Rams will have tough time choosing which 2023 free agents to retain

Matt Gay is the tough decision one. He’s fantastic and you don’t want to lose such a great kicker. But how do you justify spending that much of our cap when we have so little. I fear that this will be one we gotta let go - even though we don’t want to at all. Man Snead is gonna have to earn his salary this off-season with so many big roster decisions ahead.

We need Matt Gay. After they let Zuerlein walk, extra points became shaky.

And we need Gaines or Robinson. We can't afford to lose both.

Powell has proven to be a sure handed and at times explosive punt returner.

CARDINALS 2022/23 Arizona Cardinals Thread

No current coach will want Murray as their QB. The Cards will have to grab a college coach desperate to break into the NFL. Everyone else knows Kyler is a coach killer, because he's lazy, immature, and sucks as a team leader. AZ created this monster and now they are living with the consequences.

As I predicted the Cards will be irrelevant for at least 3 more years.
They could have kept the controversy under wraps and traded him after that 10 win season a few years ago. I think the Colts were looking for a QB then. :laugh1:

Rams stuff

I remember that 59-0 Atlanta game. I was thinking what a trash team the Falcons were... but I remember that Dempsey kept missing PATs and I was like what the hell's wrong with that dude. In the NFCCG I found out... the bum.

On the new helmet concepts above I never liked all the cracks. Players are still going to the tent... bring back the smooth ones already.

Matt Skura, Oday Aboushi and Ty Nsekhe stepped up when called into action

The Rams are stuck with a negative Joe Noteboom salary issue for the season of 2023. The remedy for this issue will have to wait until the 2024 Draft when it might be possible for Snead to utilize him with trade fodder for any ultra-hard-up LT team.

Most will believe that I am throwing :crap:unfairly on Noteboom but he has 5 sacks in only 325 snaps. Compare that with Ty Ksekhe with 423 snaps with only 3 sacks. All of Noteboom snaps took place for a long time starting OG Edwards. Ty who was on the streets started next to Evans/Skura.

I believe the Rams Org will offer 25 yr old RFA OG Chandler Brewer a contract when the new year begins. Why?

#1- A homegrown & groomed UDFA.
#2- A young very large size OG being just under 6-6 @ over 320lbs.

#3- Has lined up in pre-seasons & Regular seasons @ FOUR of the 5 OL positions.
#4- Brewer is a young 25 yrs old who has been working with the McVay offense since 2019.
#5- Has shown great determination & perseverance while continuing to play football while undergoing life-threatening cancer treatment (Chemo) senior yr in college.
#6- Has lurked in limbo for many years on the Practice Squad after starting 52 gms (@ OG & OT) for Middle Tennessee State.
#7- Once finally returned back to NFL playing condition in 2022 after taking a season off due to covid & started the second half of the season @ OG. During those 4 gms, Brewer allowed ZERO sacks & played & finished 1 gm with a Grade Three MCL.:wow2:
#8- Once Brewer returned from that knee injury he started in Weeks #17 and #18 & helped running back Cam Akers close out the season with three-straight games of 100 or more rushing yards.
#9- Brewer will be a Restricted FA in March & Snead has already shown he is willing to offer RFA's OL'ers more than 1 yr contracts .....example, Coleman Shelton.

Ref. UFA OG Aboushi, would be a good cheap veteran OG to have around but the Rams might have enough OG's under contract before the draft:

Alaric Jackson (coming off IR)
Chandler Brewer (coming off IR) RFA
Logan Bruss (Coming off IR)
Tremayne Anchrum (coming off IR)
Coleman Shelton
Zac Thomas
I'm a big Brewer fan now.

I figured there was a reason they were keeping him around, I just had to see it to believe it totally.

I Almost Got Scammed Today

A co-workers elderly mother almost got scammed out of $2K. She got a call that her grandson was in jail and needed to be bailed out. He's the co-worker's son. She's in her 80's and very gullible. She likely gave them her grandson's name by mistake and they used that to convince her it was legit.

She was literally in the Walmart parking lot with the $2K to meet the guy. But when she called my co-worker to say she was bailing her son out, the she called her son and he was at work. She told her mom to get in the car and get out of there. Her mom said there was a guy walking through the parking lot looking for someone that was probably him.

I told her someone better be monitoring her calls because they know they were close. She'll be on their list and they will try again at some point.

Rams Super Bowl Trivia

Can you answer these without using Google?
  1. Every Rams Super Bowl team has had a player with this last name. Can you identify the name and the 5 players?
  2. In last year’s Super Bowl, Odell Beckham, Jr., did something that only one other Ram, Cullen Bryant, has done. What did he do?
  3. Which Ram had the longest kickoff return (38 yards) in a Super Bowl?
  4. Which current Rams players could become the first to play in 3 Super Bowls for the team?
  5. Name 3 movies in which the Rams winning the Super Bowl is depicted or referenced.
2. completed a pass

Edit: OBJ pass incomplete to Akers, I think

It's gameday bay-bay!!!!!

Video: Jalen Ramsey Thumps Tyreek Hill During Flag Football Game

You can take the tackle out of football, but you — actually, maybe you can't take tackle out of football.

At least not for Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey, you can't.

During the 2023 Pro Bowl flag football game, Las Vegas Raiders wideout Davante Adams passed the ball laterally to Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill for the score while Ramsey laid Hill out flat.

It was just as if Ramsey was trying to defend his endzone in any regular NFL game.

The AFC won three of the four events on Thursday, so it entered Sunday with a 9-3 lead, as skills competitions are worth three points each.

The AFC and NFC teams will play three different 20-minutes flag football games that count toward its total score.

"I think guys are gonna get after it," Denver Broncos cornerback Pat Surtain II said. "I think it's gonna be a level up competition-wise. It's the best of the best."

Shrine Bowl 2023

I really believe the NFL has to do something to ensure teams carry 3 QB's. Again injuries happen, but now with concussion protocol the NFL should make a rule where you can carry 54 players, but that must include 3 QB's.

Again, not sure if that can be a rule, but it's not good for the league when you have a non QB taking snaps or in the 49ers case in the Championship Game having a player taking snaps that has not business being out there because his shoulder is done.
Yeah the 3 qb seems like a good idea, better than this 2 qb on roster and 1 on practice squad bs.

Av’s 2023 Rams Draft Board (Version 1.0)

Not sure Schmitz makes it to the Rams in the 2nd, but it could be close. I’d say he might be the best pick for the Rams if shoring up the OL is their priority.

Another plug and play OL, Torrence might even be a better option. I know the Rams have several guys who can play Guard, but aren’t they mostly depth and development guys at this stage? If the Rams can land a true NFL caliber starter on that OL, suddenly it looks good AND deep.

Musgrave is very intriguing because I think his receiving game is something that would piqué McVay’s interest. My only concern is with so many starting jobs up for grabs, there’s really no reason to spend that first pick on someone who would NOT start, IMO. Running more 2 TE sets combined with the idea that Musgrave would overtake Higbee at some point during the season might justify the pick, though.

Several good Edge guys on your list who would be given a chance to start.

Again, no way the Rams should spend that high of a pick on anybody they DID NOT see as an instant starter. That, IMO, would be a mistake.
