Feels damn good. We are scratching and clawing our way to wins. Defense is still inconsistent, but they are feasting on negative plays. Donald had an amazing game today. Keenum delivered when asked. We gotta find a way to get Gurley going.

I also felt that Austin had a really good day. He gave Peterson problems. But he just barely missed pulling in that deep ball and Keenum missed him a few times with inaccurate passes.

I'm glad we're winning, but I'm still of the opinion that I want to see Goff against Buffalo. Hopefully, Fisher deems he's ready. But I'd be shocked if that happens.

Still, I feel like it's the perfect time for Goff. The OL and WRs/TEs are coming into their own.

60% completion percentage.
111.25 QB Rating.
2 Touchdowns.
8.9 yards per completion.

55 yards removed from his stat line (rushing and passing) due to O-line penalties.

Yeah, we should clearly pick some damn nits about how he played tonight.

I understand what you're saying X.

However, were still averaging 15.75 ppg. And Keenum left a lot of plays on the field. Tavon should have had a huge day. Yes, he dropped that long pass but that's always a 50-50 ball. IMO, Goff will give us more consistency at the position. We had multiple wide open receivers and he still missed a few guys.

There's no denying his grittiness and willingness to play the position. But I rather have a guy who can throw those fast balls over the middle and keep drives going with his arm.

You mean, like when he scrambled to the opposing 10 yard line and it was called back?
Or the drops that would have put us deep in opposing territory?

Be honest. If Goff played and had the same exact stats, you'd be elated, wouldn't you.

THAT was some 3-1 bullcrap!

Don't read my posts then. It's as simple as that. I summed up my thoughts on the game and my thoughts going into next week. Deal with it.

How does a rookie QB that's never played a regular season snap give us consistency ?

I want to see Goff succeed just as much as the next guy but we are winning. To change QB's while we're up 3-1 would be asinine. I'm pretty sure if the players were polled they'd keep Keenum in there, at least for now.

Why? If Goff provides better play, that makes us a better team. IMO, it's asinine to wait until the Keenum and the team struggle to play Goff. That's reactionary.

If he's ready, he's ready. If not, let's get him up to speed as soon as we can.

Simple...because I think it sends the wrong message to the team. You play well and win games = benched. I know you've been pounding the table for Goff Jerry and I'm not against you, I just think we should be patient while we have the luxury of a winning team. Keenum made some outstanding plays today and is looking better each week. I'm not ready to hit the reset button on the rapport/chemisty that's building.

This is the Celebration thread, not the "summing up our thoughts and picking apart all the things that went wrong thread." It baffles me why some of you don't get that.

Let me ask you a question: Is the vent thread reserved only for negative posts? Would you get pissy if I made a post in the vent thread talking about both the negatives and the positives from a game? Of course not.

There's no reason to get pissy because I talked about both the positives and negatives in a celebration thread.

The celebration and vent threads are my "sum up your thoughts on the game" threads. If that's not where they're supposed to go, then make a separate thread for that. Because if I were to post a thread doing that, guess where it would get moved to?

If this place really is so sensitive that I can't speak about my thoughts on the game and my thoughts about next game, it's not a board I want to be a member of.

And with that, I'm done with this topic.

The only message it sends to the team is that the best player will play. If Goff is that guy, play him. If he's not, play Keenum until he is.

Fair enough, but isn't that what's happening right now ? Clearly the coaching staff feels Goff will become the better player but right now it's Keenum.

Yes. That is my assumption.

Hmmm why was my post moved here?

Don't be pissy.

It's kind of an unwritten rule that you don't debate in either the vent thread or the celebration thread.
You either celebrate or you vent. Been that way for a long time.

stats dont tell the full story. Everyone that watched the game saw him make some terrible throws that ruined drives. Whether you're someone that wants Keenum to start or Goff to start, I think everyone can agree their were plays and points left on that field today. Not all were by Keenum, but he had his fair share that left plenty to desire from fans
