Redbird Steakhouse Open for Dinner... CELEBRATION Thread

Let me add my 2 cents in here. I understood why they did it, but the defense was on the field for a loooooong time. The offense sits for such a long time it starts to feel a little out of sync when you get back on the field. We won and that’s the most important thing…but couldn’t we give them a 7 yard cushion on 3rd and 10 instead of 12? Just sayin.
No doubt. And McVay isn't gonna say they played bad after a win. But you can bet he killed them on film review because there were plenty of poor or blown coverages.

We surrendered deep sidelines, which you can't have in that call and situation. Also there were deep shots the Cards couldn't capitalize on. Rams definitely can improve back there and I expect them to as they transition past Long and Rochell and get both these rooks involved in key roles.

A few thoughts after the Cards game…

Yeah which is usually the case on the right, and why it is synonymous with strong side. That right side maybe was the matchup rat boy wanted.

I was trying to remember the last game where Whit struggled with Bosa. Might have been the previous year idk. Or maybe earlier in the season, as we got trucked pretty good in game one. They sort of went back and forth with both winning, but the list of guys who gave Whit problems is small and Bosa is on it. Whit's only real weakness was power, and even that he could often adjust to.

Also I have not looked at their depth chart and all that, so not sure what's been going on with their ends. I fucking hate them so refuse to waste time watching their shitty film. Can barely rewatch our games vs them, because usually we're struggling with their physicality which pisses me off even when we win.

Jalen Ramsey deserves his own thread

Definitely a better game representative of what I expect every week from him.

I don’t by them narrative that everyone gets beat fitting what we had seen at the end of last year and beginning of this year.

If he expects to be in the Revis level talk he doesn’t get beat and he doesn’t act like it was someone else’s fault.

I think the injury MAY have played a part in his less than stellar games and that he is coming out of recovery mode. Let’s see what happens this week and if he dominates I’ll relax.

GAME DAY GDT - Rams at Cardinals

I know how frustrating it is when its 3rd and 4 or 5 and we see a ten yard cushion. It just becomes pitch and catch. But at the end of the game 12 points and no TD's is pretty darn good. The game plan worked. Maybe we need to show some patience and stop bashing Morris so much. He had them playing championship defense in the playoffs.

With that said, the game plan has to be different next week. The whiners and Jimmy Garbage will be content to throw underneath all day if they let them. I know the staple of this defense is bend don't break. But that plays right into the 49ers hands. Remember that 31-10 beat down last year? The first drive they threw short, kept moving the chains and took something like 8 or 10 minutes off the clock.

Edit: I checked that game. 49ers got the ball with 12:57 on the clock in the first quarter. They scored on that drive with 1.54. Eleven minutes on the first drive. Just running and throwing short.

It also killed me when the whiners running back or dweebo gets hit in the backfield and they still wind up with a 7 yard gain. I'm assuming Bobby Wagner won't allow that to happen.

But if we just tighten up that outside coverage on third downs, I can see us shutting down the whiners. It just kills me seeing the pitch and catch for easy first downs. Then those drives turn into 15 play 9 minute drives that result in soul sucking TDs.

Morris tightened it up in the NFCCG but why wait until then? Let's bury the whiners now and get ratboy fired.

GAME DAY SNF - 49’ers at Broncos

And they dropped a shitload of passes.
They don't, maybe the 10 yard off coverage plan doesn't look so good.
But yes, the corners were very raw, have to play it safe. How about next week then?
They did contain Murray very well but that was Edge play mostly.

BC
I'd have at least liked one of the more physically dominate corners in Ramsey to play some bump man against the smaller Brown rather then let him get 15 catches and rarely get covered by our best man.

RB Malcom Brown returns ...

I don't concern myself too much with the thoughts of others where certain players are concerned. I have been around long enough to recognize that Terrell Davis-look to Cam's running style when he is running with confidence; that ability to pick up extra yards after the first solid hit.
He's got that "it" factor, sme guys have it and some dont. When he runs without hesitation, you see it. We saw it yesterday at times for sure

Rams have SO many questions as Cards game approaches…

I liked that Stafford seemed to be pissed at himself on the sideline after those errant throws last week. Shows he KNOWS he needs to be better and I'm confident he will be.

I wouldn't be surprised to see some more wrinkles in the run game this week and moving thru the year. I was asking for 2 RB (FB/RB) sets since last season. Maybe Malcom Brown is going to play that FB spot a bit?

All that talk about Tutu... were the Rams just trying to get someone to bite on him for a 5th rounder maybe? All that talk in pre-season and he has yet to flash anything of substance.

Need to see some better tackling and stop getting gashed for 5+ yard runs all the time. Tighter press coverage instead of 8+ yard cushion. Our DBs are being left out to dry with this soft zone bs. Lets get some QB pressure and show some killer instinct. These 1 possession point differential games are getting too frequent and too risky. How about we win one by 10+ ffs?

LFG!
