Garappolo signs with Raiders

That one call. Patriots don’t even play the Rams in the 2001 Superbowl if they call it a fumble.

Jimmy Garoppolo Weighs In On Tom Brady 'Tuck Rule' Play

Jimmy Garoppolo arrived in Las Vegas and immediately rekindled a 20-year debate in the NFL.

On a tour of the Raiders' facility, Garoppolo saw a painting of Tom Brady from the infamous "Tuck Rule Game" in 2002 and said "it was a fumble."

Past 5 Years, In Perspective

I don’t know how comp picks will go down.I do like The Young Ram Players.2021 draft.
Sprinkle those picks around & it’s amazing the growth of certain players.

—Without A TOP draft pick, the higher picks you have to do better than average.Right Now Tutu & Bruss aren’t looking all that good which could change.
2020 draft really cost The Rams in 2022 though.
Cam Akers AWOL
T. Lewis cut
Van Jefferson was injured.’
T. Burgees cut
Hopkins-only backup TE on roster.
Jordan Fuller hurt
Clay Johnson (father a Ram) -cut
SLOMAN - cut
Anchrum-injured first play 2022.

Brandon Powell to Vikings, Rams lose another...

I hate all these posters that constantly say oh we can easily rind someone else - these guys are a dime a dozen. I heard this on Powell on this thread, I heard it about Gay, Dixon and one or two others on other threads.

Newsflash this is not so easy to find players as you say. We floundered around with punt/kick returners for several years. So not so easy. Plus every time he was in on the Offense he was contributing and that's saying a lot for our #6 wr. We had time where we looked for a kicker as well. Like I say kickers are about distance and accuracy most kickers that are in the NFL can make most FGs but it is the ones like Gold, Tucker Gay that make those extra deep ones or that one to win the game under intense pressure - not so easy.

Currently we have to fill 12 starters if Rapp/AShawn go elsewhere that is half the team plus a BU QB, and depth at CB now that Long has left. That's crazy and that is not factoring in Robinson possibly getting traded. I have never seen a team get dismantled like this one did in 1 season away from a Superbowl.

What do you do next?

I just don't agree with that statement. I mean, really .... Really ... REALLY ... Don't Agree.

Same as couple weeks ago when you posted:
"I think at this point people should know the cap doesn't really mean anything."

Same as the other day when you posted:
"JAG isn't necessarily a negative term tho. 98% of the players are in that category. "

I mean i gave examples to each those.

Tell me how the majority of team x's filler is better then team y's?

And yeah the CAP...i never lose sleep or worry over it. Guarantee if they had Cooper Kupp up for a new deal today they'd make it work. They've always have.

And yeah JAG isn't necessarily bad. Players come. Players go.

The Deion Sanders Effect

This is a long article about Sanders effect on the University Of Colorado in just his first few months as head coach. It is definitely worth the read if you like, College Football, Sanders, or a fan of CU Football. As a Colorado Native, Fan, and Attendee of the school I am excited for the change and energy he’s bringing.

https://www.espn.com/college-footba...how-deion-sanders-changing-direction-colorado
Yea , been kinda following the story

mostly because the Pac 12's status is kinda up in the air right now , and there has been alot of rumors , whatever , about Colorado joining the Big 12 with the other 4 corner schools

so I've been following along at home about all the college realinement talk

Washington , Oregon to the Big Ten ???

it changes every day , but it's been fun to follow along at home.................lol

4 comp picks awarded

[A] Compensatory Free Agent (“CFA”) shall be defined as an Unrestricted Free Agent (“UFA”) who: (i) signed with a new Club during the prior free gency signing period […] prior to 4:00 p.m., New York time, on the Monday following the NFL Draft for that League Year1

I am no expert, but I thought players count against the comp pick formula until the date quoted above. Which is why we sometimes wait until after the draft to sign players, so that it doesn't count against the formula. In my view OBJ wouldn't count towards any comp pick formula since he's been a free agent for over a year.

Could the Rams be planning for year 2023.5?

Acquiring a Brian Burns or Sweat for bit less to me is not putting the remodelling or rebuilding on hold. There is no guarantee you get a player of that caliber in the 1st round no matter where you pick and the rams have proven they go for the proven commodity as opposed to the "what ifs".
Also extending them is no different than signing them as a FA if the interest was there. You add a Burns and most of our grandmother's could play corner with he and AD rushing. Point is that speed up the rebuilding and he is young enough to sign long term. It's almost like Ramsey trade.

That said if your eggs are going into the offense and you have have young corners that's a difference maker for those corners. I'd still target Burns for sure and to me he also receives the torch from AD and who knows maybe AD sticks around if they fit effortlessly. Add JJ and the defense just needs to be adequate if the offense is the focus. Seems like the Andy Reid KC style. Coach has shown many times over he is not afraid to borrow from others. That's why this draft is huge.

Are the Cardinals ahead of us in the division?

If they don't somehow blow-it, this Arizona draft could be top notch. Trading down that 1'st (#3 overall) should bring an abundance of additional high picks.
I get the sentiment about trading down but with Anderson 8n their sites why risk it unless they trade down to a max of 5th - 7th which won't net them that much more versus losing an opportunity to get the best DE or DT.

Baker Mayfield signs with Bucs

This is exactly why I have a bad feeling why I think this season may go down as one of the worst seasons ever in Ram history.

No QB with young players all over the place replacing Ram Vets on the defensive side and possibly in the OL as well.

It is not looking good.

Detroit Lions from two years ago.

But I have high hopes that next year will be a start to a return to greatness for the Rams. Just like the Lions from last year once the Rams draft one of the three best QBs in the draft next year (Yes I am hoping for Caleb as well as a lot of other Rams fans).
I wouldn't hold my breath about the Rams using their first rd pick in the draft next season. They tried giving that one away to obtain Burns last season, I dont see them changing philosophies unless Staff is too banged up and they have no vet to trade for.
