Pretend you are living life high on the hog in Canada like CGI. It's 2am and the titty bar kicked you out and now you are drunk and hungry as hell. Which restaurant will you choose? Will it be a drivethru or the sit-down restaurant with one waitress that hates yur drunk asses?

Good topic. Me and my buddies always used to go to a place called Tastee Diner in Bethesda. I cannot even tell you how many Tasty Muffins (giggty giggity) I have fired down at 3am or later (earlier?) at that place.

However your thread title mentions HANGOVER food....which would usually imply the next day.....and nowadays, for me that is Pho. That is my comfort, detox food. Other than that, I will grab a steak and cheese from one of the deli's nearby. That always works too!

Yes big difference between drunk diner and hangover dive. Waffle House does the hangover for me. Krystals used to do the drunk binge snacking at 2am.

I dont leave the house when hung over with out making a big ol Bloody Mary first

Then it's Dunkin Donuts for bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel

In college, I used to go to a local breakfast diner that made an amazing tomato and cheese omelette with thick cut wheat toast that turned around a few Sunday mornings after a bit of Saturday excess. That scenario does not come up for me any more, but I still think of it any time I order such an omelette.
 
I picked IHOP with Waffle House in second by a razor thin margin.

Most of the rest of the choices seemed like "I'm still drunk but hungry" places.

Given that I've only been hungover once (and it sucked; thanks a lot, bipolar medication!), I'll have to go for the fast food place I went to that day: McDonald's. I had a McGriddle and hashbrowns.

When I was in college, the Shoney's in town had a breakfast buffet that started at 2 am. After bar hopping, you could find us there about 3. We also had a Chinese buffet that started at 9 am too. Nothing beats a hangover like a Chinese buffet!
