I recently took a job at a restaurant that serves breakfast...I have to be up at 2:45am and at work by 4am. I’ve been doing it over a month now and I still am not used to it. It sucks ass.

I miss working 8am-6pm. Lol

For the last 5 years till about a month ago i woke up at 3:00am to be at work by 4:00am. Luckily a month ago was given an option to start at 5 so now i get up at 4:00. It makes a huge difference. Was always tired and never got used to waking up at 3:00am. I hope it changes for you @Juggs and you get used to it somehow.

4:15AM- Morning coffee, shower, and pack my supplies. I arrive 6:15 at the hospital and clock in at 6:45 for a 12 hour shift. I'm a nurse. ( I love 12 hour shifts)

I also work at a restaurant, we do brunch so I get a bit of a later start. I have to be there at 6:30, I'm up an hour before. I like to wake up, eat, coffee, etc. It takes some adjusting, I'm usually asleep by 10:30, naps help. Honestly the only issue that I've encountered is it throws off my "schedule", I don't enjoy taking dumps at work.

4:30 -5:00

depends on how many times I hit the snooze button

at work at 6:00 , off at 2:30 ish

4:30 most days. Then I leave at 5 and commute for an hour, work 10 hours straight, commute an hour 15 minutes back, start schoolwork around 8:30 and do that until about 11:30.

@RhodyRams I envy you so much.

I've been doing that for a year or so. I'm will not used to it. I'd say Circadian rhythms are hard to change, but I didn't have any terrible moving to different time zones. It's only getting up earlier in whatever timecode that bothers me.

5:15 am

Brush and breakfast

40 minute power sleep

Leave at 7 am, drive 1 - 1.5 hours. Leave work around 4 pm; drive 1 - 3 hours.

Check email once at 5:30 pm, and again at 6 pm. Then its me time.

After years of waking up early in the am I wake up most days on my own between 5 and 6 am.
The worst work schedule I’ve ever had was a split shift....actually two different jobs.
1 am - 6 am then 10:15 am - 7:15 pm. Six days a week with a midnight to 7 am on the seventh day.
With young kids and sports practice etc it wasn’t so much when I woke up but when I actually slept.
Did that crap for almost 4 years.

6:15 AM at work by 7:00, commute is just over 3 miles each way. I used to get up at 2:00 AM to be to work by 3:00 with a 24 mile drive each way.

Up around 7:30. Have coffee with the wifey, then hang around usually reading some knuckleheads' remarks on this awesome Rams site I know of, then off for my 7 minute drive to work to be there at 9.

When ever my eyes open in the morning or afternoon. After my morning coffee (fresh ground beans of course) and a bagel I take care of my potted garden on my balcony. That probably takes a whole exhausting hour. Retirement is tough.

All kidding aside I used to work 12 to 14 hour days on work days (3 days a week). My business had me driving 35-45K miles per year and that went on for over 30 years. The 4th day was an 6-8 hr day in the office doing all the crap paperwork running your own business generates. I generally was out the door no later than 4:30 or 5 am on the long days.

What I like about this thread; I thought I was an outlier waking up so early.

I am surprised how many of us are up before 6am.

I used to get up at O'crack of sparrow.

But that was in the military.

Nowadays I get up about 7:30. Bed by 1 AM.
