With Kupp out

You haven't heard much about Allen Robinson because he's not on the team anymore. Demarcus Robinson is who is on the team. Demarcus was drafted by the Chiefs in 2016 as a 4th round pick. He has never realized his rookie potential. He's put up average WR3 type numbers which isn't bad but at 28 in his 7th year he is what he is. A decent backup/rotational WR. He only lasted a year in Baltimore and was released early by the Raiders.

Robinson has started games but the fact that pass heavy offenses like KC and Baltimore have moved on from him is telling. I see him as simply one year depth.

Cards are TANKING tanking

NBC’s Mike Florio reports the Cardinals would owe QB Kyler Murray $37 million in 2024 and $29 million in 2025 in injury guarantees if he can’t pass a physical before March.

Murray also has another $26 million in 2026 injury guarantees. The money could factor into how quickly Murray returns from the PUP list and/or lead to Murray sitting out 2023. The Raiders benched QB Derek Carr for Jarrett Stidham late in 2022 to avoid injury guarantees and Murray, who wasn’t drafted by the new coaching staff, could find himself in a similar spot.

I've been saying this for a long time that I don't think Murray ever sees the field again as a Cardinal. They drafted Tune because he's a scheme fit for what Gannon wants to play. A one read IPO style pretty much the same as the Eagles who run IPO a league-leading 30% of their offensive snaps. So Tune will start this year and depending upon how well he plays they may or may not draft Maye next year.

Obviously Florio has been reading my posts.

Rams final cuts

While I agree, I see some comparisons to coaches like Dick Vermeil and Jon Gruden.

Tremendous success and national attention at a very young age for an NFL Head Coach.
High energy and intensity that can exhaust that individual; and wear a little on those that person is around.
Tremendous opportunities outside their passion for coaching.

I do see McVay stepping away in the not too distant future but eventually returning to coaching.

My concern is that if the 2023 Rams are a weak team, it could hasten McVay's departure.

My hope is that they are competitive and improve as the 2023 season moves along; and McVay is excited and motivated to continue the Re-Build / Re-Load into 2024.
I don't think the record will determine if he stays. I believe he has already decided and he and the FO already expect a mediocre or less record. This is the beginning of them rebuilding a SB winner. They are all in for the long hall.
