Hate the Cephus signing more than any signing or draft pick under the McSnead era.

As I mentioned in the O-line thread, he was charged with two counts of rape in college by women who were barely eighteen at the time and were apparently too drunk to consent. He was acquitted because of the women being unable to remember and give testimony (which is not surprising, given how much they had to drink). Regardless, he was expelled from Wisconsin and later sued by both women.

I don't want that garbage on our team. I'm not saying we should be Four Pillars, but there needs to be standards here.

Ugh, the Cephus case sounds complicated as hell and I don't have the time or inclination to spend a long time looking into it. It does sound like Cephus counter-sued UW for inappropriately expelling him. And Cephus was found "not guilty" of criminal charges in part because there was video surveillance footage suggesting the women were not "completely drunk" and therefore supposedly capable of offering consent.

Maybe @Memento is right and Cephus is guilty as hell. I dunno. But it does indeed sound like those who are inclined to defend Cephus have some points to be made too.

I hope Cephus wins that lawsuit against the school. So fucking tired of electronic lynch mobs. We all grew out of lynch mobs, but there's a long way to go to grow out of the more dangerous electronic version.

Btw welcome to the Rams all and hope you make the most of it.

Don’t worry me and Matt think we should loose our shit too.

Jonah Jackson lost is not a big deal for the team overall. Avilla is. It's going to be okay. Our O Line is going to be good on Sunday

Yeah if he actually did what they said he did - he should get the book thrown at him and kicked out of the NFL

But it appears to be conflicting stories here so I have no clue if he is guilty of not.

And if it did go to court, we would hear all the evidence for and against him.

But knowing lawsuits it will be settled out of court.

Just like the USC RB coach against the NCAA.

I so wanted to hear the evidence in that case.

Yeah people are immediately considered guilty in the internet if you are accused of a crime.

I want it to go back to Innocent until Proven Guilty but that will never happen in the internet.

Merlin, I love you as a friend, but since when have "electronic lynch mobs" killed hundreds of people like actual lynch mobs have?

I'm not demanding Cephus's life or livelihood. Just that I hate his signing and don't want him to be a Ram.

Innocent until proven guilty...just go back and look at the old Duke Lacrosse case. Many are quick to jump on a story especially when it fits a particular narrative. Like men are toxic and bad people.

Sorry, people should not to be allowed to falsely accuse either. I realize it is a slippery slope and there are many people too scared to press charges, but we have seen many falsely accused over the years, like the Duke Lacrosse team and Matt Ariza as @Corbin Communicated.

IMO, if someone was acquitted for the right reasons, they should be given the benefit of the doubt, but again I tend prejudge because I believe everyone should conduct themselves accordingly, but there are people out there trying to entrap certain individuals too and IMO, they are not held accountable like they should be for their actions.

100%. I used to think women were innocent etc. till I got falsely accused of beating the shit out of a female for kicking her out finding her with another dude, other guy found out about me and tuned her up. She blamed me and it took 2 years to clear my name, fortunately I kept the Facebook and text messages or I’d be fucked.

Yep women sure as hell aren’t innocent, and you notice a lot of the reality when you realize this and the people who live in exceptions not the rule have no concept of reality.
So, are you feeding each other laxatives?

Believe all women. Even when they lie.

You need to include the ex Dodger's pitcher too

You mean Trevor Bauer and yeah, that woman did him way dirty. He’s still pitching well and won’t ever get back into MLB

Yep, thoughtless vapid people virtue signaling .
Happens here from time to time, no doubt... So performative. I remember that former poster Les or something always jumping on his high horse and preaching. It's exhausting.

PSU RB Austin Scott looked like a sure NFL player. He got accused of sexual assault and he never made it to the league. Several years later the girl’s friend came forward and said it wasn’t true.

It’s hard to know what to believe anymore.

My college roommate (years later) was in a hotel room arguing with his girlfriend. She ran into the bathroom and called the cops. He never touched her, but the cops came in and drug him out. They drug him down the stairs. He ended up having to take a dishonorable discharge from the Army. I believe him when he said he never touched her. Less than a year later that same woman tried to get back together with him.

So I gave up on being quick to judge these things.
