GAME DAY Week 12 - The Early Games

She may have.

I remember looking at who had been the best predictors last year or the year before and she was up near the top IIRC.

I don't watch the NFL Network much. She doesn't bother me.
Oh I reminded her often during the playoffs last year and after the Super Bowl win via twitter. I remember being so excited about our new QB and the possibilities for the season and then she scrunched her face in a preseason prediction and said they wouldn't even be a Wild Card.

Jalen Ramsey

Is Jack Snyder with any team right now?

No he is not,he is going to play innthe XFL. For that reason a lone I might follow him just enough to see his skill set. The Rams are looking to solidify there Offensive line right now.
My view is they are getting the tires & trying to find a gem. Maybe the find a Jim instead of a Jack. Right now The Rams O’Line looks like Jack Crack.

What happens at CB to finish out the season ? Jalen RAMsey is a good mentor.

2023 and Into the Future...

There was a time when I disagreed with the draft offensive linemen early and often crowd after the 2019 season. They had youngsters with little to no experience pressed into starting duties before they were ready. I felt they got valuable experience and would be better with it.

Fast forward to this year. We now know Evans experience has done him no good. By now its likely he'll never be an NFL caliber lineman. Edwards has been far from impressive. Noteboom is an injury waiting to happen. None of those youngster from that season have panned out. So here we are.

I would say they don't necessarily need to draft linemen early and often. But they really need to draft future linemen. If they have one more run left in them I wouldn't count on rookies to their saviors on the line. They should target starter quality vets in the free agent period. But if they don't want a repeat of this year, they better draft some offensive linemen for down the road.

FEATURE 20 Random Things to be Thankful For (*20RT Bonus Edition*)

This defense needed better play from the corners and safeties which hopefully will come in the future but this d was designed to complement the offense we thought we had which was one that could put up points, possibly a lot. And then there’s the pass rush, I think Von was a done deal and there was no plan b.

And the bolded part is a big part of the problem now. We haven't had that offense since about the 2nd or 3rd week of the season, if we even had it then. But it's still run as if we are putting up 30 points per game.

Granted, I wouldn't like it even if the offense was piling up the yards and points, but I could at least tolerate it. But when the offense is struggling, we need the D to step up and make something happen to change the momentum and the scheme makes that virtually impossible.

GAME DAY Thanksgiving Day - Bills at Lions 12:30pm ET

Not sure why you say that? It was after a long timeout. Game on the line. I didn't see an audible except a direction on pass protection to the rb. It certainly appeared to be the first option on the play as Goff looked there immediately. So not sure how call does not come from the bench. Also appeared to me that the play was intended to be to the WR's right, toward the sideline, but he didn't execute.

In any event it was similar to the long pass play called from the doorstep of their own end zone earlier which resulted in a safety. Another example of Detroit's aggressive but at times knuckleheaded play calling which has cost them wins.
The OC calls the play, but the QB is ultimately the guy responsible for deciding whether to go for it. The WR was open, and Goff decided to go for it. He could have chosen to throw a shorter, safer route. I get the decision there. Go for the win. What doesn't make sense is calling that play and then kicking the FG on the next play if it fails.

Rams Future??

yeah it seems to me that so many of our picks replace pick from 2 or3 years ago and these picks will probably be replaced in 2 or 3 years.
Happy Thanksgiving iamme33,

I would also agree with you on Joseph Noteboom too. JN has been in the NFL for 5 years during this time he has been on the injured reserve FIVE times. As a beleiver & fan of JN's pass protection talent I am sorley disappointed now with him & how his early career has played out. His IR events are more than any other Ram currently under contract, a 3-year, $40 million contract with $16.5 million fully guaranteed.

JN
has yet to play over a half seasons worth of snaps. JN has never finished more than 5 games as a starter. As a Ram top OL'er who has a long injury history in a very short period of time its certainly right to question his position with this team going forward.

When we are having discussions on the "Ram's future" JN's injury history has to be included in the topic for discussion. Ram Org paid JN $25.5 million in 2023. The real returns on that investment certainly have paid no dividends. An "Achilles complete tear" is serious for an LT. It would be just plain silly not to have high concerns over his capability to recover to continue his NFL career.

The UDFA former backup LT A.J. Jackson (also on the IR), outplaying him this season, less than a year after making JN the highest FA priority. When JN was starting his performance was nothing more than 37 yr old well-traveled Ty Nsekhe level. Caused McVay :lying:to have to answer the press questions on AJ Jackson being a much better starting LT prospect than JN.

From Super Bowl champs to Sean McVay's worst season, Rams on the brink

My main goal for the rest of the season is to wish for bad fortune to befall the whiners and that Seattle beats them to knock the whiners out of the playoffs. Not that I like the sea pigeons but my hatred for the whiners exceeds that of the sea hags.

I'm hoping the 49ers receive another bitter defeat to end their season, something that just rips their heart out stomps all over it.

Because fuck those guys.

OK, OK, I'll Release my Current Mock for the 2023 Season ...

It's now been a little over 3 weeks since I've made the above mock, the Rams have managed 3 more losses since, and while my draft & free agency period remains largely unchanged, issues deserve to be freshly dealt with. First, re-signing OBj is no longer a top priority with so many other matters presenting themselves. Instead, I've now seen enough of Wolford & Perkins as 53 roster depth to seek Sam Darnold as a free agent back-up QB while moving Perkins to the Practice Squad with a later round draftee (Phil Jurkovec, B.C.). I've also dropped my free agent RB acquisition (D’Ernest Johnson) since it appears that Akers is now back in our good graces. Henderson, Akers & Williams were one too many for the RB rooms potential starters, so rather than another strong free agent which might upset the balance, I'll just go with my later round draftee (Chris Rodriguez, Ky.) to perform the duties once expected of Malcolm Brown. Free Agency actually gets less expensive for us by switching out OBj & D'Ernest Johnson for Darnold, and we save a roster spot as we'll no longer be carrying 2 back-up QB's on the 53.
Our 2023 depth chart for RB's would now be Kyren Williams, Cam Akers, Chris Rodriguez* & Roger Carter.
Our 2023 depth chart for TE's would be Tyler Higbee, Luke Musgrave*, Brycen Hopkins & Jared Pinkney.

While a few comments have suggested that Leonard Floyd wouldn't likely bring us a 3'rd round draft pick in the event of a trade, it appears that as the Rams continue to lose games this season it boosts our chances of moving up quite a bit in the draft. If we were to draft today, we'd probably be no later than the 8'th pick overall of the 2'nd round, and if we lose to K.C. this coming Sunday, then we may be drafting no later than the 5'th pick in the 2'nd round. After consulting the Trade Value Chart, if Snead chooses, he could trade down to a later pick in the 2'nd round AND pick up an additional 3'rd round draft pick. I raise this option for keeping the added 3'rd round pick I've used in my mock, so even if Floyd couldn't bring a 3'rd in trade, we'd still have that additional 3'rd round pick as well as whatever Floyd might yet bring. jmo.

The most ridiculous stat I've ever seen

The most ridiculous stat?

The global rate for washing hands after using the toilet is under 20 percent.

THATS ridiculous!

FEATURE 20 Random Shooing the Vultures Thoughts

Avenger:

I’ll admit I participated in a “what if “ scenario and mentioned trading #99 to the steelers.

Let me be clear. I would rather have Donald retire a Ram.

…however, all possibilities can be entertained when considering huge moves to set up this franchise for another SB run.

As for hindsight on the current season, I didn’t get all gooey when when the Rams essentially replaced Woods with Robinson. It was constantly repeated on this forum that it would be an upgrade. I doubted it from the onset and still don’t see it.

As for the OL decisions, I fully supported re-signing Noteboom because he had played well at LT when given the opportunities and he was being groomed for the job. He got hurt.
I also understood why the the Rams kept Allen over corbin. The Rams felt they had nobody else who would be an upgrade and Allen did a good job in ‘21. OTH, they had more options at guard.

The Rams lived for the moment, leaving little draft capital and less $$ for any huge moves this year.
…but IT WORKED!

The Rams won the SB with this formula.

It sucks seeing all of the injuries and uninspiring play, but it is tough to be competitive with all of the adversity this season.

What should be pointed out is those players we have ragged on, like Rapp and Evans are in their last year under contract and the consensus on this board is they will not return. That was the prevailing opinion going in, and certainly hasn’t changed.

There is still an opportunity for something positive to come out of this season. Instead of “waiting ‘till next year” on candidates for starting jobs or even roster spots, we can get them real game reps now. Camp performance isn’t always the best indicator of future performance.

In the end, the Rams won the SB on my fucking birthday and they had to go through the 9ers to do it. Am I sorry? Am I disappointed in “the plan”?

FUCK NO!!
