The two-time Super Bowl champion told head coach Sean McVay on Saturday morning that he has decided to retire, ending both his second stint with the Rams and his stay in the NFL.

Michel, 28, steps away from football with 3,342 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns, plus another 56 catches for 439 yards and two scores.

Originally a first-round pick of the Patriots, Michel played in two Super Bowls across three years for New England, compiling 900-plus rushing yards in each of his first two campaigns.

I for one am going to miss "ol Sony....guess there just comes a time...

We honestly don't have to add anyone. But adding a young Rb to compete with Rivers for the 4th RB would be nice

As I wasn't overly excited about resigning Sony. I do wonder why he retired. Maybe he felt he wasn't going to get a lot of PT. Five years in the NFL is something to be proud of while still being healthy.

I wonder if Jonathon Taylor can block?

Think Irsay already said Taylor wasn't going anywhere. I'd say smart man, but I suspect his brains are pickled.

Could you imagine Taylor running behind Avila and Big Rob?

Team would be scarier on offense. I know people keep calling Taylor a power back, but he also posseses home run speed and can catch out of the backfield. Dude is a stud. Just depends what his asking price is that going to determine what happens. If we got him on our squad, yes, boner city hahahaha
