Sad, surprising news.

Figured it was notable enough to post it in the main forum. Mods, feel free to move over if it is in wrong place.

I live in Spokane and he was a coach at WSU who was a ton of fun to listen to. A real character and talented too! Very sorry to see him pass.

Mike Leach has a complicated legacy, from what I've heard publicly (I didn't know the man well enough in private to properly say what he was like.), but nobody deserves to die that young. My dad and mom are older than he was, for clarity's sake, and I can't imagine what his family is feeling right now.

Rest in peace, Coach.

That's awful news!
The guy made the air raid offense legit in college football. Damn 61 is too freakin young.

Loved Texas Tech during the air raid days, and still mad at Craig James’s son for crying to his daddy to get Mike fired. RIP

Yeah - exactly. Talk about privileged.

Didn’t James help preserve some of ED29’s Rams Carrie’s thought at SMU? My memory is toast

Talk about Freedom of speech

Mike Leach was always fun to listen to. How that Adams guy try’d to F’ him over ?

His football mind always challenged the logical thinking. A total innovator.
Who tried to screw him over?

It’s sad way too young hard to believe with a heart condition so serious, he was still coaching. RIP Coach you help transform the college game.

Coach Leach coached here at Valdosta State University at the birth of the Air Raid O under Coach Hal Mumme. He was a special breed of coach. That is a heck of a coaching tree that came from those days. RIP Coach.
