I love the draft…absolutely love it. So much fun leading up to and during it. But you know what I love even more (que Chappelle in Half-Baked…wink): winning!

Rams have figured out something here and an angle not done so before. So smart. But can be risky since requires these stars to produce and stay healthy. Also requires great scouting to hit on some of the later round picks; and great coaching to teach these lesser known guys up to be viable NFL players. Kudos to the Rams and their FO.

yeah its kind of genius if it works... let other people draft and see who becomes good - then just trade a bunch of lottery tickets for a proven player.

I don't think it's THAT simple. That technique has been used before (think Redskins), the thing that is different now relates to compensation for departing players. Les is just a faster learner about how when factored in correctly, he can mitigate against the "lost picks" to get these proven commodities.

But you're right, egg will be on face if there are a rash of injuries to the highly compensated "core" players.

On the other side of this Von trade, and I mentioned this in another thread earlier this week... George Paton's kids won't even speak to him after this trade. He's the Broncos' GM and he was serious when he revealed this to the press.

No it was inspired by the Michael Jordan "Fuck them Kids" meme which went viral years ago.

The context surrounding this Jordan meme is hilarious because it shows how much of a ruthless competitor he was. He was making an appearance at a kids basketball camp hosted by Chris Paul. He said a few words to the hundreds of kids attending, and then Chris Paul grabbed the microphone and issued a challenge to MJ. He said that at his old age he bets MJ cant take 3 deep jump shots without missing...and if he did miss, he would have to give every single kid at the camp a free pair of Jordans. MJ went on to take like 5 shots and made every single one. All while the kids were surrounding the court and screaming and yelling, trying to get him to miss so they'd get free shoes. But nope, MJ sunk every shot and thus the meme was born.
