Merlin Olsen and Deacon Jones are the first two players that come to my mind but I also have great memories of Roman Gabriel (Was the Rams starting QB in the First Rams Game I Ever Watched when I was a Kid!) and Jack Youngblood!!! No Doubt that the Rams have a lot of GREAT PLAYERS throughout their History!!!

I am often skeptical of these lists, generations of development in training, coaching, and rule changes have a strong influence on any would-be list.
I personally think it should be broken down into smaller chunks of time that represent better the impact of the natural progression of the league and its players.
But I get that it is fun and we are starving for some football news

You could arguably start any such list with the Rams' DL "Mount Rushmore": Youngblood, Jones, Olsen and Donald (greatest all-time DL of any franchise, bar none!)

That's not bad, but I would eliminate Elroy "Crazy Legs" Hirsch and insert Torry Holt. It's not that Hirsch shouldn't be on the list, it's just that we never saw him play. In fact, there might be more old-timers on this list if someone wanted to look into it, but I started watching in 1969 and that's as far back as I go.

I became of fan of the Rams in the preseason of 1972 (I think it was the very first game at Arrowhead stadium). It's easy to make lists off of players we have seen play, but when you look at the production and statistics of Waterfield, Van Brocklin, Fears and Hirsch compared to their contemporaries, you have to give these guys their due. There wasn't a Rams offense that compared to the 51 Rams until the 99 GSOT.

Yep-there's a little recency bias going on if you don't include Waterfield, Van Brocklin, Fears, Hirsch....

Yeah, I mean left off a HOFer like Tom Mack, and Waterfield Fears & Van Brocklin are Rams legends. I would even take Harrah over Whit because he played with the Rams for 11 or 12 yrs, was a 6x pro bowler, 2x all pro, and great blocker for some great ground games.
