited with a sack on a blitz and a forced fumble. He also broke up a pass on 1 of his 2 targets.
Burgess had a bounce back performance after allowing a 40+ yard touchdown grab last week versus the LA Chargers. Has he done enough to win over the coaching staff and figure into their future plans at safety?
There wasn’t much separation in terms of pass rush in this game compared to last week, aside from Jonah Williams. Keir Thomas fell back down to earth (70.0 to 63). Daniel Hardy suffered an ankle injury and will miss time, but he was neck and neck with Thomas. Defensive tackle Michael Hoecht impressed versus the Chargers (75.5 pass rushing grade) but struggled against Houston (48.3), though with his special teams prowess he’s probably making the regular season roster
More like crazy craz. Suffering injury’s? That is when players get hurt thinking about it. So you need to get down from there.
I case you have short term memory loss? The Rams are still The SuperBowl Champs.
Whose House did they win it ALL at? Where is the Thursday Night opener being played?
Here are some of my random opinion nuggets in rewatching the Texan game.
In the Texan game, the best DL'er on the field for the 4 quarters was by far Jonah Williams who usually lined up in the middle close to the center. When only 2 DL'ers were on the field he lined up @ RDT. IMO this was his best game as a pro. Williams has put on muscle & weight. He is much thicker & stronger. In the past, we have seen him playing DE or at times the ER posts.
Jonah Williams hasn’t yet secured a spot on the Rams’ 53-man roster, but he’s making a strong case for one. The third-year defensive lineman stood out in Week 2 of the preseason against the Texans, recording four tackles, one sack, a tackle for a loss and a forced fumble…

.......recording four tackles, one sack, a tackle for a loss and a forced fumble in 40 snaps played.
But he's improved for sure from last preseason. Last year this time guys were throwing him around a bit. It's like he's got bird bones or something. This year that's not as much a factor, he's making strides question is whether it's going to be enough. This is a very competitive roster.
I think we'll be in Nickel most of the time so both Rochelle and Hill are starters in that sense. Ramsey will also play inside some with Hill and Rochelle on the outside depending on matchup. I can see 7 DB's on the field in some situations with Ramsey, Hill, Rochelle, Long, Rapp, Scott, and Fuller.
I think with the upgraded Middle LB situation, I don't think we will ever see 7 DBs and 6 DBs will be much less than last year. It is a matter of putting the most talent on the field. In the box, I think our best players are our middle LBs even in passing situations. They match up with most TEs and make the surprise run less likely.
Looking at this now with some hindsight it's pretty clear he was saying Shelton was ahead. Given how Bruss looked out there I can't imagine it's much of a competition even now. Rams are just calling it that publicly.
The scary thought is what if it is a competition right now. But I don't think that is the case and either way the thought is too terrifying to seriously consider for now.
Big opportunity for Anchrum now that Bruss is out for the season, I'd still prefer him over Shelton if the race is close, ... should Allen or Shelton get themselves injured we're in real bad shape. Perhaps Snead will dig deep and find a quality OG trade like he did when we landed Cleveland's Corbett.
McCutcheon is looking really nice for a UDFA - good use of body, strong hands and can track the ball. If this was 2011 we would be predicting that he would start
There are 10+ NFL teams who are lining up to snag McCutcheon should he be cut. I think he’s earned a roster spot but Rams need to trade him if they are not going to keep him on the 53.
Wow - it was fun seeing Eric Henderson calling plays. He is going to be a HC soon enough. I know if Raheem Morris becomes a HC he knows who he wants as his DC.
Chris Shula did all right ? Cohen seemed to have a hard time. The Rams we’re over matched at times.
It’s a new Era without any of the Phillips. Glad Wes got a ring, but also glad he is gone.
I like & think The Rams running game is going to be the best they have had in awhile.
For all the Haters ,HENDO will have a good season,Cam Akers should be a lot better than in 2021. Plus Williams is going to be electric. He is quick & there you go.
Whose House - & 3 can take it all the way to The Rams House!
Personally, I hope he remains injured, so we can stash him - because he wouldn’t clear waivers and hasn’t practiced so wouldn’t likely suit up on game day
The only thing this video made me realize is that McVay, for the first time, is older than all of the players he is coaching now that Big Whit retired. Also, Aaron Donald is now the third oldest player on the team behind Stafford and Wagner. How time flies when you're having fun.
I dunno. I'm not sure beating us means more than beating a division rival. Buffalo wants to beat us. But do that want it as bad as they want to beat Belicheck and the Patriots? I don't think so. Same as the AFC west teams who hate each other. Sure, we'll see teams play the Rams with more intensity. But its more due to knowing how good they are than being defending champs.
I'm not kidding when I say I only had 4 store-bought toys in my life. The last one I got was when I was 10 and it was one I worked for. It was a gas engined plane that was controlled by a lanyard. No RC back then. I never flew it for fear of breaking the only toy I had. Yes I played with it but as simply a static toy. My siblings and I made our own toys when we grew up. We never felt deprived in any way. The house was always filled with loving parents and family. We had dogs and cats, and I had a pet rat.
It's why I eventually owned a hobby shop. I sat in my store building plastic models for display, talking to the neighborhood kids who would drop by and BS about stuff. Best job I ever had. Didn't make a lot of money but I never felt it was work.
Yup that yellow plastic plane was my pride and joy, that and my stuffed bear I had since I was 3 yrs old.
I was given a Japanese Zero plane of the same type by a neighbor down the street. They used to build their planes from scratch and probably had twenty of them hanging in the garage. They would go compete with them on weekends, but the engines/props sort of scared me and that probably kept me out of it. That, and we didn't have money for things like that.
