Preseason games may not count toward teams’ records, but some folks at home will have a certain rooting interest beyond hoping their squad wins. With spreads and over/under lines, there will be plenty of bets placed on these exhibition games, including Rams-Raiders on Saturday night.

The Rams enter their preseason opener as underdogs to the Raiders, which shouldn’t come as any surprise. Los Angeles will rest its top starters for the entire game, keeping players such as Jared Goff, Todd Gurley, Aaron Donald and Andrew Whitworth on the sideline.

The Raiders’ plan is unclear, but oddsmakers have made Oakland the favorite at home in this one. According to USA TODAY odds, the Rams are five-point underdogs at Covers and 5.5-point underdogs at BetAmerica.

That’s the largest spread of any remaining game in the opening week of the preseason, while the 35-point over/under line is the lowest of the five games left.

Micah Kiser, Bryce Hager, Sebastian Joseph-Day and Greg Gaines will all play as they compete for starting jobs on defense, while Sean McVay said it’s possible that Joseph Noteboom and Brian Allen will also play a couple series.

Smart money. I'm sure we will win at least one preseason game, but the guys that are playing haven't been getting a ton of reps in training camp - so it makes sense that they will struggle.

I'm betting that there will be at least 15 pirate faces made by Jon during the game. That should get the rai-duhs over the hump for sure.

I very rarely bet on preseason games, unless there is some reason to.

I used to bet on Fishers teams in the 4th preseason games, back when he would play the starters against the other teams 2nd and 3rd stringers for most of the game. That was easy money right there.

Chris Simms gonna be like: BORTLES GOT THE START OVER GOFF!!!!

While Foolio licks his nuts.

@flv where is our betting mistro at?

The Rams practice squad could probably put points up on the Raiders. It will be fun to see our prospects though.

Is it just me or does anyone else picture Simms and Florio wearing horn rimmed glasses, sitting in a think tank, and writing word bubbles on a whiteboard to consider how they will next focus on undermining Goff as a draft bust?

It is always fun for me to see the Rams players that are on the bubble fighting to win a spot on the roster or practice squad. You know these guys are giving everything that got to fulfill their dream of being in the NFL.
