I was thinking the same thing. The totals and the ceiling are not that important. The structure and guaranteed money are.

As a short term proposition, though, this is a really good move. With the development of Gaines, Robinson, and Jones, the addition of Wagner, and maybe a contribution from Brown, our run D should be really stout.

I could see it being an essentially 2 year deal with big signing bonus and low cap hit.

This will be huge for E. Jones. Playing next to an All Pro, learning from him and helping the defense as a whole.

Likely all the guaranteed in the first 2 or 3 years and the nfl is now fond of void years so a couple of those at the end. End result he plays at home on a good deal, he was rumored to be offer $11m
by BMore, to chase rings.

The guaranteed-$, and the 2022 cap-hit.

Guessing the Rams are putting a nice hunk-of-$ in Wagner's pocket but the 2022 cap hit is relatively small.
