First Ram cut to make 75

According to a tweet by QB Dylan Thompson, he was cut today by the Rams....

I think he was probably the 1st man on everyone's "Cut List"! No offence meant, we're not keeping 4 QB's and everyone knew he was just going to be a camp body!

GDT: Rams at Broncos

Thomas has gotten more game action and targets than any other WR and I am pretty sure it isn't even close. What does he have to show for it? a catch or two and numerous ugly drops. Its nice that he looks good in practices, but he has to show in games when it counts and he certainly hasn't been able to do that yet
Interesting, why are they giving Mike Thomas such a extended tryout? Why are they literally forcing him the ball? If you look at thomas, he's reminded me of Ike Bruce...no, not in production...not yet...but his movements...and his effort, from play to play is awesome....I know this guy is a player, it just hasn't clicked yet...What's even more surprising, I am sure they will keep him on the roster...over a guy like Nelson Spruce...and maybe Bradley Marquez

Rams 53-man roster predictions: Preseason week four edition

I like Green. And Magee. But with Reynolds being the ST demon he is, I don't think we keep 5 RBs........unless we keep only 2 QBs, which is highly unlikely.

On the WR front Williams, Richards, North should all be gone. Probably Austin Hill too. Let Thomas, McRoberts and Quick fight it out in PS game #4 for the 6th spot. The key is: What's Marquez's status?

TE's? What's not to love about Kendricks, Higbee and Harkey? The 4th should be between Hemingway and Cunningham.

LB? Will we keep 6? Ogletree, Barron, Ayers and Forrest are in IMO. What 2 (or 1) is good enough to keep? Hager does nothing for me. May be between Chubb, Grigsby and Littleton?

I do suspect this: Our O line is going to be really, really good. So is our D line. And I think our entire defense is going to be solid, including the DBs. Better than last year by far. We need the WRs/TEs to step up and make us a contender.

Catch The F'n Ball

Is Keenum a guy who can run the O, be efficient, avoid mistakes and make this happen? Yes, I think so.
While there were positives, Los Angeles’ ability to sustain drives was hampered by struggles on third down. The Rams began 0-of-5 on third down, including 0-of-4 with Keenum in at quarterback. L.A. finished just 1-of-7 on third-down opportunities in the first half, and were only 1-of-10 in the situation after three quarters.

Third down was an issue for the Rams’ offense last year, and will likely continue to be a point of emphasis as the club heads into the regular season.

How do you see the INITIAL 53

There are 45 locks for the 53 Imo due to PT in the preseason, experience, and/or coaching favoritism. This doesn't mean I believe all these guys are the best 45, but I believe that coaches like guys like Sensebaugh enough to keep them.

QB: Keenum, Goff, Mannion
RB: Gurley, Cunningham, Brown
FB: Harkey
WR: Britt, Austin, Cooper, Marquez
TE: Kendricks, Higbee, Hemmingway
OL: Robinson, Saffold, Barnes, Brown, Havenstein, Wichmann, Reynolds, Battle

DL: Quinn, Brockers, Donald, Hayes, Sims, Easley, Westbrooks
LB: Ogletree, Ayers, Barron, Lynch, Hager
CB: Johnson, Gaines, Joyner, Sensebaugh
S: McDonald, Davis, Alexander, Bryant

K: Zuerlein
P: Hekker
LS: McQuaide

This leaves 8 spots up for grabs. Here are the top contenders Imo, bolded are the one I want to make the team:

RB: Green, Magee
WR: Quick, Spruce, Thomas, McRoberts
TE: Cunningham
OL: Donnal, Kush, Williams
DL: Coples, Longacre, Thomas
LB: Forrest, Chubb
CB: Hill, Roberson
Actually you can keep 9 of these players, we have 1 player on IR! I don't know about keeping Thomas, the rest of your keeper are fine! I would probably keep Roberson and Kush in addition to them!

Improve Your Internet!

Another way people lose speed is with their wireless router.

A good wireless router costs a little more (not as much as you'd think), but the performance difference can be significant.

I am lucky to live in an area with a fibre connection... My wireless router keeps up at 180Mbps, wirelessly.

Rams 53-man roster predictions: Preseason week three edition

Wow, where do I start, ... not many 2'nds, or reserves, helped themselves today. Surprisingly, Spruce helped himself by being under the weather, as after Britt, Austin, Cooper & Kendricks, our WR's dogged it for the most part. LT Williams stank it up, TE's Higbee & Hemmingway dropped passes, Quick, once again, didn't do anything to help himself, and Mike Thomas dropped almost everything coming his way. The 2'nd team OL was penetrated as often as a porn star and our second team defense was mostly doing double duty as a sieve. Joyner was as pathetic as i've ever seen him, even Tru had problems.

Our 1'st team Defense was excellent, and considering our 1'st team OL was facing off against the top NFL defense, they mostly held their own, ... except for Saffold getting beat badly by Von Miller, often. The Rams starting O moved the ball, but could only come away with two field goals. Zuerlein was 3 for 3 today. Being an away game against the leagues Super Bowl winner, and that they kept their 1's on the field longer than the Rams, i'd say we did OK for a pre-season game. Compared to our earlier two games, it was a bit of a slap in the face as we had seen better of our 2's previously, but overall, this outing may help Fisher get down to 75 in a few days.
I'll watch this game again tomorrow before I chart cuts again, but this game was an eye opener, both offering renewed hope, and a few disappointments. jmo.
You hit it on the head. With everything Hemingway was disappointing. Guys who really stood out Matt Longacre who just continues to put pressure on the QB and live in the backfield, Mike Thomas both good and bad. The good with Thomas is that he is getting down on every ST play and even downed one punt at the 1, the bad? Well he's a WR who can't catch the ball at all. Duke Williams isn't worth keeping on the 53-man roster but I would stash him on the PS. Paul McRoberts should take Williams jersey right now he looks like a solid WR I like him alot. Austin Hill needs to play earlier in the game just can't get a read off one target and one catch. WOW the OL when Mannion was trying to win the game was like if we took Davin Joseph of a couple of years ago and cloned him to play every offensive line position. HUMAN TURNSTILES! Williams went from one of the favorites of the coaching staff to getting his pink slip on tuesday.

A reminder before the 3rd Preseason game

In 2010, Spags coached the third pre season game against the New England Patriots. This was Sam Bradford's rookie year. The Rams starters not only led 20-14 in the first half, the final score was 36-35 Rams. Bradford went 15/22 for 189 yards, two touchdowns, and no INT's.

Unfortunately, the Rams finished 7-9 and the Patriots went 14-2.

Moral of the story? Let's PLEASE not read too much into this game. Terrific success is fools gold in the pre-season and an abysmal performance portends nothing.

I just hope to come out healthy because this staff NEVER reveals its true nature in the pre season.
