We need a lot of stuff.

We needed a CB more than a DT in 2006, so we took Tye Hill instead of Ngata.
The next year we needed a DT more than a CB, so we took Adam Carriker instead of Revis.

If Walter Jones is staring you in the face, maybe you don't pass on him to take Sammy Watkins.

WR is certainly 1 or 1a my friend and I could be persuaded that Watkins is a decent enough wr to pick. :)

I'd love to draft Sammy, but I'd also love to protect Sam and run the ball and defend the pass. If we can do all 3 awesome, if we can only do two of the three I'll sacrifice drafting Sammy.

Well I think we have proven that no matter how well you protect Bradford if you don't have people with the ability to get open and make catches it doesn't matter.

Do it the Peyton way (Harrison, Wayne, Clark, Faulk, James) then (Decker, Thomas, Thomas and Welker) and you don't get hit nearly as often because you don't have to hold the ball.

Keep in mind, Sam does not have Peyton's ability to avoid getting sacked, he needs a much better OL than Peyton does.

When did we prove that? I thought we proved that if you give Sam time and can run the ball then Sam plays the best football of his life?

LOL just how does Peyton "avoid sacks"?

Does he shake tacklers? Does he run away from them? Does his line give him all day a la Brady?

No. No. And no.

He does have the great abilty to find the mismatch most times but that is MUCH enhanced by the fact he has ALWAYS played with world class talents, the likes of which I have already noted.

Funny though how in the SB when his receivers finally couldn't get open he looked like a struggling, shaken, turnover prone QB.

Give Sam the weapons and the line will be just fine as it was last year.

we need sammy watkins not a ot first
Welcome to the board

Have to pass on Watkins there are other positions of greater need. Protecting Bradford has to be the highest priority it wouldn't do any good to have megatron if Bradford is being hit in 2 seconds or less every time he drops back.

Very true. If our running game is going strong then we're good. However, when our running is shut down that's when we need Watkins.

Welcome aboard.

I will say this regarding Sammy. He is in the top tier group of players in this draft. Greg Cosell said he's the best WR to come out since AJ Green and Julio Jones. So he certainly would be a great add.

Thing is, there are about 3 or 4 players (excluding QBs) in this draft that are better than anyone from last year. I believe we need to come away with one of them.

Clowney, Robinson, Watkins, and maybe Matthews. I expect Snead to get one of them. He said he wants HOFers. Well, you don't pass on all of those guys.

Sam has enough time to throw the rock, ESPECIALLY working off our run game. The issue, plain and simple is the wr's. Not to mention, adding a great wr will help eleviate some of the running issue we had in SF, in Seattle and in Arizona because those teams won't be loading the box..."or else."
