QUINN, DONALD NAMED TO PRO BOWL

ST. LOUIS - Rams DE Robert Quinn will make his second-consecutive trip to the Pro Bowl, and this year he’ll have a fellow St. Louis defender joining him. Rookie DT Aaron Donald was also selected to the NFL’s annual All-Star game, which will be played January 25 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ari.

Quinn currently has 10.5 sacks to lead the Rams. This is his third-consecutive season in double digits in the category. In addition, Rams coaches have credited him with 35 quarterback pressures, 22 quarterback hits and 13 tackles for loss. Since Quinn entered the league in 2011, his 45.0 sack are sixth most in the NFL, and over the last three seasons, only Houston’s J.J. Watt has more sacks than Quinn’s 40.0.

Donald is the first Rams rookie to make the Pro Bowl since RB Jerome Bettis earned the honor in 1993. He’s the first Rams rookie defensive player to receive a Pro Bowl nod since LB Isiah Robertson did so in 1971.

Donald, who was the 13th overall pick in May’s NFL Draft, leads all NFL rookies with 8.0 sacks and ranks fifth in the category among all interior defensive linemen. His 8.0 sacks are fourth most by a Rams defensive tackle since the NFL began recognizing the stat in 1982. Donald has 17 tackles for loss, which is the most by a defensive tackle since the NFL began tracking the stat in 1997.

Quinn and Donald give St. Louis multiple defenders in the Pro Bowl for the first time since 2003 (DE Leonard Little and DB Aeneas Williams). Quinn is the first Rams defender to make the Pro Bowl in consecutive seasons since CB Jerry Gray did so in 1988-89.

Nobody on offense?

First things first, our DL is amazing. Quinn and Donald are studs, and I'm so happy we landed AD in the draft. Could end up being the best draft pick we've made in a long long long time.

2nd thing, you cannot tell me there's a better punter than Johnny Hekker. He deserves it.

Good crap. Much deserved.

PR Tavon Austin and CB Janoris Jenkins are among alternates.

Janoris Jenkins is an alternate?

No offense Janoris and he's not nearly as bad as some fans on here say, but there's no way he deserves to be an alternate.

So it's pretty much a lock that Janoris will get into the pro bowl cause one of those guys will be in the Super Bowl. Nice!

Why not. He is definitely on par with Peterson. And he has more defensive touchdowns then any corner. He was robbed his rookie year.. I recall about 3 touchdowns that he have given up all year and he is a better tackler than Sherman and peterson.

Not as consistent, don't think he's as good a corner as guys like Sherman on a per snap basis. Not really a shut down guy. His TDs are fantastic and all but he gives up more big plays than you would like as a Pro Bowler. I guess I can see it now, but I think there's probably better corners to give the spot to.

Peterson only got in on name recognition though, he's been absolute horseshit.

Oof. I don't think so, dude. Sherman, as much as I dislike him, is a way better tackler than Jenkins. That said, Jenkins' tackling and run support greatly improved this year. The reason he's not starting in the Pro Bowl is because the QB Rating against him is 109.8, and nearly 70% of passes thrown into his coverage were completed.

The CB position was clearly just a list of the most popular CBs in the game. The fact that Jenkins is even an alternate is evidence of that.
