GAME DAY TNF - Jaguars at Jets

After last night's performance Zach Wilson could be done in New York.

Was an easy call. He is A MOMMA & DADDY’s BOY.The Jets OC who liked him got killed on a bike after the draft. Whatever they saw in him was false.
—Tre Lance is another story as well. Jared Goff doesn’t look so bad right now.
—Even a player like Baker Mayfield is no savior.Lawrence showed the difference between have a QB or Not. Switch QB’s & the score is reversed

RAMS CHRISTMAS WISH LIST

Realistically the Rams have too many holes to fix in one year but they have to start with the OL. I believe part of the problem is they did not have durable linemen on the roster (Allen, Note, Anchrum). Havenstein did it. Find others who can withstand the rigors of a NFL season. Not having a run game is mainly due to the weak IOL. Josh Jacobs and Derrick Henry would have had trouble running for the Rams. Make that priority one next year and they are on their way to a greatly improved offense.

THE EARLY GAMES
Atlanta at Baltimore, 1 p.m.
Detroit at Carolina, 1 p.m.
Buffalo at Chicago, 1 p.m.
New Orleans at Cleveland, 1 p.m.
Seattle at Kansas City, 1 p.m.

I wish there were better storylines in this time slot.

But there should be some good games in there.

RIP: Franco Harris

Wow! Some of you guys are really old. And, you actually remember where you were when it happened!

I was in the Bronx, with my family, visiting my paternal grandmother and celebrating an early Christmas.
We would spend Christmas Day (two days later) with my mother's extended family.

It was like two Christmas-days for a boy but the highlight was not the presents ... it was the food. My grandmother spoke little English and cooked only Italian dishes but ... Mother-of-God ... that was some of the best Italian food I have ever eaten. My sisters and I would take the meatballs out of the frying-pan and eat them with our hands ... like Animals! They were perfectly crunchy on the outside but moist and tender inside.

My sisters still discuss them all these years later. They're kind-of-old, like some of you guys.

As for the play, I remember the conversation about whether Raiders' safety Jack (They Call Me Assassin) Tatum contacted Bradshaw's pass attempt to John "Frenchy" Fuqua. Lots of people thought the ball only hit Fuqua, who was drilled by Tatum. knocking the ball into the air for Harris to (maybe) catch it before it hit the ground.

Back then, there was a rule that if two offensive players touched the ball, without a defensive player getting his hands on it in-between, the pass was incomplete. If Tatum did not touch the ball, the question of whether Franco Harris caught the ball would be irrelevant.

20 R-r-random Th-th-thoughts from Green Bay

I watched highlights of the dolphins/bills game last night and it occurred to me that BOTH teams had not one, but TWO RBs better than the Rams. Yes, their blocking was better and that helps, but they were better when they hit the hole, got to the second level and making guys miss.
Sadly, this is not the first time I’ve noticed this. Akers is not the answer. When he does have room, he goes down too easy.
The Rams need a better RB.

Yes, the OL is part of that equation and I will say this about that.
I’m not so sure this OL was gonna be all that good this year anyway. Bruss did not come out of the gate hot. That’s what everyone wanted. Edwards showed a noticeable decline before injury. If both Jackson and Anchrum don’t come back healthy and the Rams don’t bring in a Center (any way they can) to solidify that line…more of the same.

Take a look at the opening day OL. Noteboom, Edwards, and Allen will probably not be opening day starters next season. Just can’t see it.

As for all of the fill ins over this hard luck year, my hats off to the effort. Guys who would otherwise not be on active game day rosters are playing their guts out. They’re just overmatched.

All of the above has crippled the playcalling and scheme. A solid RB who a defense must respect (remember the Gurley years?) is a necessity. And once again, we’re back to pounding the table for a Center.

On the positive side, Skow and Atwell took a big leap forward this year. Jackson, if he is able to come back, has shown he could be our best OL next season.

New Prescription Glasses

I have tried them on... For comfort, they are hard to beat.

They look good too, but glasses are very much an individual thing based on face shape and skin tone.

I wear plastic frames and pretty much have my entire life. I had the transition lens before, but never felt the darkening did much for me.

I highly recommend progressive lens to help with reading, if you need it. That technology is AWESOME and they have perfected it, IMO. That would be my top recommendation for glasses; progressive lens.
Four Eyes!

A few thoughts to share this morning…

He doesn't have the players on the field to run the whole book. And even if he did, these guys can't run it as well...
He hasn't had the players to run that scheme since 2018. That is why it is frustrating to see him still trying. You have to adapt to what you have at your disposal.

The Rams weren't scaring anyone last season either btw. They got hot in the playoffs and a LOT of things fell their way. Amazing couple of months that I will remember forever. That will have to last me for a while me thinks.....and I'm OK with that.

Major road trip this summer.

Glacier Montana is Gods country

Hoh rainforest.

There’s a bunch of beautiful places to visit. A lot has been mentioned.

There’s a great app called Roadtrippers where you can map out your route and you can filter in points of interest within whatever radius you choose. It’ll show you hikes, camping, and attractions. I’ve found some cool things using it. Recently found Bearizona, which is a drive through wild animal park. My car got circled by some curious wolves, and approached buy numerous other animals. It was a fairly quick fun thing to do with the fam. Never would have heard of it if not for that app.
Thanks, I'm using some apps like that. My wife has about three she is engrossed in at the moment. I hate planning too much but you kinda have to on a long trip like this. Bearizona is right on our route too.

GAME DAY MNF - Rams at Packers

Well if you think the street free agents playing along the OL are on the same level of talent as the guys in our DB room, we’ll just have to disagree.
If you go player by player... it's interesting.
First off.. the defensive backs have not been as bad as the offensive line.. we should start with that.

I can only really use a third party to grade this, right? Because they're not apples to apples.
What I do know is that Kendrick grades out significantly lower than both Skura and Aboushi. Nick Scott grades out about the same as Skura and lower than Oboushi.
Durant has graded out about the same as Oboushi.

The secondary has looked even worse in the last few weeks because of the decline of the line. Fortunately, the line came up with some big plays last night.. and the secondary produced two turnovers.. which were turned into three points.

I'm not excited, at this point, about any of the returning defensive backs next year, other than Ramsey. There's a whole lot of nothing there right now. We'll see if year two for Durant shows a real leap.. and if Rochell can find his way on the field.
Yeast looks like he will earn snaps.. though I don't know how good he can be.

Other than Ramsey.. which one of those guys is starting on any of the defensive backfields in the NFC West?
