Anchrum Press Conference

Tremayne Anchrum has experience in Training Camp & Preseason @ all four OL positions (LT/ RT/ LG/ RG) after being drafted very very late in the 7th rd in 2020. So many different posts & 2 different OL coaches but never being involved with the offense in the regular season until late last week.

TA sure sound & speaks very well makes me feel much better after a so-so preseason. We have been discussing & desiring large stronger OL'ers in this Ram Ol. We sure are not getting taller but being 315 lbs compact OL'er whose height is under 6-2 is going to be interesting. TA was a very solid OT for many seasons in several championship teams in college.
TA is used to playing on the right side so he does have that going for him.

I have no idea how @bubbaramfan :explode1:knew that center Brain Allen was going to get injured thus letting his prediction come true to where TA is now our starting RG. TA is the best decision to replace Shelton. Let us hope that we can get this running game going like TA helped Clemson. Its my hope that the Rams will have discovered an excellent starting RG for the next few seasons & end some of our concerns.

Of course I'm hoping that Anchrum makes us all proud by taking over and owning that RG position from here on out, ... anything that keeps Evans on the sidelines has to improve our chances imo, although recently acquiring Oday Aboushi has me wondering whether HE might actually be our currently best RG and ahead of Evans & Brewer on the depth chart once he learns the Rams system, and that really shouldn't take very long. Last season, before being injured, Aboushi started at RG for the Chargers, and they went 4-1 during that span, previous to that he played with Detroit for 2 seasons, so I'd suspect that Stafford was consulted as to his abilities. jmo.

Chris Garrett?

Garrett showed quickness off the ball at a small school college. That wasn't enough to stay on the Rams. IIRC he had a nice wingspan but at 6'4"/245 Lbs he may not have been able to gain the strength and weight that he needed to. We all wanted to see him become a good pass rusher for the Rams. He is still young and has a chance now with the Vikings.

Funny how relationships work. Kevin O’Connell saw a little something something out of him. Just glad he has that chance. I wish him the best.
He made a choice to not get Vaxed. To all the people that didn’t I appreciate if they were doing it for the right reasons. That is part of FREEDOM. I thought it was a wrong decision for him because he was coming off such a GREAT preseason.
He got Covid when it was at it’s worst & really messed him up.As we saw Thursday as Rams fans Von Miller was great(is).

ALL 22 Offense - first half against Buffalo edit - third quarter included

I finally watched the game, didn’t get to see much Thursday.

I thought it was kind of sloppy but not terrible and the second half was flipped with 3 or 4 plays that made the difference. 2 long passes that just can’t happen.

The oline looked questionable but then we knew that and I blame the coaches for not playing them in the preseason. They absolutely have not played together enough and Stafford got beat up because of it.

Stafford needs to use AR, Kupp is great but he cannot be the target 70% of the time.

All said I think they can clean some of it up and this will be a distant memory soon enough.

Studs & Duds ...

Hendersons lack of lateral ability and general elusiveness is a problem especially when he is being used as an every down back.

I realize Cam is Screwing up in pass pro but we need his elusiveness on the dump offs etc.

We also need a true power back in place of Henderson. Same lesson we learned last year during our losing streak when we traded for Sony.

Bills post game pressers

Does anyone think McVay will let the Rams fall from grace without a fight. Action against:
- weak IOL play crippling the run game and providing poor pass protection
- half-assed play by starters. Come on Higbee, Ramsey, Floyd, Long, Akers
- poor special teams play. I didn’t see anyone block well on kick returns.
- Rostered players who aren’t NFL caliber. Tutu? Evans?
- poor offensive play calling. Stafford to Kupp is quickly becoming one dimensional.
- poor defensive schemes. Soft coverage on the 3 second 5-7 yard passes.
Have faith Rams brethren. That playoff run last year was epic. In McVay I trust. Go Rams.

Agreed. It was one game. Buffalo blew a chance to move on in the playoffs because they could not stop KC with just seconds left.

They had a chip on their shoulder and played like it. They made their case for being an SB contender.

We have a new OL, and few starters played in the pre-season. And Buffalo is no patsy.

McVay will right the ship starting next week.
