Any timepiece aficionados?

I would say I'm very much a newb when it comes to watches and I certainly don't have the budget for the "high-end" stuff. Having said that it doesn't stop me from drooling over watches I'll never afford.

I recently picked up the nicest watch I've ever owned. To me it's stunning and pictures certainly don't do it justice. I had been eyeing it for a while and finally picked it up a little over a week ago as a treat to myself (with the wife's stamp of approval of course).

It's the Omega Seamaster Professional Diver 300m. I went to my authorized dealer with the intention of picking up a black dial but could not stop looking at the white. I would normally think a white dial bland. Not this one! Like I said earlier... a picture cannot convey how amazing this thing looks in light.

I wear a Casio G-Shock GBD100. Yeah, I know… a freaking Casio. I love it.

It tracks steps, syncs stats to phone app… I got it for that, the battery life (2yrs), and insane durability. It just works. High contast LED display. Optional faces.

This watch might outlast me.

Both very nice.

@rdw I can see why you like that one. Good call on the white dial. Damn nice.

I'm a big watch guy. I have a list of watches I drool over... one day!

Meantime, I have a couple of go to brands for more day to day wearing at day to day prices. One is Tissot and one is Citizen. Watches in the $150-$300 range that are excellent quality and proper watch makers (not fashion brands like Boss etc). Pics here:

My dream watches are the Tag Monaco above and this classic Longines:

My old man has a stunning Rolex that is apparently being left in the will to me. Hopefully I don't wear that one for a LONG time.

Tissot makes some nice watches! Browsing through their catalog this one, in particular, is singing to me.

Really nice!

I was gifted 2 watches.

The Illinois watch I’ve determined is 1914 and what is REALLY cool this watch was in my Grandpa’s pocket.

It was not working when I got it, but I found a jeweller to fix it. It works like a charm.

The Tissot is quite nice and was for a work achievement 10yrs or so ago. I got fired the year after.

I don’t like wearing watches anymore. I use my phone.

Before that though, I wore watches as a utilitarian item. Cheap Velcro strap and a cheap timex watch. If I broke it Landscaping I bought another.

Before that, when I was a kid (6th grade) I carried a pocket watch with a chain. I was the only kid in school with a cool pocket watch.

One day while fishing around 1980 I saw something shiny in the creek below me. The water was moving fast so I couldn’t make it out. I reached around a brought it up. It was a Timex watch and it was still running. I attached it to my fishing vest and used it for several years. That’s back when they had those commercials. It takes a licking and keeps on ticking!

I had a Timex watch I wore when I went fishing. Had it for 10 years before the pin rusted out and I lost it while fishing. I watched it as it sank about 5 ft when this HUGE 5' Cuda saw it flashing and grabbed it. LOL I have always like to think some guy caught that fish and found the watch inside.

That was in the late 70's 5 miles due west of Oceanside. The same trip where I caught my one and only marlin when I was fishing for mako shark. 150 lb marlin on 50 lb test off a 20 ft boston whaler.
