Commentator Skip Bayless is leaving ESPN when his contract is up at the end of August.

The network announced the move Tuesday, a day after news broke that "Monday Night Football" play-by-play voice Mike Tirico is departing ESPN for NBC.

Bayless could reunite at Fox with former ESPN executive Jamie Horowitz. He's the latest prominent personality to leave in the past year as the network has looked to cut costs.

Bayless joined ESPN in 2004 as a writer and TV commentator. He raised his profile trading inflammatory opinions with Stephen A. Smith on the daily studio show "First Take."

I get the hate for the guy, but it goes a little overboard sometimes.

Can people not tell he's exaggerating and playing a role?

If nothing else, the guy has provided a lot of entertaining clips over the years.

I liked first take he adds entertainment to it. As long as Stephen smith smith still there I'm fine

I really haven't watched espn in probably a decade with the exception of Monday night football and some other sporting events. I can't stand anyone on that entire channel with the exception of a select few. And MNF I have never been able to stand any of the announcers they have.
