I like Dielman. Neary, I don't know. Would have preferred Dorian Johnson, so we can at least get a hold of the Cards playbook.

Who did we cut for these three?

I wouldn't be surprised if Neary was cut again right away. They likely put bids in on multiple linemen in case they were blocked on a bunch of them. Doesn't necessarily mean they wanted more than one.

I'm just spit-balling here, but it just seems odd they would add two guys with similar profiles like this (a bit too small, a bit too weak in core strength, etc.) ...

That has not been announced yet, but I'm betting the Rams will cut an OL, DL & DB with the possibility of a TE, but I doubt that so here are my guesses on who will be released after the Rams claiming three.

  1. Austin Blythe....Who showed well in preseason, but I don't see the Rams keeping 10 OL's and Blythe is now expandable with claiming Neary & Dielman.
  2. Luis Trinca-Pasat...Now some will think otherwise, but if Donald does not report I believe that Tyrunn Walker will be starting along with Brockers & Westbrooks.
  3. Dominique Hatfield...Just because he's not a real McCoy.

I'm not sure you let go Blythe. I think he should be starting over Brown. I also think at worst he is our 1st guy off the bench. I would rather cut Donnal. He has showed me nothing. 1 and 2 would be tough to let go, didn't think about the cuts till you tossed out those names lol

LOL What is this fascination with Cutting Blythe? He had one bad snap but aside from that has performed well at Guard and Center in the preseason.

Actually I thought he played really well in preseason, but they claimed two guys in Dielman & Neary who play Center and I don't see them carrying 10 offensive linemen, so I am a connect the dots guy and I believe that Blythe will be the guy they release.

Blythe can also play guard.

I realize that, but so can both Neary & Dielman, whereas Donnal & Williams play tackle where the Rams need at the very minimum three of them. So either the Rams keep 10 offensive linemen, which is possible or they have to release one of the guys who are left and if not Blythe, then who?

Dielman could play ROT along with OG also Neary could play OG. I am pretty sure they keep Blythe who has shown himself as a capable backup and possible starter. The players they cut to make room will probably be ones that are eligible for the PS.

That makes sense.

Donnal looked decent at backup RT which only Saffold has played. Maybe Donnal goes on the short term IR.

It's very confusing with the pick up of Dielman and Neary. The Rams could see Blythe's value as an OC/OG and have him compete with Dielman to replace Sullivan at OC in the future. Dielman is going to need time to learn the offense so Blythe should will be safe for a while.
