Wow. Oh well.. he never panned out the way I thought he would.

I know that a lot of yall loved him. I remember him for huge drops and being captain of the worst special teams corps we ever fielded.

Don’t get be wrong, he gave full effort and he is a better football player than I ever could be - no hate in my heart for him or anything like that.

But … I am A-OK with his release.

To expand on my previous post... I thought Benny Skow would become a third-down "specialist" capable of getting that first down every time, and also grabbing that key reception when they needed it most, in addition to being a great special-teams player. Unfortunately, he never developed as a receiver.

I believe McVay is letting him go now so he can catch on with another team as soon as possible.

New era...running the ball and so they may not keep 6 WRs this year. So the #5 WR needs to return punts.

And while Benny can block, it's the last yr of his contract and Whittingham takes his spot.

They did him a favor to cut him now. Classy move.

I like Skow, not the most gifted but got his hands dirty and worked hard for his roster spot. I didn't think he'd make it to the regular season roster after additions we made in offseason but am surprised they cut him this early. Thought he'd at least be part of competition and insurance in case some injuries happened before week 1 for special teams purposes. See if any ex-coaches pick him up like Minny or Atlanta.

Yeah, great for what a 7th round pick is.

Interesting, I thought for sure he was considered the best ST'er we had on the team... I wonder if this is part the Rams trying to do right by him and let him catch onto a team before TC.

Lions should be all over him. They're receiving core is actually a mess right now with Reynolds having left. He's can do a lot of what Reynolds does (not as well) at receiver.

Hell of a pick for a 7th rounder.

We must like our UDFA WR’s and Whittington pretty good which makes me happy as hell.

Good by the FO they let him go early to find a good spot for him to fit in.

I understand this from a football/roster building standpoint … but I hate it because I just liked Benny Skow. And if you don’t like Benny Skow, you are a communist heathen who hates America and puppy dogs.

Good luck Ben, please just don’t go to an NFC west team.

I thought the writing was on the wall with the Whittington pick. He's likely to fill Skow's job, but, with return ability to add in there. So, an improvement IMO. Thanks for all you did for us Skow!
