A guy named Robert Mays, on a Nate Tice podcast said that Von Miller should have been the MVP of the 2021 Super Bowl.

He didn’t elaborate. I liked the addition of Miller on the team. He was great against the run and in containing the QB. But did he deserve Super Bowl MVP when the Rams beat the Bengals?

Without rewatching the game, I’d say Kupp, Stafford, and AD all had better games.

Absolutely ridiculous - I thought Kupp and Donald together should have but I see the thought on Kupp solo definitely not Von over AD

I heard that.. thought it was fine as an opinion.., Von had a hell of a game.. but I’d take your three first.

Matthew Stafford actually should have been. By the 2nd half he was throwing to a 50% healthy Van Jefferson, a blanketed Cooper Kupp, a third string TE and Ben Skowronek who was not ready to be playing in a big moment like that yet. Not to mention he had no run game to speak of as Cam was coming off an achilles tear, Hendo was dealing with a high ankle and Sony was banged up. Stafford still to this day remains the ONLY QB in the NFL history to win the Super Bowl throwing 3 TDs and not win Super Bowl MVP.

If so, I guess A'Shawn Robinson and Ernest Jones should be in the running, too.
And one of the biggest unsung plays in that game was Weddle's hit on Boyd that set up the 4th down that led to the Bengals last punt. Unless I am confusing that with the play that prevented the first down that led to the Gaines/Donald no gain on 3rd and 1, then the last play of the game made by Donald.

Von was great that game, only wining teams players are considered for MVP and I am glad we had a handful of standouts that day.
Who's next is my concern now

The no look pass in that situation, was amazing. Totaly thew him open. Any other Qb run that last drive would have got it. The bias towards stat pattford and the Kupp season momentum. Doomed him. What is more important? WR or QB.

No. I think OBJ might have deserved more votes for MVP than Miller. VM was an excellent acquisition. Did what he was supposed to do. Thank you. MVP? Bottom of the top 5.
