You keep him for 2020 regardless. Tag him if he won't resign, and then see what you can get for him. I suspect they would get at least one first, and maybe two back for him then from some team wanting a great CB that has plenty of cap room.

Cooper Kupp is awesome but Robert Woods is the best receiver on the Rams roster. He may be the most underrated WR in the NFL. He's a go to guy. He's tough. He's smart. He's one of the best blockers in the NFL at the position. And he's humble.

Robert Woods, Cooper Kupp, Tyler Higbee, Jared Goff, Donald, Ramsey, JJ and soon Rapp will join that group. A great group to build around and tweak every year.

Quietly the last 2 seasons... good for 16th most receiving yards in 2019, 17th in 2018. That’s #1 caliber.

Finally! I was surprised nobody else beat you to this post. Gurley and Cooks were simply too unreliable physically to carry that much cap. Signing any football player is a risk but at the time of their signing, they had earned their play slots. To say the Rams erred in paying them is EXACTLY like saying they erred in paying Donald and then next year he blows a knee or gets chronic back trouble like Quinn. Without such hindsight ANYONE WHO SAYS GURLEY AND COOKS WERE MISTAKE CONTRACTS MUST SUPPORT THE SAME ARGUMENT ABOUT DONALD.

I’m of a mind that trading for Ramsey was much like trading for Peters and Fowler. They all have to prove it to get paid and that includes the locker room influence. Once they have time to more fully observe his performance, they will determine his financial worth to the team...but not until then. Plus...for those who say Gurley and Cooks contracts were mistakes, shouldn’t you also make sure he stays healthy next year?

The thing I appreciate most about this regime under McVay, they are bold, decisive, reasoned, and willing to make and admit mistakes without damaging the team by sweeping a problem under the rug. Peters didn’t fit, so he’s gone. If Ramsey doesn't fit, he will be as well.

Look it was a steep price to pay compensation wise, and it will be a steep price to pay salary wise, but he is a man shut down corner. They are hard to come by. Last year with the Rams he was as shut down as it gets period. He takes on the other teams #1 wr and shuts them down. Most teams are in trouble, because their #2s and 3s are distant to their #1. If
Ramsey shuts their #1 down teams are hard pressed to score as easily.

As far as trading him it just doesn't make sense unless it is to Miami at #5 and we take Okudah if Detroit doesn't take him at #3 and we get some more draft picks from Miami one more in the first and one 2nd maybe. We just traded for a cheaper version of Jalen by many accounts, plus we get some other picks maybe Murray ILB and Swift or Taylor at RB
and we are not stuck paying him while the rookie will be astronomically cheaper and possibly not much of a downgrade. Not to mention we have more flexibility with our own picks to move around.

We can't trade him for any higher pick without a package of other stuff and what's the logic? Say we were able to package Ramsey, Big Rob and #57 to Washington to get Chase Young and Trent Williams but now we have a huge hole at DB. I love this based on Young"s upside just don't see how we solve the DB hole. The only trade that makes sense is one that includes Okudah and that would need to be made on draft day because we can't make it until we know what other teams are doing.
