A chance Shelton might be back for Sunday

What's amazing is he can watch him play or the tape and STILL puts him out there.
Its bizarre to me.
Just bizarre.....to bring Brewer up and to replace Aboushi who gave up no pressure the previous game and NOT replace Evans just makes zero sense.
The staff has to be aware of this.
The decision making like this one....the play calling....the refusal to keep one RB in to get a rhythm and this list goes on.....it's a strange year.
The thing is, the D scheme is what it is because it was designed to work with an offense that was effective and scoring points. If the O was solid and scoring at last years clip the team is 6-2 more than likely.

Playing 10-12 yards off their receivers...

Bottom line is the defense let them drive down the field with less than a minute and no timeouts and score a TD.
Bottom line is they let up 16 points, which wins you a game 55% of the time in the NFL.
Bottom line the offense scored 13 points which wins you a game 27% in the NFL.

Bottom line, if asking your offense to get ONE FIRST DOWN in the ENTIRE 4TH QUARTER.. and they can't.. your defense ain't the issue.

Stafford

Yes, and we're not even close to the end of the season. The whiners were 3-5 and we had to play them in the NFCCG. The NFC East might have 3 playoff teams but after that, the pickings are thin. The Rams can still make a run if we can start scoring more than 15.2 points per game.

I know we have injuries, but having the same points per game on offense as a Jeff Fisher team isn't going to get us there.
If we can get Evans out of the line-up and replaced with someone who can get a 50 on pass blocking score on PFF, we will score 20 points a game guaranteed. I would bet a lot of money on that.

Around the NFL - Looking Ahead to Week 10

Seattle vs. Tampa Bay (Munich, Germany), 9:30 a.m.

Good matchup in the super early slot. Got to root Tampa in this one.

Minnesota at Buffalo, 1 p.m.

This should be fun.

Dallas at Green Bay, 4:25 p.m.
Arizona at Los Angeles Rams, 4:25 p.m.

Of course, the Rams… but Dallas a chance to bury GB.

Los Angeles Chargers at San Francisco, 8:20 p.m.

Go Chargers!

Akers OUT for personal reasons

I dunno. That injury was one of those where some guys are never the same. Could that be the case with Akers? Or is it mental? The lack of blocking can definitely get into a running back or quarterback's head.

Most times there is no running lane for Akers. But the few times there is, he looks nothing like his rookie year. If it doesn't get better the rest of the way I think they have to consider releasing him after the season.

What happened to the Run game under McVay?

The line can't block and our best RB is average if that. Where McVay and Snead went wrong was thinking this line was good enough. I know the injuries wreaked havoc. But the starting lineup going into the season was not going to be that good anyway.

They have two choices. Blow it all up and start the 3 year rebuild. Or upgrade the OL and RB positions in the spring. A 3 year rebuild would be wasting guys like Stafford and Donald who only have a few years left. And Kupp who will be 30 next season.

They need guys who are not injury prone and have experience. They don't have to have an all star lineup. As bad as the line is now how hard would it be to upgrade.

Then there is one thing that could be something we can't fix. What if McVay is a one trick pony and can't evolve with the ever changing defenses in the NFL? If that is the case then we're in for some disappointing times. Stan Kroenke has a history of being more patient with his coaches than most owners.

Shall I mention the elephant in the room? One of them, anyway?

And that's why we are going to keep bringing up Tutu - to remind Snead and McVay of that mistake lol

We are going to be so annoying they will remember this pick that the next time they think someone small has an athletic ability during the draft - oh yeah - Tutu - what are we even thinking of - Rams on Demand has told us a million times what a stupid pick that was - NEXT!!
You do know that that Atwell was like 150 lbs soaking wet right?

Did Snead not learn from the Tavon Austin disaster?

I love the POTENTIAL of Tutu and Tavon.
But they're NOT football players.
They're more like toys.

Creed Humphreys is a football player and looks like he will be for a long long time.

If we had upgraded our Center last year I don't think we'd be in nearly as bad a position on the oline.

McVay’s Post-Game

Wish someone would ask him why he keeps playing Evans at LG
Me: Why do you keep playing Evans at LG?

Coach: There’s a lot to that, FanSince69, its not just one thing. It’s not just one guy. I have to do a better job of putting the OL in a better position to succeed, the other coaches have to coach better and the players have to execute better within the construct of what we’re trying to do on offense.

Wish granted.

Carolina saved us from ourselves (in the long run)

Then Carolina will pay him and not trade him.

It's easier to find an impact pass rusher in the draft than it is to try and wrestle an already established player out of the hands of the team that is resolved to keep him.

I don't like being desperate at the trade deadline.

I disagree on it being easier to draft an impact Edge, not when you don't have a 1'st round draft pick & are picking late in the 2'nd. Top Edge Rushers go early, guys like Chubb & Burns who were the most sought after players up until the deadline, and even Robert Quinn & Leonard Floyd went in the top half of the first round, ... you get into the later rounds and it's always going to be a crapshoot for a quality Edge OLB. Those hopeful 'sure-things' like QB's, LT's and Edge Rushers are going to be gone where we pick.
If Carolina wasn't in rebuild mode, why did they unload a young McCaffrey ? They need a QB to get things moving again, and that generally requires very high draft picks, they'll also be looking for a new H.C. who has his own ideas about forward progress.
Going after Burns is not about desperation, it's about building a better future while you still have the quality base players that can take you to the next level.
