I think I’d have some 4WR looks that use his speed ready - but at this point, I’m not moving away from the base 3WR set that is working so well.

I really don’t understand why he didn’t get more snaps when the Giants were stopping both run and short passes. He is the deep threat that opens up those underneath options.

Kupp and Puka were completely taken out of the game, if it weren’t for a broken tackle 80 yard YAC.

Tutu get's injured and Mr. Robinson steps into the breach. Even @Memento seems to have forgotten his real first name!
He seemed to be coming into his own before the concussion and was taking meaningful reps. Will he have a role in the playoffs and into the future?

I’m more scared he’ll get a 42 million dollar contract in the off season ~ Tavon Austin

McVay has an issue with forgetting about players that can contribute. Freeman should be getting carries too.
Freeman does not catch passes. When he us in, it is an automatic tipoff the play is probably a run. When you are going against the better defenses of playoff-caliber teams, you don't wanna provide easy tells.

Freeman caught nearly 50 passes for the Broncos one season. I don't buy this argument at all, because you can run play action with Freeman. It is a McVay issue. Has happened with many a player in this system.

He's pretty good pass protector. Against some looks/down and distance you can still keep run/pass in doubt.
And there are always draw plays.
He can't catch at all? Hard to believe in a pro athlete.
And how about using him at FB?

Well, you have to think McVay has this little, very fast weapon most DCs have forgotten about waiting for a splash play in the playoffs when we need it.
Has to be a reason he has not used him lately.
Might need a trick up your sleeve in January, hopefully FEBRUARY !

Well, he's a free agent after next year. Personally, I'd love to see Brenden Rice on this team (see Draft Crush thread as to why).

Freeman is a better RB than Rivers. Why McVay has a fixation on undersized players is beyond me.

Unfortunately I think Freeman will be gone next year. There is no question they will need to draft a RB next year. A team making a SB run needs a better #2 than Rivers, who is undersized and lacks quickness and speed. Unlike Williams, Ronnie doesn't have the field vision or the burst. Rivers is a JAG #3 type RB. He might occasionally break more than a 3 or 4 yard run but IMO it's normally due to the blocking.

Rivers has soft hands, and excelled in college at the screen game. I think he's a usable #3 or #4 back.

Freeman deserves better than being buried on the depth chart.

Zach Evans doesn't seem to be a fit, and I assume he will not stick.

So yes, we need something in the draft.

I thought Mcvay had something up his sleeve for the 2018 superbowl to counter the 6 man front.

He didn't.

I'll always believe Anderson could have been an ace up his sleeve had he gameplanned around him mashing that defense. CJ was the guy who got this offense rolling again but I figure something happened during the playoffs to put him in McVay's doghouse. And my guess is he wanted the feature role and it didn't go over well.
