I didn't really like anything by Genesis after Steve Hackett left. The albums mentioned by you (Duke, Abacab) had a smattering of good songs, but I think the last album they did with Steve (Wind and Wuthering) was their last truly solid album.
Luckily for us, Hackett has put out a lot of solo albums.

Like dozens of them.
I just bought his Archives 1 four disc set.

"Defector" is pretty intense.

The poster @Selassie just reminded me of;
Santana - Caravanserai.

My first excursion into really good world music.

For my money, it doesn't get any better than Barry Manilo II! It only went platinum when it should have gone double platinum!
My favorite song on the album? "Mandy", of course! ~ @thirteen28

Turns out that the, "face in the window crying all the night" was his dog Mandy.

So it's really a song about animal abuse

What happens when you take Pearl Jams drummer and combine it with the bass player and rhythm guitar of Blind Melon with the vocals of George Shinns son?

Find out with Los Angeles' own UNIFIED THEORY!

Epic shiznit

Pink Floyds Meddle and Atom Heart Mother are both underrated.
Have you ever seen David Gilmour and Richard Wright do Echoes with Gilmour's band including homeboy from the LBC?

It's on Gilmour's;
Remember That Night.

Have not. Echoes Live at Pompeii is my favorite.
They do an even longer extended version than the Pompeii version.

Hard to believe they can improve on Pompeii but I think they did and they also do an amazing job with Echoes on the Live in Gdansk
