1. Maintain that run game potency we've had since CJ came aboard. It compensates for Kupp's loss and makes us hard to defend in a different way. It also helps sustain drives which will be important as our defense will not hold up to the Saints if our offense is 3 'n outing.

2. Try to avoid instances of Joyner being on Thomas. Joyner is a liability and allowing him to line up on a top weapon is a recipe for big plays of the bad variety. That first TD he gave up vs Dallas was him, but it was also a schematic deal where Dallas got the look they wanted and it paid off. Coverages need to focus on him in third and long situations.

3. Pressure's gotta be consistent. Brees is an assassin but move him off his spot and his accuracy dips. This of course is a no-brainer but it's still a critical part of this matchup. In the midseason matchup they removed Donald and we didn't pressure him enough. This time around there has to be more hurries and instances where he's feeling the heat. Fowler, Ebu, you two dudes in particular gotta ball out.

4. Have the deep shots ready. Saints are going to sell out to stuff the run game. Goff has to be ready to make them pay once or twice when they start gambling. This might well be another epic milestone type game for him if they prep this right.

Thomas destroyed peters last time , hopefully Talib can help this time around .

Offense needs to stay attacking, cant take the foot off the pedal and let this crowd take over the game.

1) add chicken bones to pressure cooker and cover with water. Add carrots, celery and onion along with 1 TB vinegar. Cook for 2 hours. Strain and refrigerate.

2) when cool, skim any fat off the top of the stock. Blend roasted tomatoes with 3 Arbol chilis and add to stock

3) Chop 4 carrots and 3 Aciote squash and toss into hot stock pot to brown. Add stock and bring to simmer.

4) Take 1 lb xtra lean ground beef and 1/4 lb chorizo. Mix in 1/2 cup rice, 1 egg, 1 tsp cumin, 1/2 tsp chili powder, 1 tsp dried Mexican oregano, 1/2 C. Mint (dont skip this), salt and pepper. Mix by hand and roll meatballs into 1" balls. Slowly add to simmering pot.

5) let summer for about 45 minutes.

6) serve with fresh chopped cilantro, onion and lime juice with warm corn tortillas on the side.

That's a recipe to beat the Saints.

....nevermind. that's a recipe for Albondigas

We also need a plan for the crowd noise, like calling two plays so Goff just has to issue a "kill" call to audible into the second play. That said, protection could be problematic so the OL is going to have to be able to communicate...

And speaking of communication; our secondary must talk to each other pre snap so we dont get into a situation where Peter's is pointing fingers again.

The Saints are beatable and at this point in the season, with our boys firing on all cylinders, it wouldn't even be a game if they didn't have home field.

I think you are right on all your points but to me #3 IS the Key!!! If, the Rams don’t keep pressure on Drew Brees I think he and the Saints will win this game!!! I DON’T like the Saints (NEVER Have!) BUT I DO totally respect Drew Brees!!!

Wade should consider playing Shields and Johnson III at safety with Talib pressing Thomas. Joyner has been a huge liability in the passing game. Although Shields would be a liabilty in the running game but I fear Thomas will go off again more than I fear their running game. Shields provides the speed and instincts needed to be a good ball hawk. Another wrinkle that the Saints may not be ready for.

Defensive backs have to be on the same page. Cannot have these breakdowns in coverage.
Donald has to be more of a presence than he was against Dallas, or against NO the first time. Our pass rush starts and ends with him.
Goff has to play great. Has to be prepared to match Brees throw for throw if it comes to it.

We have to double thomas I don't understand why the eagles and other teams don't. I don't think anyone on our team can line up 1v1 against that guy he's on the top of his game right now with one of the best QBs throwing him the ball. Maybe if Talib was younger I'd be all for it.

I think it's simple cover Thomas and play the run and take out the crowd

Cover Thomas and let Donald and company take out Brees (I don't mean hurt him, just take him out of his game.)
