Yeah this fills a huge hole and saves a draft pick in the process. If Allen can't stay healthy this year he's gone in 2024 and Shelton can step in seamlessly. He's also insurance for Bruss to give him a full off season to be coached up.

Welcome back Coleman, love watching him at UW and now as a Ram.

Gaines has to be next.

Still think it would be wise to draft a center. 11 picks, it's not like we have 5.

Gives The Rams an extra season to find a center.
No reason to reach & not address more important positions.
Draft a swing Tackle IMO,but Les Snead is all in find Pass Rushers!

I am one to believe Gaines is Gaines because of AD by his side.

I think he is a good chance to be re-signed as well.

I still wouldn't be surprised if they used one of those thirds on a center.
But this way we don't have to rush somebody onto the field and can develop the guy out a little bit
I would have no problem if they started Shelton over Allen.

I don’t see Shelton as quite as good as some characterize him. He comes in at a 58 overall on PFF if you are into that type of thing. That is not good for the record.

I see Shelton as good depth though and we really need that.

Edwards, as much as people here hate him, grades out better then Shelton.

I am not expecting anything more than a mediocre 2023 for the Rams unless we upgrade the talent on the Oline.

Or a 4'th and bring in another Brian Allen ... :sarcasm:

Yeah or guard, whichever is best available. Since Shelton can do either all though relying on Allen is risky. So I would agree at center if one drops to us. Can always let Allen go for some cap savings if we luck into one.

Either way, glad they signed him back. He’s not a great player but at least average and is versatile. Will help bridge us to hopefully finding stronger set of interior lineman the next couple years.

Yeah, you do these mock drafts and use all 11 picks, it's hard to not pick a C. There are just too many picks even doubling up on CB, DT, and Edge, you still have room to add a C.

I end up taking a couple OG's and a C in most mocks.

Geez dude get off PFF and watch games. Edwards was a total joke at LG. He's has poor feet, poor strength and poor vision. Stunts were run repeatedly against him and he was caught off guard each time. I think most here would be happy never to see Edwards again. This just proves what I've been saying for years that PFF is a bad joke meant only for no nothing media types like Cameron DaSilva, who if he actually watched games and knew what he was seeing wouldn't say half the stuff he does.

Believe me, Tex you don't want Stafford behind Edwards anymore.

You mean Brian Allen Jr?

Better be the minimum.

I hope with Bruss the Rams learned an important lesson. If you want an OG then draft an OG or at least an OT who has played well at OG. The positions are different and require different techniques.
