Oh, man. I have a personalized autographed jersey, and tons of great memories of watching highlights on NFL Films, and discussions with my late father about him.

He will be missed by many.

Ugh.. Its a sad early AM of June 04 for Ramsnation. RIP to the great sack master Deacon Jones

I only wish I could have seen Deacon play.....

The sack master. R.I.P sir.

Too bad I never had the chance to watch you play.

A very proud part of Rams lore. He will live on forever in our hearts. Even the hated ones (Pats, Niners) bow their heads in respect for this man. Very sad day.

:boohoo: RIP Deac. I saw him dominate and it was special.

The man was intimidating right up until his last breath. Loved him.

Wow. That makes Rosie Grier the only remaining member of the Fearsome Fousome still alive. Deacon was a pioneer for the DL position, created rules (head slap) and created the term sack. One of the most dominant players I've ever seen on film and among the elite in the HOF. Great man, player, and teammate. Deacon, you will be missed by not only Rams fans but true football fans worldwide.

Rest in peace, Deacon. You will be missed by all of Rams Nation.

Died of natural causes today. R.I.P!

Very, very sad news! Deacon Jones was without a doubt one of the greatest NFL & Rams players of alltime! And, what I had seen of him (TV, Newspapers, etc) he really seemed like a great person as well!

Thanks for everything and making me the Rams fan that I am today.

Just rolled over to NFL.com and saw this. Actually got a noise out of me. This is a sad damn day. He was a man who spoke it how he thought it. He will be missed

Damn.

God should make him one of the horsemen of the apocalypse, because nobody wants to see him comin' at 'em.

And just because, here's Jones' classic turn on the The Brady Bunch in which Jones saves the day for Peter Brady.

He was 8 years older than me and I did,but like so many things of true greatness you don't actually realize their measure in the moment.

IMO the NFL should have gone back and tabulated his sacks once they decided to count it as a stat.
Lemme add if you have a conversation about the top five players of all time and he isn't in the running, your conversation is flawed.
